Hey Brad, you should put your music on youtube, great tonality and a very crisp sound. There's a ton of guitar channels that would welcome your style. You don't have to be a shredder to have subs lol. Anyway great finds been following since the beginning.

*(You may like this one)* I wondering if you video a show annually that reviews your finds all cleaned and with any additional info on the item and/or location of the find. I'm have one of my degrees in History and continue to research and take History classes, particularly Ancient History. The area you are actively digging in hold a vast early American History, as we all know., however, I hold a view/opinion/Knowing that is gaining greater numbers of researchers in agreement as what I've labeled: Authentic History, that literally describes the model and it is that simplistic. It refers to: acknowledgement of *"all artifacts, fossils/skeletons, written/recorded texts and other forms of recorded writings, and most importantly, the recognition of Oral Histories having equal value to those recorded. Oral Histories actually tend to have a potentially far greater accuracy due to the fact they are handed down by the people they describe, whereas histories written tend to be by the Victors. With reasonable judgement one can use these histories as a reference and often finds and research are validating many of these. With that in mind let me briefly describe the opposite history mindset. That would be held by the "Mainstream Academia". Mainstream largely holds the linear view, it supports the Darwinian View aka Darwin Theory and limits history to a more 19th Century perspective. They do not consider all finds, are stringent on their set Timeline of History, largely/always refer to Oral History as Myth or Folklore (largely due to the parameters of their Timeline and lack of more accurate interpretation of the historical descriptions and language translations weaknesses, Note: this is noticeable in the modern versions of the Christain and Judaic Bibles, they each have inaccurate references to the more original writings and is far more observable in the Christain versions, particularly the Hebrew to Greek and also Latin to Greek). Let me make one other reference to this point and I'll move on to the greater subject. Those that adhere to the Mainstream perspective in Academia are outside what is held as the Standards and Ethics for Research and Data Analysis in Science and the concept of the Ethical Science Standard if Thoughts, which would be: there must be no variance of interpretation due to personal opinion and beliefs. The research model is designed to achieve the greater facts towards truth. It is a requirement to keep Science free of opinion based statements. This includes the subject researched being a model of statement and research allowing the artifacts and data to unfold the fact findings. Advised not to seek to prove a predetermined opinion and this can be challenging in Philosophical and Logic but Theory is a hypothesis with the required components met to proceed with research. Theories are not proven facts but many can be. The Darwin subject Remains Theory and has been largely priven inaccurate although the Darwinian Mainstream Academics have observable become quite "Religious" about their belief. My reference from previous Writing a in the subject: *"The Darwinian Mainstream Academics continue to try to put Cinderella's Shoe on Drucella's Foot."* (this captures the entire concept of the subject) you can chuckle here, it was part of the intention. One of my other degrees is Journalism. 😉 It is neither Professiinal nor Scientific to ignore artifacts nor to seek to discredit an individual due to petty Fraternal opinions and fears. Now, the subject point: in your area of the USA A number of finds, including those chiseled in 1st One, have given a much different potential story to history that the Mainstream's Columbus and 1492. 2 major points: there was seafaring to N America going on throughout time, recorded and not recorded time. Meaning people other than Native Americans and even some whom became particular tribes of East Coast Native Americans can be observed through artifacts, Oral Histories, and now DNA. Now that is a Huge Statement and it is not, nor to my knowledge has it been, a Lead Line\Title on Mainstream News Media. But with that associated data, it has fully met my "Authentic Acadamic Standards of Science and History" (and I breathe ... Its a required explanation to those whom may not be aware of the findings, to explain before making a reference they may otherwise consider "nutty") Now, my reference and Question. Be alert to possible unique finds and be ever so particular should you find one that's Outside of Mainstream Dogma. For instance, there's a "Black hole in the Smithsonian" where artifacts that don't match the *"Mainstream Paradigm"* go missing. Never call to share with them. I'm not certain who would be a reputable resource but I know Dr Robert Schoch, GeoPhysicist with Boston University (graduate of Yale University) is most Ethical and found himself in the opposite side if the table from his Mainstream Peers on more than 1 iccassiin. Note: Dr Schoch accurately and with Peer Reviewed Journal validation, dated the Egyptian Sphynx to a minimum of 11,000 BC rather than the Mainstream date of around 3000 BC. It has weathering that absolutely dates to an era of routine rainfall in the rregion that left verticle wearing marks in the geographical material of the Sphynx. My hypothesis us that if the area you are in, particular to other finds known, were dug deep enough, there would be a number if artifacts emergectgat would validate that prior to 1492 and prior to appx 9000 BC evidence of inhabitations would be evident. I wanted share this with you because you never know what can possibly emerge from the ground due to earth movement, and then find itself a mere 6 inches below the soil or even up to the surface. Clearly digging a well or to lay pipes has unearthed objects and they are part of those ignored by Mainstream. Our reality is 2 fold, the story and the facts. I do encourage at least an annual review if your finds and a bit if History to match their location. That's my comments for ya and I enjoy watch your treks through nature. Enjoy and be safe. Like to see t's with a friend, its more fun for ya and it is safer. After all, I'm a Mom too. 😁 Best Wellbeing ...

