At 33:55 ish, yes - it’s one of the parts from Alpha. It’s a callback. It’s one of my favorite periphery things. they also call back to A black minute” with “Reprise,” and others.
When you called out the guitar playing in Priestess, I believe you were referring to the guitar parts written by Mark Holcomb. I think all three guitarists write the guitar parts, but Mark’s parts have a distinctive use of sliding arpeggios and weird chord voicings that are just my favorite.
Great video! The reason Stranger Things is after Omega is because of the story of the album, it wouldn't make sense if they were swapped. Also, the little outro in Stranger Things includes motifs from A Black Minute, bringing everything full-circle. There's a lot of that throughout both albums.
Periphery has 3 guitarists, their bassist used to tour with them, but he retired from that life to be a producer. The band didn’t feel right finding another bassist, so the bassist still is part of the band, just records hits stuff in the studio. They play his backtracks at concerts. Nolly is irreplaceable. Please react to more Periphery. You still have P1. P2, P3, P4, and P5
now i get it. i was confused because there is definitely bass when you listen but when i watched the reptile live performance i was confused why there wasn't a player. i'm definitely planning to listen to more albums. i think i will definitely do P3 and P4. P5 i am already familiar with.
The end of 'Stranger Things' is the same start to 'A Black Minute' from Alpha.. so if you repeat the albums its a continuous never ending cycle.. for the albums and the story!..
If i remember, the bassist was adam nolly getgood. he was part of the band up until 2017. Nowadays periphery doesn't have an official bassist and adam works bts on production for the band. But honestly, for a band with 3 guitarists, do you even need a bassist?
I was introduced to Periphery with the Juggernaut albums and fell in love with it.. so when P3 came out I was a little taken back and didn't like it at first.. but the more I listened to P3 and took it out of the concept album mindset of Juggernaut.. P3 quickly became one of my favs.. and the same thing when I went back to P2 and P1.. I still can't get into P1 (its just too chaotic, a few ok songs but mostly chaotic and disjointed).. but after listening to P2 a few times I started to love it and see the brilliance in it.. and the Clear EP I loved from the start.. so once P4 came out I was hooked completely on Periphery and they have now become my fav band! Outside of P1, I love everything they do! and P5 is brilliant as well! You really can't go wrong with anything you decide on Periphery!.. Anyways good video and reactions to the Juggernaut Albums.. keep it up!!
