The Perito Moreno in Patagonia Argentina is part of the third biggest ice field on earth, one of the most famous glaciers of our planet and one of the wonders of the world. The Perito Moreno became a popular glacier due to its easy accessibility.
Unfortunately, the Perito Moreno is now also slowly disappearing.

Que impresionante! Una cosa es verlo en un vídeo y otra la sensación del estar presente , tal cual como lo explicas . Que interesante como se forman los colores azules en el hielo . Gracias por mostrarnos todas las semanas lugares tan espectaculares. Éxitos ❤

Nice video! Beautill place! I've been at the glaciar twice. Also is very nice to visit the Upsala glaciar that can only be accessed by boat. "Near" Calafate, actually like 200km, it is El Chalten, "National Argentinean hiking capital" with Fitz Roy mountain as background is also a must visit when in southwest patagonia.

El perito moreno no retrocede.....obvio que en verano se achica un poco y vuelve a crecer en invierno.....el ultimo rompimiento fue en el 2022...o sea que para el 2026 2027 tiene que volver a romper el puente de hielo que forma entre los dos lagos

@@josemariabravin7692 lamentablemente estás equivocado José. Ya te lo expliqué en otro comentario. Según los guías que trabajan allá, si, el Perito Moreno se esta derritiendo como todos los glaciares del mundo. Y supongo que los guías son los expertos en este tema. Por mucho tiempo el Perito Moreno fue el último glaciar en el mundo que no estaba derritiendo pero ahora también está afectado del cambio de clima.

Tremendas imágenes Alinaaaa... Me gustó el vídeo.. no sabía que también era compartido con Chile... Creía que era de Argentina nada más.. jaja ahora lo voy a buscar en el mapa y así aprendo porque creía que el se ubicaba al final de la Patagonia pero en argentina.. gracias Alinaaaaa ... Pudiste usar el dron allí o no es permitido?

El Perito Moreno solo está en Argentina. Pero pertenece a un campo de hielo que es enorme y esto se comparten Argentina y Chile ☺️ Es permitido volar el dron en Argentina en casi todos los lugares. No lo puedes volar en parques nacionales y casi todo es parque nacional 😅 Se puede volarlo solo con un permiso especial y yo no tengo nada de esto 🥲

Amazing is there different hours for tours or expeditions to EL PERITO MORENO. Also if I may ask how far/long is the Calefate to Perito Moreno?

There are different kinds of tours. The one we did was a whole day tour so as far as I know there aren’t a huge variety for that. You can go there by yourself with a car if you want to (although that obviously wouldn’t include the boat and the other side of the glacier) and there is a tour that takes you only to the walkways. That would take only half of the day and therefore there should be various hours available. It’s about one hour in car/bus from el Calafate. The tours offer the bus ride. It’s an almost 80km ride.

Hi Alina, I really enjoy your videos. I can feel how exciting you are in front of the magnificant landscape. In the coming Sept I will follow your foot prints. The encouragement from you when I noticed you can do the trek to Laguna de Los Tres without gear up like other trekkers. I believe I can do it too. Thank you so much! May I know if in Sept the way down to Patagonia area will be closed ?

I am very happy to hear that I was able to transmit the excitement ☺️ I haven’t heard that they close the hike in general in September but I can imagine that it clearly depends on the weather conditions. This last part must be dangerous when there’s ice. Sorry that I cannot give you a better answer now. I hope you will be able to do it as it is epic and I’m sure you’ll love the views!

El glaciar perito moreno no se derrite....cada 3 4 años se agranda y corta el lago en dos formando un puente de hielo....que luego se rompe en verano y vuelve a crecer....hace siglos que hace el mismo proceso

Según los guías del parque nacional, si se esta derretido poco a poco. Es más pequeño que estaba antes y esta puente se forma por el moviemento del glaciar que es algo que hacen todos los glaciares siempre. Es normal y parte de un glaciar que se están derritiendo. Se están moviendo, derritiendo y reconstruyendo. Ahora el Perito Moreno se está derritiendo más rápido porque ya no nieve tanto que antes. Por esto no se puede reproducir tan rápido que antes y se pone más pequeño aunque es un proceso muy lento aún.

Lamentablemente si, esta derritiendo. Por muchos años había sido el último glaciar en el mundo que no se derretí. Pero desde hace algunos años produce menos hielo que antes ya que nieve menos. Los guías del parque nacional lo han dicho muchas veces y también hay bastante evidencia por esto.

El glaciar Perito Moreno es el único en el mundo que no reteocede, puede haber cierta politiquería en los que te afirman eso, pero sabemos por otras voces respetables de la ciencia que es el único glaciar que recupera la misma proporción de hielo que pierde en cada temporada de deshielo. No deberías asumir cosas, sabiendo la cantidad de intereses discordantes e ideologías opuestas que hay dentro del estado en este momento. Estamos discutiendo muchos mitos del seudo progresismo en este país, por suerte.

Estuve ahí este año y los guardaparques afirman que en los últimos dos años el glaciar ha ido perdiendo mucho más de lo que recupera y por lo tanto está disminuyendo su tamaño enormemente y no saben si podrá recuperarse.

Lamentablemente si, esta derritiendo. Fue el último glaciar en el mundo que por mucho tiempo no se derretía pero desde hace algunos años produce menos hielo que antes porque nieve menos. Y por esto no se puede recuperar en la mismo velocidad que antes. Los guías del parque nacional lo han dicho muchas veces y hay bastante evidencia por esto.

Hasta el año 2020 el glaciar Moreno estuvo casi cien años en equilibrio (jamás en avance, ya que eso hubiese supuesto, por ejemplo, que el hielo tapara las pasarelas que están en su frente) pero desde entonces inicio un fuerte proceso de retroceso, sobre todo en su frente norte, que en solo 3 años retrocedió unos 800 metros, lo que representa una tasa inmensa, siendo que lo normal era que oscilara entre +2 o -2 metros al año. Este retroceso ya fue confirmado por los científicos (ver Lucas Ruiz, glaciologo del Ianigla).
