#PerfectFit Pointe Hi. I am having a fairly bad problem with my point shoes. The problem is that my big toe is much longer than my other toes. Causing the big toe being the only toe at the end of the point shoe.Do you think this product would fix my problem? @PerfectFit Pointe
@PerfectFitPointe

Yes, the PerfectFit Inserts would be ideal for this problem! They're designed to more evenly distribute weight across all your toes by filling in the voids in the shoe box.

Ok, one more question. Would these alter the way the shoes cast to your feet as you break them in vs using gel insert such as an ouch pouch?
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 8 лет назад
Your pointe shoes will still break in as normal! And because the inserts are flexible, they will be able to flex as the shoe breaks in (i.e., the crown flattens). While a pointe shoe will really only mold to your foot where the box is quite thin (higher up the vamp and around the wings), the inserts will mold to your foot from your metatarsals down to your toes.

Try layering lambswool (found in drug stores) with a wedge makeup sponge or two in each shoe's toebox (sandwich style with sponge in the middle). The lambswool will mold to your toes. Use that along with shoe insoles to fill up the space. Also, wearing Mary Jane shoes will help you stay in the shoe. Hope this helps.

I have really wide tapered toes with the big toe being the longest. I just ordered these because I’m fed up with the amount of pain I get at the outer corner of my big toe where the nail ends. It usually stings so bad that it feels like I’m either get poke with a needle or dancing on knifes. The pain is the same as stubbing my toe accept it doesn’t go away because I have to stay up en pointe and roll through. My question is since I get so much pain in that area would I mold the insert the same way that someone with a long second toe would?
@ElleSeerose1188
@ElleSeerose1188 7 лет назад
Hello! I have a significantly longer second toe and I typically have to put a gel cushion under my big toe to keep my second toe from bending up and bruising. Would I put this into the toe pads like with the spacers in the video? I'm worried that without it my toes would curl up and ruin the toe pad. Thank you so much!
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 7 лет назад
You have a couple options here... you could certainly mold in the gel cushion you currently use under your big toe! Another option would be to delay going on to full weight-bearing pointe for the first few minutes... see the question about how to mold the inserts with longer 2nd toes in our FAQ section! :) perfectfitpointe.com/faqs/ (scroll about halfway down the page)

I have two questions. Will this help prevent compressed toenails? And what do I do if I still feel pain at my pressure points?
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 8 лет назад
Have you been able to experiment with different styles of pointe shoes, as well? A well-fitted shoe can go a long way in reducing pressure points, and the better fit you start with in the pointe shoe itself, the better. Yes, the PerfectFit inserts are designed to basically adapt your foot to fit whatever shoe you’re wearing, and because the putty flows under your shorter toes, it evens out weight distribution and greatly reduces the chance of bruised toenails on your longest toe. This will greatly help in reducing pressure points, but if you still feel pain on the tip of your longest toe, you could try putting a thin gel layer in the platform of the shoe (like a cut-up piece of an Ouch Pouch, or something similar).

+PerfectFit Pointe, I was just wondering, did you need to remold another insert every time i buy a new pair of pointe shoes ? and because i need toe spaces, do i need to buy new spaces every time i have new molded inserts or can my spaces come out of the mold ? Thank you
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 8 лет назад
+Keisha Lau You don't need to remold the inserts every time you buy a new pair of pointe shoes, so long as the size/style/make of your shoe is the same (or quite similar). The success of the design comes from the fact that the insert molds precisely to the shape/position of the foot inside the shoe, and both of those factors would change if you switched to a different shoe size/style. But the inserts are definitely removable, so you can transfer them to a new pair when your old shoes wear out! :) The spacers become permanently encased in the insert once molded, but it would technically be possible to slit the little purple fabric sleeve and pull them out. The turquoise moldable material doesn't adhere to silicon, only porous materials like the fabric. Hope this helps! Yes, you can definitely continue to wear the PerfectFit inserts in multiple pairs of shoes, as long as the size/style are the same. If you change shoe size or style, it's probably best to remold. You can find more answers to questions like this one at: perfectfitpointe.com/faqs/

Spagettii Angel I am no ballet dancer, but I would imagine a remould would only be nessecary with a change of brand or size. These seem to be marketed at dancers who already know their point shoes and what they like pretty well.

The PerfectFit inserts should negate the need to wear gel toe caps over your big toe, but technically you can mold any non-porous gel accessories into the inserts, and they will pop in/out. Hope this helps!

Would these only fit the pair of point shoes you mold it with or multiple pairs?
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 7 лет назад
The inserts provide a highly customized fit inside the pair of pointe shoes they're molded in. Typically we would recommend molding a new pair for a new size or style of shoe unless they are quite similar to the ones the inserts were molded in. You can definitely transfer them from pair to pair of shoes in a consistent size/style!

Amazing! As an adult dancer re-starting pointe, I found myself buying new shoes every 3 months. I bought GMs and love them (1yr 1 pair anniversary in June, ha), but now find myself eating through toe tips (like monthly now). Could this is be the answer!? I don't need a toe spacer but was fitted with Bunheads The Big Tip; would I have to wear that with the mold?
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 8 лет назад
+nevroth Congrats on re-starting pointe as an adult! The PerfectFit inserts should eliminate the need for all other padding accessories in the shoe (minus spacers, which can be molded into the inserts as desired/needed). They were designed to naturally and proactively provide support under your longest toe by filling space underneath your shorter toes. So yes, no more Big Tips!

