And then have arsene and them fuse to make Satanael at the end of the 2nd semester. Kind of like saying "Hey, Once you enter the 3rd semester, Everyone can now unlock a new tier of persona, Just like joker"

If you compare the other confidant's 3rd-tier Personas, Raoul being third does make sense. It's Arsène's "unmasked" form, much like the other 3rd tiers are the "unmasked" forms of the confidant's 1st tier persona.
Yeah. Think of the theme of the third tier Personas as just basically a powered up version of the first tier ones. So Raoul fits. I do agree tho that Satanael looks more "grandiose" which makes it feel weird that Raoul is the third tier but I always preferred the Arsene aesthetic over Satanael so this is a win for me.

@@myheroandmadaralover2372 I run Raoul over Satanael because he’s great for Technicals. Yes, in all other categories Satanael has him beat, but there are easily even better damage dealing Personas you can switch to instead (Asterius, Izanagi-no-Okami , Kaguya, and Yoshitsune come to mind).

@@unknownv8castle266 he does it 80 percent of the times when you use raoul and 10 percent of the times when he dodges an enemy attack(blocking and repeling dont count) when i was fighting the twins solo he did that like 3 or 4 times
I love how everyone else has at least a scene with them awakening their 3rd tier, but Atlus didn’t know how to integrate Raoul, so they were just like ‘DLC’
I'm not sure this is true,but i remember that someone said that there was a cutscene at the final battle and Joker was supposed to have his 3rd awakening

Funny thing is there is official artwork you can get in-game (meaning no dlc) for Raoul, which means that there was a plan for Joker to Awaken to Raoul in the game
missed opportunity to make raoul's arcana (spoiler territory, turn back!) the world, since joker actually gets it at the end of the game this time. it only makes sense as the other third tier protagonist personas had the world arcana.
This is dlc? That's awful! They make us pay another whole $60 for the game and didn't just include everything? They want us to give them even more money?

He looks futuristic because joker and the phantom thieves 3rd tier personas are supposed to represent them looking toward the present and overcoming their past trauma. Well, that's what i think

