In "Perry White's Scoop," editor Perry White plants a story that he hopes will bring the crooks into the open. And it works almost too well but for Clark Kent and his his friend Superman.
The way they made Superman look super , back in the early days of TV technology, was just awe inspiring. As a kid watching this every week, it was my favorite thing to see Superman act super. The only improvement was in 1978, when they made the claim that "you'll believe a man can fly" ... the movie studio delivered on that promise.
The Superman Theme music and narration are burned into the memories of every person who watched Superman as a kid. Interestingly, his powers were closer to the original powers as depicted in the first comic books, except for the flying. As the narration says, "able to LEAP tall buildings in a single bound," not fly all over the Earth and into space.
Was a generational love hate relationship. But the episode when they were on the fishing trip and stayed at the old hotel was more like an uncle nephew relationship.
@@blah064 The episode you are referring to The Evil Three the opening scene where Perry & Jimmy are arguing about the mosquitos is hilarious! Love hate whatever it worked for the show & it felt genuine. The rest of that episode was also fantastic.
For once, Jimmy Olsen was the sensible one: “They’re liable to come to us the way they came to that diver - with bullets!” White’s grand strategy got him and Kent trapped in the gymnasium! (Guess who had to solve the problem . . .) Jimmy showed some guts, too! Kent crushes the helmet and White says, “I’ll never get that thing over my head!” Olsen retorts with, “Oh, I don’t know!” Excellent episode from the second year.
