This song was written by lyricist Buddy Kaye and composer Ted Mossman. The melody is based on Frédéric Chopin's Polonaise in A flat major, Op. 53 -- the "Polonaise héroique."
For over 70 years have always loved to listen to Perry Como's fantastic interpretation of this most beautiful CHOPIN's composition. Will continue to love to listen to it till the end of time....my time !.
On this day in 2001 {May 12th} Perry Como, aka Pierino Ronald Como, passed away at the age of 88... Between 1943 and 1974 he charted 145 times; his first hit was "Goodbye, Sue", it reached #20 on the charts in 1943... His last charted record was "Christmas Dream" in 1974, it peaked at #92... He had seven #1 records; his biggest hit was in 1945, "Till The End of Time", and on September 15th, 1945 it reached #1 for a nine week stay... May he R.I.P.
I play this song as a reminder of my lovely wife it came out when we first met in 1956. I have loved her ever since we met , married for 63 years, the bond got stronger every year, but God took her home where all angels are in Feb 2020 I haven,t been the same I cry every day for what we had. Love you Unita always xxx Mick.
This is how a great singer delivers a song. Even though he may have performed this song hundreds of times previously, he looks like he is thinking of the words to say to his love as he sings it here.
What a voice, i'm a guy born in mid 90's but music and songs like this and more from the past makes me and gets me emotional. That voice of Perry Como himself makes me want to fall in love, i feel like i was in a movie theater and watching a classic and vintage love story movies.
Our daughter is named Tina Marie & as Perry sang the song at 2 years old she would hug that old round screen Zenith Tv. His voice goes straight to heart.
My first recollection of Perry was his recording of. " Since you were sweet sixteen " .That record was my first devotion to the crooners of the day. A song that I always carried in my memory chest. Times!!!!! T.Heslop.UK.
Perry was my first introduction to the world of Pop as the then teenagers knew it.The jukebox was where we heard all the latest talent and Perry was always up there at the top.He was my favourite crooner, ,way ahead of Sinatra.Memories T.Heslop. UK..
I actually feel sorry for the younger generations today. Most, if not all of them never heard of Perry Como. They don't know what true talent or music is. They listen to "singers" today that have what I call a prison voice. Behind a few bars and short a key. They depend on theatrics and computers to enhance their voice. What came out of Perry Como's voice is what you heard. True talent. Miss singers like him and so many others from the past.
Yes what passes for "music" these days & for a while now is the "singers" trying to out yell the instruments and the instruments attempting to drown out the lyrics. Unfortunately for real music lovers...........neither one is successful!
With all due respect, music is relative. I bet older people in the 50s and 60s had the same critique of emerging pop music back then. People who were raised with vaudeville music, hillbilly, or ragtime might not have liked emerging pop, especially since pop helped replace instruments with singing as the focus of music. AND so the cycle continues as people my generation get older, so shall we critique the coming evolution of music and new genres. I hope that doesn't happen to me as I've learned to appreciate music through time.
After Bing, I can't decide who is next: The Great Perry Como or the great baritone Dick Haymes. I love them all. Perry is exquisite on his phrasing, and voice. A life well-lived, as many have said.
Till the end of time long as stars are in the blue long as there's a spring of birds to sing i'll go on loving you. Till the end of time, long as roses bloom in May, my love for you will grow deeper with every passing day. Till the wells run dry, and each mountain disappears, i'll be there for you to care for you through laughter and through tears. So take my heart in sweet surrender and tenderly say that I'm the one you'll love and live for till the end of time.
These were the days when we would go dancing Saturday nights and play Perry on the juke box before the dance .We really enjoyed ourselves and never realised it . Much slower times.Being Young really was something. T.Heslop. UK..
Aloha Perry Como and furn738 !!! Thanks for posting "Till The End Of Time." Love your singing for over 68 years now. A humble fan, Robert S.J. Hu P.S. Perry Como: You have blessed my life over 1,0000 times !!! August 26, 2020.
incomparable! sure do miss you, Perry, you were the one others should have measured themselves against...such class, such high ethics, such moral beliefs... so missing today....thank you for posting his beautiful songs..
I second what you said, Rebecca. Perry Como could sing! Miss him and so many others that have passed on. At least we can hear them sing by clicking onto You Tube or like me, listening to them on records.
This live performance by Mr. C is absolutely first-rate (no surprise) and perhaps it’s even better than his recorded version (quite impressive). He made singing look so easy-just like one is breathing.
Beautiful song, which proves popular music back then, was so much better than what is being played on most radios today. I like how he sings the song, with a natural talent an a great voice, and the orchestra plays good, so it is a good song to listen.
This brings tears to my eyes. I was born the year Perry sang this song that made him a major star. Then later he starred on his own TV show that originally was only 15 minutes. Yes, there were a few 15 minute shows in the very early days of tv. Then in no time he was on for a full hour. He was part of my childhood. A true bright shining star with a wealth of character and talent. I still love him and I am 78 now.
Billboard USA #1 Song of 1945! The Song of Hope at the culmination of World War II by no less than the Perry Como, the Greatest Pop Singer of them all.
I collect vinyl...im 37 years old, but really don't care for today's music...i just find it ignorant and degrading to women...there's no soul or passion in it. My 7 year old daughter loves Perry Como and Louis Armstrong ♡♥. She goes vinyl digging with me at the thrift store, and has a decent sized collection of her own vinyl. It melts my heart. She couldn't tell you who Britney Spears or Taylor Swift is, but she bawled her eyes out, when i told her Aretha Franklin died ♡ Tom Waits is our favorite musician, and i absolutely love sitting with her, in front of the fireplace, with Perry Como spinning on the turntable. U gotta teach them young. Merry Christmas, everyone !!
Perry Como was Jerry Vale's idol and very good friends, yet Perry Como never invited Jerry to perform on any of Perry's television shows, I wonder why, think about it, makes no sense, one doesn't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.
Congrats to Tom Brady and the Patiots,as for the half time show,i actually feel sorry for the young,Lights ,Lyrics ,Tatoos,we had Crosby Sinatra and Perry Como Simple,no flashiing lights,no tatoos,,Beautiful Lyrics,he did not have to strip to his underware, sorry,Sorry ,I AM 87 AND WOULD NOT CHANGE Places with ihem
Perry gave us the smoking gun on Obama during his Chesterfield sponsored show:He used to sing "Fifty,Nifty,United States" on a regular basis after Hawaii was admitted to the Union. If Obama really were from Hawaii,he would have known that the USA still has only 50 states, not 57 as he claimed in 2008.
