"Perseverance" is the story of a mouse, cheese, and overcoming challenges.
This animation began as a Genius Hour passion project for a business class in high school, but I produced most of it on my own time. Thanks to my teacher, Mr. Lapp, for helping me start it and to my family for their patience. I hope you enjoy it!

This is so adorable, thank you so much for blessing my eyes with this. I love that cute mouse and it's determination to get that cheese sm its crazy but my fav part is when it tipped over the box and when it took a bite of the cheese, the look on it's face was so cute like "Yes, I finally got it!"

Thank you! I used Krita for the illustration and animation. It's free and intuitive, and they even upgraded their animation suite since I made this.

Sorry, I cannot seem to find the storyboard I made, but I'll share it with you if I do. What I do remember: My first storyboard involved nearly twice as many shots as you see in the final product. After production began, I realized that I had drastically overcommitted and whittled the shot count down to 16.

Sure! I used Krita's software for all the illustration and animation, then a bit of After Effects and Premiere for compositing and editing. I plunked out the piano and made most sound effects myself, with a little help from freesound.com... and no animation training course or lessons were needed either; all the animation and editing skills were self-taught.
