Reviewing the Le Parfum version of the classic fragrance Le Male from Jean Paul Gaultier www.aaronterencehughes.co.uk Instagram - AaronTerenceHughes Music: Sleepdebt - I C U
This is the one fragrance in my current collection that has me smelling and re-smelling my wrists again and again as it dries down. Fcking masterpiece imo and the one fragrance I wear for myself.
Man I feel bad for you if you only got one like that. Mystic Experience, Side Effect, Blessed Baraka, Man in Black, Luna Rossa Black, Code Parfum (ymmv), D&G The One EDP to a degree. I found a number of really addictive ones, but MIB remains the most addicting one to me.
@@pandemicneetbux2110 I’ve slowed down on frag buying, mainly cos I live in Japan, and the ¥/$ exchange rate is weak as sh1t right now. I have to buy from discounters based in the states unless I want to pay retail, (which no one should, I’ve only ever paid retail for Chanel). I’ll make a note of your listed recommendations for the future, when the Japanese yen stops being so damn weak sauce! Cheers fella 🤝
@@BungleTheGooner I'm guessing there's no way to crypto or other payment, I forget if ebay does that yet but I mostly like using ebay. I only got ripped off outright once (which was bizarrely for a $35 The One, idk why by that one cheap one is fake af everywhere and my expensive ones all fine) and found massive deals online there, like $150 for a brand new Initio. Not sure how ebay work in Japan. I thought USD was weak af too right now
@@pandemicneetbux2110 eBay is sketchy my end mate 😂 I was trying to get my hands on JpG le male elixir not so long ago, which has no official distribution channel in this region, and places like Harrods in the UK don’t ship here, nor does JpG directly; eBay has it, but it’s a crapshoot imo, not to mention the surge pricing and the postage! I like my frags but I have a ceiling 😃
Do a Lavender & Geranium barbershop fragrance for gentlemen in your own style. You can add Rosemary or another minty note to finish it off. Round it up with your own signature accords. I bet your classy male customers would love such a fragrance. Just my humble opinion.
I just ordered a sample of this. Piqued my interest listening to other reviewers. Looks like it's a good buy from your expert nose as well. Thanks for your time Aaron. Love hearing your opinion and note breakdowns.
Love love love the background music. Combined with the unique inflection of your voice, it makes these videos mysterious and infatuating while remaining informative👍
man, you are reviewing the perfume that i just sit wondering if i should buy. Like i looked at this perfume 1 week ago. thanks for an awesome review your profesionalisme helps a lot when making final decision ❤️
When i heard all this hype about (aaron terrence hughes) i thought to myself there is no way this dude lives up to the hype i watched your channel and reviews im hooked I can't stop. Keep doing what your doing bro all the reviews are very thorough and executed perfectly i absolutely love them.......take care
I personally love the smell of ionones, particularly alpha ionone and beta ionone. They do have a tendency to cause anosmia if whiffed neat though, or if they are overdosed in a fragrance.
Spanish Lavender is really nice and buttery with ambery effects, I love it. Coumarin is highly used in Alexandria II from Xerjoff, which you really should try. Also has Lavender.
I like that you also give designer fragrances their due as some are really good. I never get bored of a fragrance in my collection because I have a fairly extensive collection so I change fragrances almost every day. Sometimes I like a more simple fragrance depending on my mood. I usually go for more complex but occasionally a simple fragrance is totally my pick.
Great revieuw Aaron! I really like the scent aswell. I dont wear it a lot tbh i dunno how i get to it but it somehow smells a lil like some Dutch Liquorice to me.
Great review of this scent. It is one of my favorite. I have a question tho... Have you ever smelled a scent like this and thought "I could do it even better" and play in your lab just for fun and see what you come up with? Also, I was watching your Side Effect review and you actually cried it was so good and you said it inspired you. Have you been so inspired by a scent that you actually created one of your own and if so what was your scent and what was the inspiration?
Bought this one blind and love it straight away. But as you say, got bored pretty fast. Maybe because I have too many fragrances lol... Your hairline looks great!
I think if you wear the Same perfume everyday it will get boring. this is definitely a special occasion/night out fragrance the smell is heavenly. always blows me away.
True I wore le male elixir for 1 week straight, had a decent and finished it all. Over 54 sprays and I got sick of it. I do own a bottle and I bought a backup. But tbh I don’t touch it as much I do prefer le parfum over it.
Lv this fragrance, the best of le Male for me, smells like a mix of the original le male and ultra male but far better blended than any of the other variants. Longevity is great for me.. Sweeeeet... Another great review 👍
I really enjoy your review of this fragrance. I am wearing it today but maybe it doesn't work with my body chemistry because I can't smell it. I find that I like UltraMale better.