I've got a spoon l shaped just like that. I was taught to do it by the man who taught me to cast bullets. Before I had a lead pot with a dispensing lever. You dip the molten lead out of the pot with it and use it as a tiny funneling device to poor the lead into the mold with that spoon. It was probably pinned to a small wooden handle with that nail because it gets really hot. Mine's handle is wrapped with burlap soaked in plaster of paris.

Just think the spoon you found with nail hole is from old trick , the flat area holds to wall tight and the spoon neck can be bent to go away from wall , the taper on spoon then can hold a diff size candle base and away from wood wall far enough to be safely used daily , old spoon no longer in use where made to do many odd jobs rather than tossing them off ! Always a great time watching your videos ! My mother always told me of lady slippers when she lived in the east , but I never found any in western states out in woods ! Brad, you missed your calling. U really should've been a forester!!!! As a forester, walking around in the woods all day marking or measuring trees or gps'ing boundary lines, etc is what I did almost every day. Best job ever!!!! I've found some cool old spots in the woods and have found all kinds of neat "artifacts" over the years. I just wish I had a metal detector years ago and there's no telling what I could've found (I never would've gotten any work done though!!). In watching this video, I can't help but think that the person who lived there may have been a bell maker?? It would be interesting to see if u go back if u find any molds. It's a little odd to find so many bells and possibly some horse tack but not a single horseshoe?? That is civil war era time so it kind of makes u wonder if the person went off to war & never made it back home and his property was just abandoned?? Very interesting finds!!!! I love your videos!!
@paulweisgerber7654
@paulweisgerber7654 4 года назад
That’s an interesting theory, and it could be the curled spoon Brad found was used to pour the molten metal into a bell mould, and not for bullets as some here have suggested. The lack of horseshoes is a great catch, and since Brad finds those almost everywhere, it possibly supports your theory. Brad will have to inspect the spoon for residue, and that might clear up a question or two.

I always have to wonder when someone finds numerous bells intact, or silverware or anything else like that from 200 years ago. Did the house burn down, and they didn't sift through the ashes looking for useable items? Did the person die, and no one knew? Being old, and thrifty, I know I would have never let a lot of those items just lie around, or leave them behind if I moved. Things were too difficult to come by back then.

Brad, I checked with some of my more knowledgeable work horse friends and they seem to be in agreement that the iron piece that you found was part of the breeching strap for a harness. The three way iron piece might be something to hold up a horses tail that goes across the back of the harness. I looked further into that bolster for a saw handle that you believe is for a scythe. They are called Atkin's saw handles and I found a photo on e-bay showing what they look like, just in case you should change your mind!

It's funny that the orchid looks alot like Guckussko (Cypripedium calceolus) which grows in wetlands/bogs here in Sweden. And grows in big groups.

