Thank God someone requested "Time's Footsteps" it's easily one of my favorite themes in the series. What's crazy about this song is its the final dungeon theme of the game, and unless you just sit there and listen to the whole thing, there's no way you'd hear beyond the first 2 minutes. Incredible track, man, super underrated!

You bet Light the Fire Up in the Night is catchy! And it's literally one of the regular battle themes, too, so it's just a jam throughout the entire game! Hard to get tired of it.

Requestor here for the second video. The Persona Q duology are a crossover of sorts between Persona and Etrian Odyssey. (Sadly, there's very little Yuzo Koshiro in these games.) Anyway, there are two different versions of the song, based on whether you're following the Persona 3 or Persona 4 cast. I requested the Dancing version because it's essentially both in one, so imagine my surprise when the P4 version got requested on its own.

I hope that "Maze of Life" (Persona Q's opening theme) and "Road Less Taken" (Persona Q2's Opening) were requested.

Time's Footsteps was actually going to be a request I made before it came up on the request list. By the time I got to making it it was already done. As for the track itself: It's a final dungeon theme. Persona Q is a fusion of Etrian Odyssey and Persona, taking the P3/P4 cast and it's Persona's and shadows and blending them with the combat system and map-building dungeon exploration that is present in Etrian Odyssey. It's more like an Etrian Odyssey game than it is a Persona game as a lot of the extra things in Persona like social links, cutscenes, character building and the like are removed or distilled into a short cohesive story. Time's Footsteps plays during the last dungeon of the game, a massive clock tower that is easily the longest and most dangerous part of the entire game. As if to help sell this, the dungeon track is the longest piece in the game, and probably the most involved. The labyrinth itself is no slouch either, posing the toughest enemies in the game, some of the largest maps on each floor, paths and traps that will force you to down the floors, and the reaper, a staple in the Persona games, appears for the first time here. He's different in other games where he appears if you're on the same area too long as an anti-grind mechanic as a ruthless boss that will wipe unprepared teams. in PQ, he actively chases you across floors, and if you make it to the next floor, if he was a few spaces from you, he will appear on the next floor almost just as fast. All in all it makes Time's Footsteps probably one of the more memorable dungeon themes in the franchise, at least for me

Footsteps of Time is absolutely a hidden gem in the vast sea of Persona soundtracks! Getting to listen to it after a 50h-ish grind of a 3DS game is almost like a reward.

Also, funny that you mention that Lotus Juice's rapping style reminds you of Action Bronson's/New York style. He has said he moved from Japan to the US and grew up in New York! So he probably did have influence from him!

Hi Jessie! Im super glad to see how much you liked my suggestion, that it stuck out to you as an instrumental compared to the lyrical songs persona is well known for. Im also super glad you spent so much time thinking on it! Though that might be because of how long the song is, sorry, haha. Times footsteps is one of my favourite songs of the persona series. It plays as the main theme of the final dungeon in PQ, where youre essentially climbing a tower of a god of time, Chronos. This is why you can feel that constant pace throughout the whole thing, and I think the weird warbly synth parts are supposed to represent a machine like quality, which makes sense as he is also referred to as the 'Clockwork God' ingame. Some PQ spoilers below, but / / / In Q, Chronos is split into two, because he fell in love with a girl and didnt want to kill her. This resulted in a part of Chronos splitting the part that can feel off. To me, this is why you hear that sad piano part in the theme, to me it represents the doubt and sorrow the the god we're fighting against 'suppresses' and I suspect thats the reason for the dungeon in game being so chaotic too. This is also why I think those warbly synths reflect the robotic, unfeeling element of him (both split versions are being represented in the song) Thanks again for covering my request!

Long story short, the main franchise was Shin Megami Tensei, and from this game there was a lot of spin-offs. One of those was Persona that became so popular that now it's a new franchise
@chroipahtz

Persona Q is a spinoff/crossover between Persona 3 and 4. I don't think the psychedelic branding is supposed to feel like the 70s, but it does reflect the rather bizarre locales in the game. Also, you're right, Light the Fire Up in the Night is the battle theme, and there's both a Persona 3 version and a Persona 4 version, depending on which set of characters you choose at the start of the game. The instrumentations and singers of each version match their respective soundtracks, so it's pretty cool. I believe the 2nd version you heard is a mix of both created for the Persona 3 dancing game. Time's Footsteps (or Footsteps of Time) is the final dungeon theme. I think Persona Q is generally not as popular as the main Persona games, for several reasons, and this song is also slept on within that. I believe it has some leitmotifs, but I'm not certain. We should definitely show you some live Persona performances with Lotus Juice performing.

