I know I’m super late, but I’m pretty sure that’s the plot of P5D, Caroline and Justine make the group dance cause they don’t want to admit Elizabeth’s group is the better dancers
it is still so hilarious to me that for the p3 and p5 dancing games theyre like oh these arent canon and also theyre all dreaming the whole time. meanwhile p4d is like they CAN actually dance this good and also they HAVE TO or else shadows will defeat them
You’re probably joking, but the truth is that the whole opening animated by a single guy, Norimitsu Suzuki. Excluding a few exceptions, 2D animators in Japan are paid per cut and not by hour, so even if some cuts take more time to animate, it’s not really more expensive.
@@Levleup He did the direction, storyboard and key animation all by himself, but since he works at Studio Bones, he was of course supported by other roles (inbetweeners, digital colorists, compositors, etc.) Suzuki is kind of famous for doing this kind of one-man bulk work on anime endings. Other examples of such work of his are all the Soul Eater endings, the first ending of Highschool DxD, and most recently the ending of Godzilla: Singular Point.

I think p4 and p5 are a jojo reference bc p4 is around finding a killer And the other is being a gangster And p1and p2 are underrated just like in jojo
UnderdogReviews Y'know, I'd see it as a good way to save time. Would you really take the time to draw every frame for a single repeated dance that shows for about five seconds? When you think about it, that's be putting a bit way too much work into a single segment. Now I understand what you're getting at, but I should agree that companies also do this to fasten their pace to work on other projects. Otherwise we'd have be waiting for Persona 5 until 2020 or something.
I tried but I failed so heavily at it I had to follow a damn guide to know how to proceed (my mind went totally blank). Any tips of how to learn how to play the franchise?

So many years later and this is still one of my most favorite animations ever. They really managed to make every character interesting and aesthetically appealing

I'm surprised how much I enjoyed this game. I figured I'd just play through it to see the story but I ended up finding it surprisingly addicting. It ended up being my first platinum trophy
You lack of knowledge in order to prevent it happend, lack understanding, every move is crucial and lack of dilligent to repeat it day by day to actually overcome that move
I've watched this over 30 times within the last two days purely due to the animation at 0:48 and onward. It's just so fluid, and all of the characters' parts just flow together so nicely (+ Yosuke's death drop is to die for)
Same. This is probably my favourite Persona-related OP with Dark Sub (the second OP of P5 anime). It's simply amazing in quality and it's the OP that makes the party really feel a group. Not saying that the other doesn't do the trick in showing them, but this one in particular shows them as a group. That sequence in particular with how every move is connected to the one before and the one after, combined with the fact that their outfits are personalized but still look like a "uniform" for a dancing group (with Rise being a singer and therefore different from the dancers) is amazing. P5 dancing Is probably even better, it's full of small details and the animation Is obviously even better, but the strength in telling you "Ehy, here Is the party, look how cool they are" Is too much

Rise: Female version of Yu. Chie: When everyone is dancing and you want to socialize, so you decide to just play along. Kanji: When the whole crew doesn't know how to dance, so to save face, you bust out your moves Yukiko: When your taunt key gets stuck so you're in a loop. Hah, this opening was what got me into the Persona series. I was so mesmerized by the animation because 1) I'm an animator/artist, 2) I'm a huge sucker for jazz, and the song is SUCH a banger, so I went to my piano and tried making a cover for it immediately, and 3) I'm a dancer, and I was super impressed with the accuracy of the animation. Yukiko's fouette's are so immaculate and I loooved how you could see her landing. AND OH MY GOD NAOTO'S VOGUEING? KANJI'S BREAKDANCING?? THAT BIG SWEEPING SHOT FROM 0:47??? And I also thought Yosuke was really handsome lol. That hasn't changed. His death drop is so smooth and his smirk is cute. Anyways, Persona 5 Royal was on sale and I was like, "Hey, that's the same series as that cool animation opening I saw a little bit ago! Let's play it!" It's been well over a year now and I'm still obsessed.
Im not an animator, but the solo dances seem like they are traced over a reference with the weird shakey faces, and the proportions look a little strange to me lol, Doesnt make it any less awesome, just feels a little strange haha.
@@tannerted3920 A good amount of it is probably rotoscoping, and yes, there are some notable flaws (especially in the beginning) but I think it just adds to the charm tbh, though maybe I'm just nostalgia blind kkkkk
@@mimaimoo Yeah i agree its pretty charming. Only actual issue is that yosukes face moves around a little too much haha. The group sequence is incredible though.
