How the hell is this getting so many views lol ....probably cause no one else did a compilation aboutthe anime but dyamn I moved on from the channel and now I see that I gained 900 subs feom this video lmaoooo Thanks guys
A bit justifiable when it's the first awakening, but King Kamoshida should have realized what was going on (and might have, considering his recoil during Ann's)
can we just talk about how badass Arsene's speech is? "Reveal the strength of thy will to seek the truth on thine own, though thou be chained down by HELL ITSELF" sends chills down my spine every time.
i love the subtle touch of Futaba's awakening. No Mask, No outfit {right away} everyone else let their other self out, Futaba goes it the P4 way, there is a difference between "Giving in" and "Acknowledging"
Yusuke’s awakening really sends chill down my spine… in both versions, it’s epic, yes, but what really does is when he scratches his hand into the floor SO HARD, that he even breaks his own nails, that really must be painful
I love the way Arsene, Captain Kidd, Carmen, Goemon & Johanna's voices were processed this time around! They have a more mystical, otherworldly presence now from it. Joker, Ryuji, Ann & Makoto struggled & screamed in pain a lot more intensely here. & I'm all for it!
@@moomer2675 Except what is the Persona compendium rooted in? The SMT demonology. That’s just how it is. Why else do you think Persona designs tend to have exaggerated if not monstrous features, even if they’re more angelic?
I love the way they had the blood from Yusuke's fingers form into his mask! Such a cool effect. Also, Haru's awakening was so much better here than in the game. It felt like it was more about her, rather than being a follow-up to Morgana's moment. Plus seeing Milady absolutely destroy her dirtbag fiance was so satisfying.
Haru’s awakening is amazing. I love her Milady is still giving her the choice of who she’ll betray. The friends who came for her, or her father. And she’s betraying her father to side with the phantom thieves
I do think Ryuji's Awakening was a bit better in the game, although only because of the last line he said before he awakened. "STOP LOOKING DOWN ON ME WITH THAT STUPID SMILE ON YOUR FACE!"
@@MilanTehVillain I do get it, to an extent. Animes have to be cut down and have to fix into a certain time frame. You can have extended versions when they get released on DVD or on streaming services or whatnot, but for the most part, they need to fit into a time frame, so you can't just... dump as much time as you like onto a certain thing. Some things need to be sped up, some things need to stay around the same length so people can pick up the story and foreshadowing... But y'know, the point still stands that Ryuji's Awakening was pretty weak in the anime, especially compared to the game. Ann's was also a bit lacklustre since she didn't steal a sword and kill Kamoshida's cognitive version of her. So yeah. 'The game is better than the anime' is a cliche and something people always say... but that's usually because it's true.
Most of these are pretty weak compared to the game. There's a reason the character's game awakenings were so powerful! They spoke so well to showing where the characters were coming from and where they wanted to go as people. There was so much more emotion to them in the games. If they weren't going to put in the effort to make this anime at least look good, they shouldn't have bothered!
@@ShadowdaHedgie11 they couldve put the budget in some parts tho but they didnt much.....some game animes are fire tho like arcane and valorant when it gets a show
I like Yuskue's the most because that absolute Chad barely suffered through the headache and ripped his mask off with no hesitation or painful screams. What a champion.
Well he already knew Madarame was bad deep down, he just didn't want to see it. Now that he has, and knows what he will/must do, he doesn't need to hesitate anymore.
Okay, Yusuke's awakening is SOME OF THE MOST BALLER SHIT IN THIS ENTIRE ANIME. The way that the blood from his fingertips forms the pattern of his mask before it is summoned onto his face is just... perfection.
I kinda wish they did Makoto’s awakening here the same way they did in the game, where she literally stomps and shatters the tile under her before she even awakens her persona. Made her seem a lot more badass to me
Joker. I might be a casual, but his intro straight up gave me chills because it gave a ferocious power of determination, hate, vengeance, dominance, and being menacing overall, aspects that make something truly frightening to be against.
i love to think that the pure aura of a persona user awakening to their abilities is enough to keep shadows away from them long enough for them to awaken
I always thoughts that game version of Arsene line in Persona Awakening scene, That is "Vow to me, I am Thou, Thou Art I, thou who am willing to perform all sacrilegious act for thine own justice. Call upon my Name and RELEASE THY RAGE!!!! Show the strength of thy will to ascertain all on thine own, THOUGHT THOU BE CHAINED TO HELL ITSELF!!! " Is way better, like it's more poetic, cooler, and fitting for describing Joker state of mind, feeling, and resolution about what he will struggle from now to the future.
Personally, my fav is Ryuji. Its almost the same like in game and when he takes off the mask the scream is the same as in game. It sends a chill down my spine.
@@astoopidperson8556 Arsene's vow just gives me chills, especially at the end. 'Reveal the strength of thy will to seek the truth on thine own, though thou be chained down by hell itself'. Him and Ren know it's a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don't deal, but Ren doesn't care so long as he can make things right.
I think my favourite awakening is Futaba's. It's not like the others, where they awaken their rebellious spirit against their tormentors. It's literally Persona 4's. Futaba accepts her situation, she accepts what her shadow is saying, she snapped out of her slump, and strikes out at her own cognition of her mother, made because of the fake suicide note. Although... imagine if it had been full P4 version. Complete with the rejection of their true self? Necronomicon's shadow form would be very interesting, kind of like Shadow Rise in P4.
Well it's a mix of P4 and P5 imo. She accepts that her Shadow is speaking the truth that she knew deep down, while also rebelling against what the adults said and labeled her as when her mom died.