MrDunstan1 theoretically yes, but these are designed to comfort the foot for pointe shoes. Being on pointe myself, you are on your toes almost the whole class so it won't help you stay on top of your shoes,but it will comfort the pressure on your foot.

Do you have to do one foot then the other or can you do them both at the same time??
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 7 лет назад
We highly recommend that you do one foot at a time because of the importance of timing. When you mold them one at a time, you have more control and focus over the result, and the moldable material will be nice and fluid when you first put it on your foot so it can flow where it needs to go and escape when needed. You only have to do the molding process once, though, and then you'll be set! :)

For those of us who currently have no padding in our shoes would PerfectFit Pointe work or would a refitting with padding be necessary?
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 6 лет назад
You would not need to refit your shoes (assuming you're happy with the current fit of your shoes). The molding material would adapt to fit the available spaces in your shoe. We would recommend using probably only 1/2 of the jars of provided silicone material since the volume of your inserts will be much less than a dancer already wearing a toe pad in your shoe. Feel free to email us at info@perfectfitpointe.com if you have any more questions!

Would you need to mold new ones every time you got a different brand or style of pointe shoes?
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 8 лет назад
+Breanna Surridge Yes, we would recommend molding a new pair of PerfectFit inserts if you change to a substantially different size, brand, or style of shoe. The success of the design comes from the fact that the insert molds precisely to the shape/position of the foot inside the shoe, and both of those factors would change if you switched to a substantially different shoe size/style. Hope this helps! You can find answers to these questions and more on our FAQ page: perfectfitpointe.com/faqs/

Is this option better than most if you have a lot of pressure in your pointe shoes?
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 8 лет назад
A pointe shoe that fits your foot shape well is the first and most important step, but yes, if you still have a fair amount of pressure in your shoes (which many dancers do), then these inserts would be great to try. The concept is different from a general "padding" solution because the goal is to proactively offload pressure from your typical pressure points by creating a more customized fit.

what happens if you change the pointe shoe brand and the box shape changes, because not only does it mould to your feet but also the box shape? Would it still work the same?
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 7 лет назад
Great question! Yes, we recommend re-molding a new set of inserts if your shoe brand or size changes significantly since they are fitted precisely to your foot inside a certain shoe. So we advise waiting to mold your inserts if you're experimenting with many different pointe shoes!

so the toe spacer stays inside the mold forever?
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 7 лет назад
Yes, the spacer stays integrated in your molded PerfectFit inserts for as long as you're wearing them. At the time you decide to retire your pair of inserts, you may remove the spacer from the insert by making a slit in the purple spacer sleeve if you would like to reuse them in your next pair.

Hey probably a really dumb question but are the inserts soft and squeezable or completely hard?
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 7 лет назад
Good question! I'd say they're a little bit in between... they are definitely firm, not super soft and jelly-like, since their main function is to act as a fitting solution, not as padding. That's how they provide support and make the shoe responsive to your foot. That said, although they are firm, they are definitely flexible... more like the consistency of a rubber ball. Hope that helps!

I wear lambswool as spacers, can I just wear it while using the mold and not integrate it? I don’t really care i have to trash the lambswool I used.
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 6 лет назад
You don't have to integrate a spacer if you don't want to. If you wear any lambswool while molding the inserts, it would definitely adhere to the putty. If you would like to mold a spacer in there, we recommend one of the silicone gel kinds featured in the video.

Hi I am having a problem with my pointe shoes. My big to is the only toes touching the tip of the shoes witch I very uncomfortable. Do you think this would help
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 7 лет назад
Yes, the PerfectFit inserts help distribute your weight more evenly across the tips of all your toes, thereby relieving pressure on your longest toe (and without adding any extra bulk there).

Hi. I am having a fairly bad problem with my point shoes. The problem is that my big toe is much longer than my other toes. Causing the big toe being the only toe at the end of the point shoe.Do you think this product would fix my problem?

Yes, I think the PerfectFit inserts could definitely help your problem! That's essentially what they are designed to do -- make the the shoe fit your foot perfectly, and provide more even weight distribution over all your toes. They will fill up whatever space is under your shorter toes!

Ich würde das nicht machen. Du wirst die Flexibilität deines vorderfußes komplett einbüßen. Und die Ausübung von Druck an sehr kleinen bouldersteinen etc. wäre meiner Meinung nach fast unmöglich :/

You wear the inserts directly against your skin, and your tights over your inserts :) (That's where convertible tights come in handy!)

Do the pointe shoes have to be a bit broken in for the moulding process ?
@PerfectFitPointe
@PerfectFitPointe 6 лет назад
Yes, we recommend that your shoes are slightly broken in (maybe you've worn them for a class or two), so that you can really articulate through the shoe and roll through demi pointe as the inserts mold. The goal is to make sure your foot is moving through all the positions you dance in so that the inserts support you in a full range of motion. Hope this helps! :)

Yes, this can help take the pressure off of your longer second toe! Read in our website FAQ section about how to modify the molding process slightly for this toe type.
