About this van:
Emily and john shared their first van conversion with us on the channel about a year ago and so I'm really excited to be able to show this new one from them. Their last conversion was a totally stunning boutique hotel style van conversion, and I can't quite believe I'm saying this, but I think this one is even better!
After receiving such good attention off the back of the last tour, John decided to go pro with his van converting and since we last caught up with them, John has gone into business with Emily's brother and is now designing and building all manor of beautiful van conversion.
This self-build campervan features a beautiful media wall, with smart TV & DAB radio, as well as two double beds (one fixed and one that coverts into a sofa too) and a stunning bathroom.

What I liked about this van build was that even though they basically closed off the cabin, they still have a living room space & a bathroom. Most vanlifers lose that living space.

That's what I thought! Where do dirty and wet shoes and jackets go though..? :/ Where are all them hooks?? 🙈😅 Other than that really really clever design around life situations (like maybe the passenger wants to sleep during the drive; the couch/TV situation; ...)

This layout is the best I’ve seen! One idea that might be a nice addition is to add some sort of tilting up capability to the stationery bed. The head area could lean up for more back support while reading in bed, or half of the bed could tilt upward, so that the bed could become a couch in order to enjoy views out the back of your van.

Interestingly we have a van that we have just built that does exactly this! The bed at the rear of the van also turns into a sofa so you can enjoy the views from the back too! @@emilyackroyd4000 Wow, awesome. You guys are 1000 steps ahead of me. I just checked out your other design and I really like the new design and color palette. For what it’s worth, I like the 1st kitchen for the ledge behind the sink. It seems like a nice place for spices or small decorations. As for the burners, is it not feasible to turn them 90 degrees in order free up some extra countertop space?

BRILLIANT, best van conversion I've seen yet that's within a normal budget and no cutting edge lift systems or motorised gadgets moving things around for space. Totally achievable DIY and perfect layout for most people I'd imagine.. look forward to seeing the next build they do with the baby in mind!! Nice one guys! Congratulations on the business! Wonder why so many van designs out the sink next to the stove instead of leaving counter space between?

Having the flat part of the counter next to your bed is more aesthetically pleasing from the view of lying in bed. In their case, the countertop could also be a place to set a drink, phone, and/or book at night. Also, if the sink or burner are directly next to your bed, it’s more likely for water, food, or other oil to get on your bed. These are just some things to consider, but of course it comes down to personal preference and cooking habits of the owners.

I know some vans have a countertop that lifts up and converts into the bathroom area. Having a hob there wouldn’t be a great idea 😕

Love the design. Something to keep in mind for your family friendly van, you mite want all your switches and monitors and what not up high, so your little one can’t get at them when he starts “exploring”. It popped in my head when I seen where your fridge power switch was.

Seen a few lately. This is by far the best one I've seen. Only change I would do is put in the two fans in the roof so you can suck air in and blow it out for circulation apart from that a big 👍

I really like how it has its own living room. I don't know how long that van is to have that all in it but it is beautiful. Only thing I would change is to put a regular rv stove with the oven in it. And a bigger fridge, like an apartment size or one you can get from Walmart that has its own freezer and looks like regular fridge but it's even smaller then an apartment fridge . It might take a little more space but for full time living it would be nice. Also to add a little more space you could always add some cabinets up above the cabinets below and pain them white so they just blend in. But this is one of the best builds I have seen yet. I would love to have it and get out on the road and be free. God bless 🙏💞🙏

love the fabrics. like the layout, apart from the fridge location. I think a pullout top-loading fridge into the sliding door space would work better. it's good to see the sofa area situated where you can actually look out of the doors at the scenery, and the L shape makes it more inviting. good luck with the business!

I love this design bec the electrical is near the driver’s. I’d put a cover on that stove tho so it can be used as flat counter when not it use.

Why can't you just install brackets into which an infant seat could be clicked and add a suspended bed for the baby? In the US, we click the car seats into a LATCH system which are simply U bolts that are installed in the rear seats of a vehicle. I don't think the kid needs the adult seat at all. All ours was good for was catching all the dropped food!