I agree completely. The others in pushing back against oppression gain the freedom to know their true self's unburdened. Its that full understanding of self that has always been the requirement for a persona and the delusions against reality strong enough to make a palace being antithetical to this precept. 4 was characterized by people denying a part of themselves, a part hard to accept or thought to be dirty or similar. It was in acceptance of their full true self that a persona was born. Futaba fits that second method perfectly as even though it can be argued her problems were in part due to outside influence anyone who experienced her palace and shadow knows the krux of the problem was truly self inflicted. In accepting her buried doubts and putting the lie to her delusions of self hatred and blame her shadow became her persona. No tearing of the mask worn in public in an act of rebellion, just Futaba pure and simple for all to see. For breaking the mold and showing in practicum that the persona games have deeper connections it gets my vote.
Now I want to see them make a P5 Strikers anime just so we can see how they would do Wolf’s awakening! It would be especially badass since in the game he split his mask in half when he ripped it off his face!
I liked Joker and Haru's awakening the best, but Futaba's holds a special place in my heart because I love how her shadow becomes Necronomicon. I should mention the reason I love Futaba's, it is a nice callback to the Persona 4 awakenings.
Anime wise: Haru she's my fave in general also I love she uses an axe Game wise: Makoto Reasons for both: Makoto because she was at her breaking point when she did all the things everyone kept saying she should behave and be complacent and all that bs then it all boiled over and she rejected it to the point that she swore. Haru gamewise felt personal too but when she was glaring at her dad and that guy i didnt feel like she was. It looks to me that she was just looking at them focused but anime she really glared like she hated the people infront of her. overall reasons for them Theirs were really personal. like Makoto for not just rebelling against kamoshida she was rebelling against everything that would keep her from going all out. Haru doing the same rebelling against people who want to make her a puppet.
When it comes to Haru's glare at her father, I think the anime is better suited for it, considering how drawn pictures can show much better emotion then 3D models
The first persona awakening I ever saw was walking in on a friend playing persona 5 when Yusuke had his awakening and I was like “are they all this brutal” because jeez my guy was scratching the ground so hard he ripped his fingertips open.
that *GLARE* from Haru. no words needed. no grandstanding anime speech. just plain, simple, "You're Going To Die." honestly shows dont show instead of tell nearly enough.
Yeah, and Haru's "subservient puppet line" felt a little flat compared to the game too. If it had the same oompf as the game with that animation, it would have been perfect.
yes, to me it sounded very rushed whereas the pacing/wording of the speech in the game was spot-on. in the game, there was also more breathing room in the way he ripped off his mask. his (in-game) awakening is my favorite (aside from the protagonist) because the pacing of everything leads it to be a bit dramatic and over-the-top, but in the absolute BEST way. I'm glad they kept the speech in though. but I will add that in the animation, I find the lead-up to the awakening to be very disappointing compared to the game
Yeah, because she’s not the only Lovers girl who her respective Fool is basically made for. The Arcana is the means by which all is revealed, after all
yusuke was really cool but they somehow managed to fuck up his little speech after he summons goemon. its supposed to be "A breathtaking sight... imitations they may be but together, they make a fine spectacle... though the flowers of evil blossom, be it known... abominations are fated to perish!"
If anime has taught me one thing it's that when you beat down someone and they get up with difficulty while speaking about a difficult past, just give up.
So, I noticed this playing P5R, but it's even more notable in the anime, why the boy's awakenings so much rougher than the girls? Like, Ann gets it the worst with her drool and tears, but like Ren's dripping sweat and all roughed up, Ryuji's the same way, Yusuke shredded his own fingernails. Like, "Damn, this is some emotional trauma they're going through, but, uh, make sure the girls don't look too ugly, yeah?"
I think by the time we get to Makoto, we've already seen 4 others awaken to their power, so it just might be a storytelling thing to not drag Makoto and Haru's awakening out longer. Other theory is that it plays into Makoto's newfound strength that she doesn't seem to suffer as bad in the awakening as the others. Haru, meanwhile, partially awakened already, so much of the burden has, possibly, already been dealt with.
@@GamingBoyRishad Around when the anime just finished, called Persona 5 The Animation OVA Valetine's special. Has a special anime only type scene with Sae
2 of the best ones to me were Joker's cause of that shit eating grin on his face when Arsene is behind him and Yusuke's moreso in the game for that one. His initial lines after awakening Goemon are sick but the anime doesn't let him breathe in between the lines. They're just said too quickly for my taste A breathtaking sight. Imitations they may be but together they make a fine spectacle. Though the flowers of evil blossom, be it known, abominations are fated to perish It's his whole character wrapped up into one paragraph. When he says a breathtaking sight it's like his eyes have finally been opened and he sees the truth. Him talking about imitations is speaking to Madarame parading around his fakes of his mother's paintings and now they're just a joke to him. Then the last line is saying when there's pure evil in the world somebody will rise up to stop it and this time is Yusuke's turn to out a stop to Madarame's treachery
if nothing else this persona series had the most epic awakenings ever so far when 6 eventually comes out I can't wait to see how they try top this games awakening.....I hope they make a strikers anime just so we can see Zenkichi's awakening too
Yusuke’s my favorite. Throwing away the mask with no effort needed and the speech? Love it. The animation’s version of Haru’s? Her face showing her resolution and the onslaught of bullets is always great. Makoto’s was fierce. Futaba went full P4 with her’s. Ann and Ryuji’s was a bit lackluster imo while Joker’s in the game is epic (animated version not so much aside from his outfit slowly changing instead of being immediate).
@@shaddowofthelost1750 Or it was their Shadow, as the Persona is the Shadow refined. Notice how their eyes turn yellow upon the first few Awakenings. We don't know for sure, but it could be their Shadows spoke up and forged a contract to become a Persona.
@@gluttonousgoddess that's not the point, the point is that futaba rejected the truth, faced her shadow, accepted the truth, and thus unlocked her persona. The others didn't.