I like how you pointed out the lily of the valley note because I get that too even tho it isn't listed. It's funny how close this one is to axe gold vanilla spice and dark oud tho.
Im really hoping you will do parfums de marly pegasus exclusif i loved your review on the original and bought it aswell, thinking of buying the exclusif but i hear mixed things
I love the opening of this, but the deep dry down has something less pleasant to it. A fragrance that is better suited to applying 3 or 4 sprays throughout the day opposed to all at once, thus maintaining the best bit!
After this review, picked my first post Aaron review fragrance. Worth it. Its proven once Aaron educate you, you cant go wrong. Selection and differentiation is way too easy
I had to buy the full bottle (I wasn't a fan initially) because after washing my sweatshirt I can still smell it for almost a week. The only cologne that ever gave me such performance was Eternity in the early 90's
I sprayed it on my wrist in store, and about a quarter of the spray went into my wool jacked sleeve. That sleeve smelled heavenly for almost TWO WEEKS.
IF THIS WAS A TRUE EDP. THEY COULD SELL IT AS A NICHE FRAGRANCE. IT SMELLS BOMB AS F WHEN IT FIRST HITS. JUST DOESNT LAST LONG ENOUGH FOR ME. I STILL HAVE IT THOUGH.
I have a weakness for Iris, I'll blind buy when I see Iris in the note breakdown. But add to it the fact that Aaron likes it? TAKE MY MONEY NOW MR GAULTIER!!!
@@Thijspluymert Yeah, Prada L’homme is good, I like the Intense one a lot, and water splash is nice. I feel like currently, Givenchy is doing Iris the best. That whole Gentleman lineup is 🔥🔥🔥
I think you've hit the nail on the head: it's a really nice fragrance that becomes boring very quickly. I also find there is something missing and the bottle has been sitting on the shelf without much use lately.
There's not a lot of fragrance's I've been impressed with lately , the one that's stood out for me the most recently is trussardi riflesso it's really impressive for a designer fragrance.
I wanted to like this one but all my nose picked up when I got to smell it was that Iris note and all I could think of at the time was Valentino Uomo intense and Dior Homme intense. I passed on this one.
liked you review, i own it i find it very good the longevity is also good i just dont hope they screw this up with reformulations , just smelled ombre nomad from louis vuitton i dare you to do 6 sprays on your arm XD
@@vost2916 well modern colognes is what I mean. But yes in terms of history, Arabs and Persians have been making perfumes for far longer than the French.
I really like this one. To my nose, it's a mix of OG Le Male (which I don't love) and Ultra Male (which I love). I actually wear it a lot and it's smells great from start to finish. Longevity is very good. Thanks for the review!
get both. both are very affordable and absolutely worth it if you are in this kind of scent. I have to disagree with this video, wearing the same scent for a month or so is a bad thing with any scent. for several reasons. people around are getting annoyed by the same smell over and over again. oh here comes that smell again. 2nd you are getting insensitive to it yourself.
@@keep_walking_on_grass Agree here, building up a Fragrance collection of at least 30 different Scents is kinda mandatory, you should rotate and use another one every other month, so important to keep the Love for your fragrances. They can be the most amazing Scents, but if you don't switch up things you will start dislike even your most expensive ones, because that's just how it is with Scents. In fact you NEED to have at least two Fragrances for every Occation, and three for all four Seasons of the year.
Both are good. I really don’t think age comes into it for fragrances as much as people say. The loud, synthetic, sweet clubbing fragrances maybe are for the 18-25 range, but everything else can be worn by whomever I’d say. Certainly the two you mentioned are appropriate for any age range. Both are good fragrances, but to answer your question it really depends if you like iris or not. If you’re an iris fan, go for the iris-heavy le male le parfum. If you’re more into powdery vanilla with some mandarin and nutmeg (I think) and want to avoid the iris then check out absolu. Both good value with discounters if you wanted the pair.
I really like this fragrance. My only problem is that because I don't go out to the club anymore I can hardly find a time it's appropriate to wear. Actually as I get older that's become more and more of a problem. You start to quickly realize that most fragrances are situational. They're mood setters and complimentors.
I know what you guys are saying, but maybe try to find times to wear them and enjoy them, lift your mood while we are in this time.. it seems a shame to let lovely smells collect dust, would it be nice just to pick up your mood, put some music on etc :-) and enjoy your fragrances? 🙂
The opening is great and the most promising aspect of the fragrance. However, once it dries down it becomes rather mundane and like every other sweet fragrance.
