Persimmon Homes Unhappy Customers - Rip Off Britain - 3/10/19 

It’s a wonder why people buy from these companies, I just wonder how long these house will last. Looking at the video, at the start where it shows the crack in the bricks doesn’t look like shoddy workmanship it looks look some sort of subsidence, no expert but doesn’t look good.

I work for persimmon homes.First let me apologize for your situation.The reason persimmon homes have sub standard work is because the houses are thrown up at quick speed.The trades all work on price and the management and the sales reps get a bonus for every house thats finalized. Once you have signed that survey to say that you are happy or not the build sector will not do anything for you,they will fob you off to sales,and sales will promise you the earth and fob you off with its buils fault.Most of the management I've worked for are heartless out of touch aresholes.I'll go to work tomorrow and take the money as im just a small cog in the wheel.But just thought I'd let you know we on the ground who work for persimmon homes think they are a terrible company too.Once again sorry you had such a bad experience.

I’m in a housing association and didn’t have the choice, I had to move in. I work full time and I have children too. The first day we moved in, we had sewage coming up through out kitchen sinks, one of our bedroom windows isn’t fitted in properly, my outside wall is damp and it’s come through to the house due to no drainage, I don’t have the right insulation, no fire cavity in the loft, my boiler leaks a green/blue substance and my downstairs toilet constantly leaks. 4 years of phone calls, and even persimmon said they’ll come out and Inspect, but I’m still waiting. I have a child with really low immunity, which gets triggered by the cold. I was a week without any hot water and heating and she ended up in hospital twice! I’m having a survey done soon by a private builder and I’ve been told to contact the NHBC (think that’s right) to see what they can help with. Which means more money gone!

@@pebblespop9053 Yeah contact the NHBC. They give a 10 year warranty on all new homes on when it was first built. Get everything done through them. I wish you the best with getting your problems sorted because that’s absolutely ridiculous how persimmon have barely helped you out.

I worked for persimmon for two years worst builder ever went through six site agents while I was building for them what does that tell you stay well clear and buy an older property

@@saintjude8029 the concerns is that Persimmon will put money before health and safety standards. People are putting their savings into a home that should be finished completely to a safe and satisfactory standard, yet they're not being given this. When things do go wrong, Persimmon (and other companies) are not responding in a timely manner to get these defects rectified. It's all about money, how much can we charge for this with spending very little? It's disgusting. We bought a Persimmon home in 2018. We were bullied by them saying if we do not complete by a particular date, we would not receive the incentive they offered. That was beyond our control as it was to do with the mortgage company releasing funds. We had nothing but problems. Doors would not close properly, walls not straight, water leaks, heating problems, the list went on. I'm not having a go at you, please don't feel this is a dig. We managed to sell our home very recently and our experience is to never go back to a new build purely because of these reasons.