EARTH ANGEL ♥️. 😬! Sorry 😐. Your bell was a bell 🛎 attached directly onto a leather strap by the top where that red was, along with many other sleigh 🔔 bells. I believe that the “odd” fancy ,questionable iron object was the “central” point of a martingale ( chest guard) for a 🐴 horse, although I’ve never see an iron one!!!!! One strap would weave through each side slot and up over the horse’s shoulders, and usually there would be another strap going through the circle ⭕️ under the belly. 👍🐴🔔🎋

poets.org/poem/bells Edgar Allan Poe's thoughts on the subject. Your lady slipper IS a Wild Orchid, and they grow individually. I agree with others: the spoon could be any number of very specific tools. With it being hung on a nail, I'd go with Candle Holder.

If you get onto the upper part of Alabama, please look for my people, named Palmer and kin to Davy Crocket. I'd just like to know. My family refused to be part of the Civil(uncivil) war but were buried in Southern uniforms. I have no way of knowing closely where they were buried but they were buried in Southern uniforms(officers, even though they wanted nothing of the war). I'd love to find out about their burial plots. Thanks much for all you do for we Texans.

Ladyslippers ARE orchids, so you're right. Pretty things, aren't they? And they're weird, even for orchids (which are weird in general.) Their seeds have to sort of bond with a specific type of fungus that gives them what they need to grow and sprout, and this helps the fungus to propagate too; how's that for strange? And the seeds can lie dormant for freaking ages, too. I saw them in the woods of Alabama; didn't know they grew as far north as Vermont, but the ones I saw looked pretty much just like what you've got growing there, though a bit smaller. Moving on... HOLY CRAP, BELLS! I wonder if any of them were ever mounted on a sleigh?

This place is a ringer! We've got farm land in nys across from Burlington where general Patton camped and did maneuvers in 1939. Bells, buttons, and enough brass to make money. You do a great job with the property break down .....You're a very good speaker🍻. I pan in VT so the bent spoon is a crevice tool 🙃

That's the first Lady Slipper you've ever seen in the woods? Well, I guess you now know why they are protected! NEVER pick one or, pick a broken one up in the woods If caught with one you will find yourself in court and paying a very hefty fine!

" Lady slipper is indeed in the orchid family .pretty plant Cypripedium acaule can be found in the eastern third of the United States, particularly in the Great Lakes Region and the Northeast in New Hampshire and Maine, south along the Appalachians to Alabama. It is widespread in Canada, where it is found in every province except British Columbia. It also occurs in the Northwest Territories and in St. Pierre & Miquelon.[12][13] Within its geographic range, it can be found in a wide variety of environments, from coastal plains, to pine barrens, to mountaintops. C. acaule requires highly acidic soil but tolerates a range of shade and moisture, though it prefers at least partial shade and well-drained slopes. It is usually found in pine forests, where it can be seen in large colonies, but it also grows in deciduous woods. It was long speculated that a fungus association was needed for growth,[14] and that C. acaule could not be artificially cultivated outside of these associations. However, a greater understanding of orchids in general has shown that this association is only needed to germinate orchid seeds and is not required once plants begin making true leaves.

Lady's slippers are orchids in the genus Cypripedium, but they aren't necessarily endangered or especially rare. There are several species found in the US, and that looks to be the Pink Lady's Slipper (aka Mocassin Flower), the most common lady's slipper, found over a broad expanse of the Eastern US and Canada. There still may be state and local laws protecting them, and they should definitely not be picked, as the plant produces few blossoms, or dug, as they are hard to transplant and tricky to grow. Like most wildflowers, they should be left for the enjoyment of all.

I'm a week late seeing this. Man! I missed this joy-filled afternoon. But, thankful you document your days, Brad. You guys have to go back and plan the entire day there. I'm wondering about that 'horsetack' . Could it possibly be from pants suspenders! If the single hole went down the back to the waistband, while the two slanted slots has straps up and over the shoulders. Just a thought.
