The most amazing song ... It was sung at my parents wedding 97 years ago... God bless them today and always... always thinking of them and hope to meet them again in heaven...Dorne
Amen ! You are right . We didn't lose our parents and our other loved ones . They are in a much better place waiting for us to join them one glorious day . When we all get to heaven , what a day of rejoicing that will be !
My Mother taught me to play this song on the piano more than 60 years ago ... it's the only song I can play by heart and think of her whenever I do ....
My brother sang this without music for my fiancé and I as I walked up the aisle with my parents to marry my love, in 1996. October will be 25 years for us. The most perfect of songs and sentiments. 👰🏻🤵🏻💐 Perry Como did such a wonderful job.
That's so sweet this was my parents wedding song when they got married October 16th 1960 unfortunately they're both deceased but the song is very beautiful and it's funny because my mother was born in Palermo Sicily in which she did have an accent such as the lyrics talk about accent lol I agree Perry did a wonderful job with singing this beautiful song❤
I play this song that was recorded in 1956, the year I married my wife who passed away in February. Never a day passes when I don't think of our love. I m struggling to live without her. I play Perry Como songs for her, they say every, thing I feel for her, God Bless see you soon.
Mike, I am 61 years old and was married for 31 years. My husband passed away 3 years ago . I recently became engaged to a man who was married for 44 years. And lost his wife two years ago today. I feel your pain and your joy. I am planning on using this song for our wedding. It speaks volumes. I didn't think I would ever find happiness again. Although it is still very different. It fills a very very huge hole that I had in my heart. May God bless you and keep you strong. Don't ever give up! All my blessings, Dee
Oh I'm so sorry Michael you'll always have beautiful memories of your wife always keep those and smile and cry when you have to...memories are forever ❤❤
I’m so sorry for your loss , this was played at my first wedding to my late husband . We got married very young and he was killed in the line of duty on his 29th birthday … my grandmother picked this song for our wedding
Best rendition by a non operatic singer, but when Mario Lanza sang this, he touched my very soul, never heard any other singer popular or operatic that was able to do that.
I grew up in an Italian house with opera, old Italian classics, and Italian American music and singers. My parents had me later in life, so I was much different than other kids my age. And now, I am the only one around me who knows any of this type of music, so I enjoy it at night alone and reminisce about mom and dad, being a kid, and feeling them close.
Aloha Perry Como and furn738 !!!! Love this iconic serenade !!!! Have followed your career even now at age 79 years old. You are my hero and idol. R. I. P. my friend !!!!!l Love, Robert S.J. Hu February 5, 2021.
Such a beautiful performance of this great song by this magnificent singer. The way he conveys the feeling and emotion with his beautiful voice is just brilliant. The way he glides from the softest notes to the loudest is really quite wonderful. So melodic throughout.Never fails to move me when I listen to him sing.Just superb in every way.
This song was written in 1902 . Perry Como's recording of this song is great . Mario Lanza's recording of "Because" is also great. The beautiful words in this song convey a lot of emotion. I'm sure a lot of people feel that way.
Oh wow thank you for the information I didn't know this was written in 1902 I'm sure if I read the history of it like you did I know that thank you for sharing this was my parents wedding song October 16th 1960 fortunately they're both deceased for some time now but I can't help but cry when I hear this song the words are just so beautiful and the way Perry sings it is outstanding❤
Aloha Perry Como and furn738 !!! Thanks for posting "Because." This is truly a beautiful heart-wrenching love song !!!! I can feel Perry Como's passion for love and living !!!! Grateful fan, Robert S.J. Hu Aug. 28, 20p20.

All I wanted to do was be with my girl friend, instead I'm sitting on the couch watching "The Perry Como Show" on TV. Well we have been married for 61 years so it all turned out ok. And I have a great appreciation for Mr. Como. Thank You
I love this song. It was sang by one of my Senior Citizens. He was 98 when I met him and turned 100 and passed away shortly after. He dedicated this song to his beloved wife. RIP Marv.
Found this song as a new widow of the love of my life if 23yrs. my dear Gord and i were only good friends when one day he told me he wanted me to he his wife. Because i didnt see him in that light & didnt want to hurt such a sweet man of God, i told him id pray about it. So i stayed true to my word. Over time he would joke and say, i dont know why God hasn't told u yet but He told me you'd marry me. Mind u he was serious but was a playful man with a wonderful sense of humor. One day a visitor came to church and i told her she inspired me because of her worship for the Lord. She had a stroke and struggled with her speech and standing but would droo her cane to raise her hands and worship Jesus. Without misssing a beat she practically commanded me to marry gord. oh man did he have a huge smile when he heard her say that. he said if that's not a sign, i dont know what is. i panicked. I loved him so much as a friend but didnt see us like that. i also was a lil scared because i knew we'd have some very difficult struggles we'd have to endure. Gord had a brain aneurysm at age 21 b4 i knew him. He was left in a coma and almost died. He had 2 serious brain surgeries but by the grace of God survived. He would end up spending the rest of his life requiring the use of a wheelchair And have some issues with memory and other things as well. He would require a great deal of help and I was worried I wouldn't be able to provide everything he needed. I had injured my back causing long-term chronic sciatic nerve pain. But one day God just opened my heart and gave me a love for him that I knew only could come from the Lord. I told Gord I wouldn't tell him I love him! Unless I really meant it. That day I could finally say it. Throughout our entire marriage, gord would always say to me I've never doubted you loved me because you never said it and told me you wouldn't until you meant it. That's why this song means so much to me Hearing it now! My husband was definitely a gift from God and it was only by God's grace that we come together and loved one another like we did. And I still do. Now I just long to be joined again with him and our precious savior. It's difficult to find any meaning in this life without him. Now. I'm 56 but I feel like I've lived two lifetimes with everything we've gone through together.
Andrew used to sing this to me from the day we were married....right upto a month before he passed on ......the last time....he just held me close & spoke these beautiful words in my ear.....such was his love for me. Thank you my Lord, for letting me experience this kind of love for 40 yrs...from someone....21 years senior to me. .....The man I love !
The song "Because", to be honest, is a Soprano/Tenor material. One of the best romantic ballad vocalist with international credentials, gave a superb performance, & the powerful high notes at the end was amazing.
No, I am not 'close minded.' Bob Young was a classically trained tenor with a similar style to Mario Lanza. Perry Como had a very pleasant voice but he was known as a 'crooner.' Different styles altogether.
Exactly, so don't compare apples to oranges. Como's phrasing, intonation was excellent perhaps second only to Sinatra and vastly superior to tenors. Comparing baritones to tenors is nonsensical.
+Lyn Jazz Well... first off Como's 1947 (released 1948) recording was a significant recording in his career and certainly popularized the English version of this song... and one should remember Como's 44 years old here... 9 years earlier his voice had more resilience at the upper reaches of his register and tonally more depth... to my ear, at least, he's more than capable of singing this in 1956... take care... P
Your talking nonsense,Perry had a wonderfull voice,a crooner he was but boy could he hit those high notes.plus his diction intonation and quality in his voice was THE best.
@@joeblack8915That’s right! No one has been able to top or even match Mario Lanza’s recording of this song, and that includes Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo. Lanza owns this song.
