The most likely endgame of your little plan was a bullet between your eyes.

i truly feel with akechi during the first conversation. i get it, yusuke had horrible madarame to deal with BUT also had time to cope. yusuke turned that hate into acceptance. akechi on the other hand, had been hating shido for years compared to yusuke realized madarame’s crimes that day at the palace. shido has became an amalgamation of everything horrid in the world, and expecting him to have rationalized it and move on so soon is a little sudden. so in all honesty, i really take akechi’s side in the conversation. it really illuminates a very relatable and human side to him.

What's interesting about the Thieves' Den is that the people inside, the Thieves and the Confidants, are all cognitive beings based on Joker's perception. The fact that they're rather faithful to their real-life counterparts shows how deep their bond is with him, much like how the cognitive beings in Shido's Palace have deep ties to their leader. One thing that Joker and Shido share is their ability to have deep, meaningful connections with others for their own purposes.

I never realized how much of a dynamic Akechi and Yusuke have. For one, I sometimes noticed Yusuke mentions (somewhere in the game, I think in chat?) that he would have turned out the same way as Akechi did if it were not for the Phantom Thieves. And then for Akechi, at some point, he mentions "if only we had met earlier" to them, or at least, to Joker. And its so interesting because if you do think about it hard enough, they both could have walked the same path. Yusuke's story shows how being helped by others made him the "good" person he is, whereas Akechi is somehow the bad ending or outcome because he had no one help him when he was young, making him the "bad" guy he is. I'd like to believe that if Yusuke and Akechi interacted together alone, before or during the Shido's palace arc, he would have been one of the people who would have caught on and understood Akechi's hatred towards Shido before the others did.

It's cool we got Yoshida and Sojiro's thoughts on Shido as Sojiro knew him back in the day as would Yoshida. Although I was hoping that Ohya and Haru would give their thoughts too as it's because of Shido that Ohya's friend got framed for murder and went comatose whilst Haru's father being disposed of on live TV to frame the Thieves.

I have to agree with Akechi in the 1st convo, wile yes Yusuke did go threw some shit, Madarame never got him to kill anyone nor did he try to kill Yusuke. Wile what Yusuke went threw was rough he had time to get over it and had friends to sport him wile Akechi was alone. Yusuke also had someone to look after him (even if it was Madarame) were as akechi just went from Foster home to Foster home so u can imagine why he'd hate Shido so much especially since he put in no effort to help him and his mum

Would have personally loved to see what the likes of Maruki, Kasumi and Haru would say about Shido, but the conversation between Sojiro and Yoshida was great one.

Intense opening talk. Also liked Yoshida & Sojiro's. The girls recognizing Ryuji's key part & feeling bad over their attack was nice too. Thanks for posting these!

Very late, but I can't help point out how Yusuke is in the wrong in that first conversation. You think he'd be more open to Akechi's perspective on Shido after Madarame. And put bluntly, Yusuke went through nothing compared to Akechi it seems like Yusuke is just saying that to get on Akechi's nerves. He doesn't know at all. The versions that we see in the Thieve's Den aren't real of course, but Joker's perception of them. Joker seeing them as 'unable to get along' is all you can really take from this. I just don't think the real Yusuke would have that line of thinking. It just seems like scripted confrontationalism. Doesn't seem natural after all he's grown at that point in the story. It's just a reminder that these convo's aren't canon, I guess.

It's honestly uncommon for ATLUS to develop mighty villains without giving hints on their past lives. Strega from P3 and the Culprit from P4 I can totally get, but I wish we could speculate more about Shido. He is, after all, quite literally the reason of everything bad in Persona 5.

While I do appreciate these videos since it's not something I would take the time to do, I still find the way you go from one line to the next painfully slow. I literally find myself skipping all over the video trying to get to the next line cuz of how slow it is...

Will there be a video on all Kasumi conversations in the thieves den?

At least they finally acknowledged they beat up Ryuji too badly and just left him there like ungrateful bastards was finally addressed. They should've apologized to him or else they'd get either arrested or grounded for assaulting someone who risked his life to save them from death.

"I hate to admit it but he was tough.." What are you talking about ? Easiest boss in the game. Really anticlimactic, all that running around in the palace, searching for invitations, doing silly side quests, to face a boss that lasts 30 seconds? Was playing with a friend and he said : " don´t worry this is just a preview of the real fight.." Nope, that was it.