I have a very rough and probably story-contradictory idea for how Raoul could've been put into the story: At the third Semester, Joker gets to keep Satanael(albeit without Sinful Shell for obvious reasons), and then in the fake reality, Joker's friends take far longer to break out of the fake world, leaving him to fight Maruki alone with Akechi. Then, Maruki has Sumire beat the shit out of Akechi, and Joker, completely demoralised that he has no one to fight alongside him, also loses, causing the 2 to be held prisoner in the palace. Joker then has to break out by realizing that he has his own power, and does not need the power of other arcanas, evolving Arsene and Satanael into Raoul, the true final persona of The Fool. Again, this is absolute garbage, but in my opinion, Joker himself should've been given an arc in the third semester which leads to him developing Raoul, instead of Raoul being dlc
Part of me thinks they didnt bring him back because of strikers weird powerscaling it probably wouldn't make too much sense but it seems satanel is a one time use, I still think joker is plenty strong with his metaverse boost, who knows maybe they'll do something for him in persona 5 arena or a different spin off
@@chibs1235 even if they did exist in strikers they would be in the orginal p5 where no 3 tiers exist and they would just have their classic personas anyway and even in spin offs yu uses izanagj final form in a final smash move in arena and if minato was in arena he would just use Orpheus or telos i hope but either way Liz would have thantos and would help minato with the messiah attack and launch the power of what the universe arcana can do maybe a great seal move which it traps them in a small space and hit by the holy light and blow up and then min thx liz but she hugs and kisses him on the cheek and leaves him but either way they won’t appear cause they don’t want to make the sl links seem cannon or they just form back to their original form if they haven’t used them for awhile and gets back to its prime once they got enough spirit energy that’s why sees have their personas in their ultimate forms cause they fight shadows constantly but the investigation team and phantom thieves don’t as they barely use their personas as they completed in saving the world but now don’t need the powers and the world of personas as there are no threats so they just act like normal humans while their personas grow weak and go back to their old selves while sees fights the shadow world and make humanity not think of death
Yeah I don't like it either. The whole thing about the Wild Card is that it derives power from Confidants. Arsene came to Joker to help Ryuji. Satanel came to Joker when the will of the masses wanted to be freed. Igor tells us that just how the Tricksters powers work. The thought that Raoul was born by forsaking his Confidants and using his own power is similar to what Akechi did. Which limited him to two Persona. And even then his 3rd Tier Persona is only unlocked when you agree to fulfill his wish of not being controlled even if it means his death. So yeah I'm not with it but I like the imagination but Joker is the pillar of ...... everybody if he forsake everyone the world would definitely be doomed
@@Valiant06 It's not that Joker completely abandons his friends, it's moreso that he discovers his own individual strength, and realizes that he is still extremely strong, even without his friends.
Well, Raoul is a Persona I’m definitely willing to buy. It looks so cool! Plus as far as we know, Joker is technically the only one that doesn’t awaken a third tier Persona through the story.
I mean in theory he seems like a beast the same way Orpheus tells was. His trait also does more weakness damage if you build him right plus technical damage is actually digusting now in royal.
Hazy Presence seems like the beat-suited trait for raoul, it makes sense for Joker and follow up attacks are so good. There are plenty of other personas with the relentless trait.
That actually would’ve been kinda cool. Imagine an all-out brawl between Satanael and Adam Kadmon ending in the latter’s victory, forcing Joker to awaken to Raoul.
They missed the oportunity to actually incorporate Raoul into the story. They could've made Joker awaken him during the last fight with Maruki and let the player to unlock him later at NG+ along with Satanael.
I feel like if we could have gotten a 2nd, and 3rd tire persona for Joker these would be how to get them. if you keep Arsen you level him up to a certain level, but you also have to max out the phantom thieves to get their 2nd tire, and for the third one that’s gonna be harder, you have to max out all confidants, everyone has to be rank 10, and the 2nd tire persona would have to be max as well, once you do that third tire persona, and it gets new stats, and abilities. That’s what I think then just making it dlc
Ok.. Raoul is a cool Persona, that I can see. But Yu is called “Investigation Team Boy”. So I guess crossovers like with Star Ocean can call him Yu Narukami but official persona games can’t call him that???
He's called Yu is other games to make it easy to identify him. Even in Q2 he was just given the name Persona 4 Hero. He's whoever you want him to be. Personally, I call him Virgin in-game cause I think it's funny lol
Technically yeah, none of them have a canon name but that said, out of all of them Yu is probably the closest to having an official name. He's basically Yu Narukami in almost anything else I can think of. Hell I've gotten used to calling him Yu myself. It's kind of interesting, they seemed like they were never able to come to a similar consensus about P3 protag's real name or even Joker's real name but the P4 protagonist is different. I even just looked him up to see if he's gone by other names and the damn wiki just lists him as Yu Narukami rather than P4 protagonist. lol
Raoul felt like cut content like protag's ultimate persona if atlus followed the original pattern of the ult persona's design not delving much from the base persona (i.e. messiah vs orpheus, izanagi no okami vs regular izanagi)
Just platinumed royal for the 2nd time in my life and after 4 playthroughs. My 4th playthrough was the first time i ever used raoul (my 1st and 2nd playthroughs I’ve played on the ps4 in 2020 and the 3rd one was on ps5 but I didn’t do the 3rd semester until my 4th playthrough in ng+) The first time that the velvet room was available to me in maruki palace i got raoul for all the third semester and it’s was good to use him especially against the reaper and maruki but damn didn’t understand why atlus didn’t put him on the disc from the beginning on the ps4 version (gladly the ps5 port have all the dlc free on the disc)
Satanael was the strongest form of Joker's power, formed by the hearts of the masses to defeat an false god. Raoul however, is the true form of a thief who just does what's right.
Whenever I get to the final palace of Royal, I always snag this dude from the compendium because if my teammates are gonna have their ultimate personas, might as well have mine as well.
Would have been cool if, instead of DLC, he was just the result of fusing Arsene and Satanael, and that any other fusion that would otherwise result in him would navigate somewhere else.
Raoul really strikes me as a second tier persona for Joker rather than a third tier. Like i know it was just for dlc purposes but i think it makes a lot of sense to get Raoul somewhere along the lines after Sae's palace maybe? then Satanael is the true third tier persona.
Satanel is more powerful, but it can only be summoned when the hearts of the masses are in full support. Raoul on the other hand literally calls itself the true form, so it's probably Joker accepting his calling as the trickster and not needing the public's help anymore.
I maxed out his stats along with Kaguya Orpheus Thanatos Messiah Izanagi Magatsu izanagi Izanagi-no-okuma (+picaro versions) Alice Ishtar Cybele Satanael Ongyo-ki Satan Yushitsune Fafnir Alillat Hastur Baal (love his skill tbh) All so I got everything I paid for. Getting the rewards in the den makes it so much easier tho.
some people say that because of time stuff they couldn’t fit him in so they made him dlc,but Raoul should’ve been free,however he is so cool I’m completely fine paying like $3 for him,and his unique matches him very well and his entire design and attack animations just Oooooze coolness. I’m not disappointed
