I had the chance to visit PDM store in Paris last month. Their fragrances are sublime, but I would equally rate the decoration of the store and the whole experience when you go inside to buy your favorite fragrance. Looking forward to this one Oajan, Habdon, and Layton are my three most worn bottles last winter!!! Oajan is a great easy wear and long lasting and great smelling.
Yes yes yes. I’ve been waiting for this review for more than a couple months. Thank you so much. This is definitely my first love on Niche Fragrances. A lot of people are more into Layton, Herod, Layton Exclusif and others, but Oajan for me is definitely my top 2 fragrances of all times. ❤️❤️
Thanks for the tips regarding Hedione in gourmands! I’ve always had some trouble with crafting my gourmands - never ever expected that hedione could be the material that’s mucking it up.

Aaron Terrence Hughes is God's gift to the fragrance community! My last three purchases have all been Parfums De Marly: Herod, Layton, and Oajan today. All are pre-reformulated, 78% alcohol volume. The only negative is that my finances took a huge hit over the last 3 weeks or so.
Excellent detailed review as always, Aaron! 👏👍👍 I'd be curious to hear what you think of Kalan from Parfums de Marly. It got overwhelmingly good reviews from RU-vid reviewers who coincidentally received free bottles. I personally do not like it and am curious to hear your assessment...

Oajan was love at first whiff for me. Almost at the end of my first bottle. Obvious re-buy. Could you please review Orto Partisi "Stercus" before the autumn arrives? Would be really curious to see what you think.
Have had the sample for a few months, had smelled it on paper and did not like it, specially compared to Carlisle which I love. But after this video looked up the little sample sprayer again and smelled it on my skin, I do like it actually.

I liked very much 1 Million Prive, And I miss it so much since it discontinoued... I've heard Oajan is very similar. Gonna try it and probably buy it one day.
I had a sniff of this from a friend's old decant bottle and i fell absolutely in love with it at the first sniff. I would like to buy a bottle of this - but hesitated knowing that there are reformulations on Oajan. I sniffed a first batch bottle of Layton and the 2021 batch... the difference is, well, huge is an understatement. This bottle of yours is from what year, dear sir?
I wouldn't say I applaude and tear up, but he's spot on with a 10. This fragrance is one, if not THE BEST gourmand I've ever smelled in my lifetime. Honestly, if you have the money, get it. There's no way around. This is THE gourmand. It radiates such warmth and luxury, it's unbelievable.
@@interestingvideos4046 I vaguely remember Black Orchid, Grand Soir and Side Effect. I think there are a couple more, but its like finding a needle in a haystack.
I accidentally stumbled onto PDM a couple years ago now. I was looking to replace a fragrance that was my signature, due to it being discontinued. My now fiancé and I walked by the PDM booth the bottles caught me eye and tested a bunch of them. I’m slowly building my collection!
Same here, stumbled across Parfums de marly and I now own about 4 bottles of the house I love their house and wanna continue to collect majority of their house
I just ordered a bottle of Habdan and the discovery set. I’m new to collecting my first expensive bottle was milliseme imperial but I was very unimpressed with the performance. I’m hoping PDM ends up being my go to niche.
@@m.houston6643 a big fear of mine is to blind buy (100mL) and be disappointed or to love it for 1/4 bottle and then discover something i like more and then have to push my (newer) purchase to the back row till next year. I buy decants whenever I can first.

This is a banger from PDM, it’s one of their best releases. Performance is very good and it’s mass appealing. I prefer it over Killian Angel Share which is similar but slightly more feminine
Came for the perfume, but when I saw the t-shirt I immediately was wondering if the feel of the fabric was what convinced you to get it. Edit: when you say that it is crystalline at room temperatures, was that meant as a hint that it chances to a less crystalline structure when you put body heat behind it?
I'm glad I didn't blind buy this...I would've been so disappointed because I own Angles' Share by Kilian which Oajan is compared to by many but I find blows it away. But to each his own.
I didn't like its opening... but it's worth the wait. Unlike "Carlisle" and "Herod" which I don't particularly like, Oajan is really pretty and well balanced. It has a warm honeyed Vanilla, sweet and sensual. Tonka and Cinnamon entwine, forming an aromatic pairing of sweet spices. Mugwort, Cistus, Ambergris, Benjoin... a string of notes that dress it with vanilla nuances and offer it credibility. After one hour on my skin, I have an impression of tobacco and flowers. It is the smell of a Nougat cream near a fireplace. A cozy Christmas Eve scent... 7/10
The opening for this is top tier. Apple pie at its finest. The dry down for me is extremely powdery which is a no for me. Just turn unisex leaning feminine to me. If powdery doesn’t bother you then I recommend a blind buy.
Aaron, may I know which batch code is it..?? My Batch code is 809701. Sadly, mine is the reformulated version and it doesn’t perform very well. But I love it regardless. The occasions that I would wear this is definitely Netflix and chill with my love ones. ❤️❤️
Really enjoy your reviews and I have a few samples of ATH fragrances now and I am really keen to try more. Never been super impressed by PDM, much more of a Roja and Amouage fan,,, however you painted a great picture and I am keep to sample this one, excellent reviewing. By the way, you may be in a studio but you should fire whoever does your lighting,, very noticeable that the left hand side of you was in shadow... (bit nit picking but thought i would mention)

The first time I sprayed this on at home everyone told me the house smelled like savory fresh cinnamon rolls. I agree it would be more perfect with some extra spices added. It’s not a daily wear for me, even in the cold, but a special occasion fragrance for me.
Great review Aaron if you get the chance I'd like you to do a review of parfums de marly Kalan because I've read many people say that it's kind of the odd one out in terms of the parfums de marly dna but super long performing and seems to be one of them love it or hate it fragrances

For everyone asking about the reformulation, ive just ordered it so it’s probably a 2023/2024 batch and ill update u guys on it’s performance and what not once i get it and can properly “review” it
I have a decant of this. 2 sprays on a piece of paper and the scent filled the room for days. This would be a Christmas scent for me, or maybe a cold November night out to see fireworks.
You must have a small room. I’ve got a small apartment with three PDM fragrances sprayed on paper but certainly I couldn’t smell em emanating off the paper. the fragrances are amazing nonetheless
Parfums de Marly has REFORMULATED Oajan. I own an older formulation which has an alcohol concentration of 78%. The new formulation I see in stores has 82% alcohol and does not have 3 ingredients found in the batches that have 78% alcohol. The missing ingredients are: Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate & Ethylhexyl Salicylate. The new formulation does not last as long and it smells different. Parfums de Marly fragrances are ALWAYS getting reformulated and become much weaker than their ORIGINAL releases. Parfums de Marly HAS NOT been transparent when it comes to the reformulation of their fragrances. Herod, Layton & Carlisle have also been reformulated and have 3%-4% more alcohol in newer batches.
I agree. I really like Greenly and Carlisle but the performance is just not there. They last about 6 hours and project only for 1 to 2 hours. Not worth it. Herod is a joke when it comes to longevity.

Also there are some other brands that I own and that are perfect when it comes to performance - Amouage Reflection Man, Mancera Aoud Vanillia, Dior Farhenheit, Xerjoff Naxos, Matiere Premiere Parisian Music, Montale Red Vetiver. I'm very happy with them. Recently I bought full bottle of PdM Carlise. Scent is great, longevity not so much. I bought it because I really like the scent