I've always found it slightly odd that persona 3, 4 and 5 have dedicated crossover games, most of which use time and, arguably, reality bending shenanigans to get the casts to meet up, when their casts already canonically live in the same country and their adventures are only separated by a few years.

"Light the fire up In the night" has 2 original versions, both with lotus juice rapping, but the midnight channel version has the p4 female singer while the other version, has the p3 original female singer (dark hour version), the second song you listened to is a remix of the dark hour version since it was made for the p3 dancing game, so that's why the female singer is a different one. But they also added the part for the midnight channel version
@MACGamer100

Persona Q is a crossover spinoff between Persona 3 and 4. It's got time travel shenanigans. You can pick what side to start with it at the beginning, and that picks what cast and song you get. If you choose P3, you get that cast and the Dark Hour version of the song. If you choose P4, you get their cast and the Midhtnight Channel version. The persona dancing games (Persona 3 Dancing in Moonlight, Persona 4 Dancing All Night, Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight) take already existing songs and use them in the game. They also have remixes of existing songs and make them into new songs.They're all rhythm games. The song you heard from Persona 3 Dancjng was a combination of both versions of Persona Q Light up the Fire up in the Night. Hence the "Kagejikan" + "Mayonaka" in the title. It was kind of a trick to have you listen to both versions haha. The song you were thinking of was Mass Destruction from the original P3. Persona has a ton of spin off (P4 Arena, P4 Arena Ultimax, P5 Strikers, PQ and Q2, P5 Tactica and Dancing) and other media, like anime series(Persona 4, Persona 4 the Golden Animation and Persona 5 the Animation), movies(Persona 3 Movies 1-4), and Mangas. The anime stuff have new songs from all the singers made for the series. Each Mainline game also has a re-release. P3 has P3FES, P3 Portable, and now P3 Reload. A weird fact is that P3 has 3 different singers. One for 3 and FES, one for Portable(if you ever see a character called FEMC or Kotone, she has her own singer), and now one for Reload. Majority of the songs will have the original singer. P4 has P4 Golden P5 has P5 Royal Each have new songs and new story content. It's alot.... Lotus Juice is the GOAT Love the Videos!

Also, since I didn’t see anyone mention it, the Q in Persona Q comes from Sekaiju no Meikyuu, the Japanese name for Etrian Odyssey. It’s kind of a crossover between the two series.

For Light the Fire Up in the Night, the version changes depending on if you choose to play as the P4 or P3 side (game is pretty much identical), the main change is the battle music changes to resemble more the original games. The first part of the song request for the dancing is basically the P3 side version of that song, and it absolutelly slaps

Yeah, so as mentioned... Persona Q is basically a crossover of Persona and Etrian Odyssey as denoted by the Q in the title (The japanese name of Etrian Odyssey is Sekaiju no Meikyuu, often stylized as Sekaiju no MeiQ). 'Light the Fire up in the Night' is indeed the battle theme and, as mentioned, changes based on whether you have the P3 crew (Kagejikan/Dark Hour) or the P4 crew (Mayoinaka/Midnight Channel).

Time’s Footsteps was on my shortlist of tracks to send sometime, an all-time fave for me. Regarding Light the Fire up in the Night, both versions originate from Persona Q. Being a crossover of P3 and P4, which version you hear depends on the route you choose. Yumi Kawamura sings in the former, while Shihoko Hirata is featured in the latter.

Persona Q is a spinoff game that brings both Persona 3 and Persona 4 together. You can choose to start with Persona 3 or Persona 4 cast Light the fire up the night is the main theme for the game, Lotus always sings one half, and the women vocalist are based on the starting protag you choose, and they're both the singers of the games they sang for. (Yumi for P3 version Shihoko for the P4)
@VikTimmy
@VikTimmy 5 дней назад
Fun fact: while lotus juice is a persona regular, the numbered games 3-5 each have a different lead female vocalist for their songs 5 is Lyn Inaizumi, 4 is Shihoko Hirata, and 3 is Yumi Kawamura. For spin offs you end up with either 1 or a mix of these 3 ladies based on which persona games cast is present in a particular spin off, PQ2 being the only game I can think of that features all 3 of them off the top of my head (not counting the 3 dancing ___ Night games, but that’s cheating cause it has live concert performances in it anyways). Also sadly Yumi, as an aged smoker, is simply no longer capable of the same level of performance as she used to be and was replaced for the remake of 3 (Reload) by Azumi Takahashi, who sings new versions of older p3 songs as well as some new songs added for the remake. I second other comments I’ve seen recommending checking out “Road Less Taken” particularly the full version, as it features all 3 of the original ladies singing as well as lotus juice.
