And it is hard for those too young not to have these greats entertaining us to understand that we would all watch as a family, perhaps Dad would hum along and now I look back on those times with fondness.
Indeed . Those glorious cherished moments are gone but it’s such a fabulous thing that we have technology which through likes of you tube brings these moments so easily to us !!
We knew Perry for many years and he was a warm, humble and talented friend who we miss very much. We thank God that he will always live on forever in his music, Love Jeff and Linda
Mmm.. This is so subtle. Perry was a master at interpreting a lyric. It was one of the biggest thrills of my life was meeting one of my heros and when I watched him sing The Father of Girls in rehearsal I though I'd died and gone to heaven. A special performer and a special man.
Reminds my dad who sounded very simular when we sang together, when he was young and I was a little girl miss him so much, tears 😭 when I hear this master of song 💕 so romantic. Just wish I had the tapes of us singing bk in the 60s.. I'm on own now family gone, but have these memories❤..
I remember watching Perry Como at this Royal Variety show in 1974 and I was only 9 at the time. I've been a fan of his ever since. A beautiful performance from a singing legend.
I'm a middle age filipino man. Since my teenage years i learned to love Perry Como's songs. My stress is relieved everytime i hear his soothing and calming golden voice..❤
What a magnificent singer.Perry sings this lovely song with so much emotion and feeling. His rendition is absolutely brilliant.I have never heard this song performed as well as he does in this clip from the Royal Variety Show.He was such a wonderful singer with the voice of an angel.Absolutely perfect.Best version of this song ever so effortless and smooth by the best singer ever.
We saw Mr C live about five times and met him after one performance at the Kansas State Fair in Topeka in 1966. He sent the standard for pop singers Great talent and sincere, humble gentleman.
A very special song. Perry was also a very nice man - whose influence went down the generations. Lisening to this i think of my greatest love whom i lost and who i now know is facing bereavement. Thankyou Perry.
My mother and father broke up when I was just 4 years old and my father played this particular song over and over again due to the sentiment within and whenever I hear this song it always reduces me to tears. By the way , in 1974 I was 4 years old.
Monica 81 I love him he was the perfect man. Back in Puerto Rico when I was a teenager I used to watch his show every week. Sooooo long ago but I still cry when I see him and here his wonderful voice. Even though he’s gone he will always be in my heart.
