►CHECK OUT LANDSHARK GEAR landsharkfishi...
This is the second day of our trip over to Port Lucaya of Grand Bahama island in the Bahamas. We spent two days chunking for Yellowfin Tuna, and I finally caught my Personal Best Tuna!! It wasn't a true giant Yellowfin as these fish get hundreds of pounds, but a Giant for me and It weighed in at 60lbs. This was the first of many Yellowfin Tuna Catch Clean Cook videos I hope to make and the next trip will be even more epic!

Another tip with fish that size you need to bleed them and if you have the experience gill an gut them on the spot! it makes that quality taste! Faster you can cool them down the better they taste!

Really good stuff and the pace of the filming and explanation is perfect. Not too long and not too short just the way it should be.

I got a beer batter recipe for you take 2 cups of all-purpose flour 1 egg and one can of beer can beer works better for some reason then then add whatever favorite seasoning you want you can use whatever you want I use seasoned salt and a little bit of Cracked Pepper then when you pancake batter is super thick than you finish it out with sparkling water that sparkling water will help to make it crisp and then take your fish fillets drying off real good and dip them in cornstarch first and then dip them into the batter and then put them right into the oil but when you heat your oil heat it till about 3:25 to 3:50 and if it's clean oil fresh oil put a tab tab of butter in it first it'll help your battery on your fish turn gold and brown try it you'll like it

Congratulations on a nice fish you need to come to Louisiana in the winter and take a shot at a 200+. That's some good eats right there. We are stuck at the dock watching this weather system tearing up the gulf.

I will agree it is rare but just look at the record books the top 10 are all over 220 plus and in the winter the giant blue fins are here they rare but last week a boat caught two over 500.

Louisiana I think has the best yellowfins, we went in the first week of February last year and caught a 153lb and 70lb yellowfin on our first try. Not to mention it was very fun

A tip with making sushi rolls. If you don’t have the plastic wrap then you can dip you knife in a small bowl of water and cut... you’ll need to do this after every cut but it’s worth it if you don’t have plastic wrap at your disposal.

Love the video bro. Was wondering if you have ever tried the "collars" on tuna. They are the part behind the gills and include the pectoral fins. The are great broiled or grilled. Figured you might want to give them a try as you are always looking for new stuff. Please keep up the great videos, they keep me going until the day I can get back to the water.

We catch a lot of these off the Outer Banks. Most Captains just troll but when you chunk its a better class of fish. Also, under the gill plate is a sweet piece of meat3 in the cheek. Your sushi vids are awesome. My favorite was the wahoo.

I wonder why we Americans always Gaff the tuna in the body. I've traveled all around, and when I was in Australia and Japan, every tuna in the market was gaffed in the head to prevent meat damage.
@frankdukes69
@frankdukes69 6 лет назад
Shanely Shane I’m only assuming here (could be wrong) but I’m guessing they gaffed the fish as fast as possible to get it on the boat since there were sharks swimming around. I could be wrong and his friend is a bad shot and missed the head totally gaffing the tuna in the body lmao.....🤷🏻‍♂️
@shanelyshane
@shanelyshane 6 лет назад
Yeah the thing is though, every video i watch of tuna fishing in the US, they gaff the bodies. Just seems odd to do that to meat so precious.
