Today we take a little bit of a left turn and head down a rabbit hole and start an unusual swap using a Perkins diesel from a combine as the powerplant.

Reminds me of a time when I attempted to power lift a perkins to move it in a truck bed. A guy a lot like you may have been there.

I just got some parts in for the LS swap so I can get it out of the building and the perkins will be the next one in. I have some more free time now so the videos will be much more frequent!

Its actually a 372. I am going to turbo it with a 354 manifold and a couple other goodies!

I'm going for somewhere in the 300hp range. A little lower wouldn't hurt my feelings. Just enough to maintain interstate speeds without any struggle

Be careful with that 372. They were never intended for a turbo so the cranks didn’t get the extra heat treatment process and I believe there’s no piston cooling. Also the 372 is higher compression than a turbo 354. However if it is an A6-372.4 it might have the better flowing head and the better crank. If it’s a .2 rather than .4 engine the head doesn’t flow quite as well.
