My parents had an aluminum roof installed in 1980 in the very rainy Vancouver BC. It was not loud in the rain. 42 years later, it's still there and looks great. No colour change either.

All of a sudden everyone is an engineer with a degree from RU-vid university! This roof is perfect. Every shingle is locked and loaded with a nail and no it won't fly away it's a huge company that paid lots of money to test this product, and this guy is a roofer it's not the only type of roof there is out there he doesn't do this every day of his life there are many other types of roofing he does and every house will be different. ie. 3 tab, slate, tile, comp, torch on, metal, standing seem, Davinchi, there are tear offs to do water proofing sheet metal flashing, countless repairs, and someone is not gonna pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to get a roof pit on from some bogous company were it's just gonna fly off and hasn't been time tested to be legal to be put on houses now a days. God save us, the comment section in RU-vid shows how doomed humans are. WHERE ARE THE ALIENS???? PLEASE COME BACK AND TAKE ME!!!!!!????

To everybody who's like "doesn't that need nails" you can see he nailed the previous row, and the tabs are on the opposite side. The video ends with him pulling out a hammer and sinking, what I imagine is, the first nail going entirely down the roof, just like he did on the other side.

Its astonishing how many people arent looking at the video clearly enough. You can clearly see every step panel is getting a nail in it by the course next to it. Hes nailing the top off last because theres no piece above it to hold ot down. He then proceeds to nail them off as he goes down to grab the next pile of panels to install. Simple as that. Its like making freaking pb&j. You dont grab the peanut butter out of the fridge, grab a butter knife and then open the loaf of bread to grab one slice and then close it up, then opem the peanut butter, spread it, put all the things back and then repeat it but with the jelly. The worlds coming to a age where basic understanding of things is diminishing.

Everyone of them are nailed. Each tab has 1 nail. Look at the ones he already had down, and then look at the tabs on the ones you see him slide in. He knows what he is doing. The metal shingles slide and lock and the nail he puts in them on the way back down, locks everything in. Good work !!

I have an Interlock roof which is similar and I love it. It's been through 3 bad hail storms in Minnesota with no damage while neighbors shingles got destroyed. Rain is slightly more noticeable but I find it's not so much louder but just a different pitch. Plus it's lifetime warranty and always looks brand new.

I guess you nail the right and the left locks on the next shingle. Looks alot nicer that typical metal roof.
