GIANT Dolphin Caught in the Bahamas! Catch Clean Cook- Mahi Mahi (Dorado)

Here is the 2nd video from our trip to Port Lucaya of grand Bahama island in the Bahamas. Our primary focus when fishing offshore in the islands is Yellowfin Tuna, but this time of year provides for some of the best Mahi-Mahi (dorado) fishing . Almost any floating debri holds dolphin and we found two giant fish, along with a good amount of schoolies. We used live pilchards as bait and sight fished the mahi. We also saw a good amount of tripletail and ended the day by trolling for blackfin tuna and chunking up a nice Yellowfin Tuna.

my husband and i are watching from Dominica West Indies where my west indian husband catches Mahi daily! We love this video great job! I must say that we looked at one another when you tossed all that good fish head into the water! That is one of the best parts in ths area of the world! We also would have gave the rest to our animals here on the farm lol its so great to see the world and how we all do things differently im from Minnesota so im a natural born fisher woman! But fishing in the atlantic is an amzing experience cheers!

At that piece of wood where you guys caught the mahies, there will be a fish we call in the Antilles “ domilono”. Colors are black/yellow. Looks like a small grouper. You will only find it in the open ocean, and not next to shore or in the coral reefs. That fish is YUMMIE.!!!!!!

We always used to keep one Dorado on the hook to keep them biting. If they quit, frequently a top water bait with spinners at each end worked fast would turn them on again.

Brooke is an animal, she does not get intimidated when it is a boat full of guys and is just herself! Always pleasant to see her although it is not her channel you miss her when she is not there. I live in Thailand and real pad Thai has so much fish sauce it’s over powering also it has small dried shrimp in it but I don’t really like it but yours looked pretty good. love the videos can’t wait for the next video

Great video of some fantastic fishing! If you bleed the fish and chill them in a brine slush bath your bounty will be so much better. Bring along a designated cooler filled with ice, some rock salt, and just enough sea water to make a slush. With all you spend to get to the fish this is a small additional expense to up the bar. You will definitely notice the difference when Tuna are processed like this. Your recipe for cooking the Mahi looks very delicious. Here in California we most often catch cold water Chinook salmon this time of year. I will give your recipe a try.

I am a new sub with both of you. I’ve never been on a boat in the ocean. This will be as close as I come. So don’t think I’m dumb by asking some questions. Ok, why are y’all wrapped up in bandannas and covered up? I’ve never seen a mahi fish except what I’ve ordered in a restaurant. Could you eat that type of fish as sashimi? I love to watch y’all fish and enjoy the ocean, when you catch the lobster, how is it you can hold your breath that long? Also, I would be terrified about the sharks. I think you have a beautiful family and I see so much love here. All of my family is gone..... I see how close you all are. I am taken aback.

Mahis are great in almost any way! My father and I used to make it in ceviche, in the oven, fried, also their heads and spines are really good for soup! They are wrapped up because of the sun, it's better to be with a bandana and a long sleeve shirt than with a lot a sunblock. I remember one time fishing with my father that I felt sleep with shorts, no shirt in the sun. Big mistake 😂. Since that day I always use long sleeves and a bandana or shirt in my head to prevent sunburn

Dude it's so awesome. I highly recommend before the world goes to hell get down to big pine key and go out. From this to wreck fishing you never know what's on the other end. Awesome. Take a little dramamine before you go. Dont want to ruin your chance and be throwing up all day. And once it starts you can't recover till you step foot back on land. I had to learn the hard way. Lol

I have caught bunch of dolphin in Florida and just got done with going to the keys and catching them and the captain said they dont get big dolphin anymore. Something about long lines catching most of them.

Pure_Walrus mahi mahi are the fastest producing and maturing fish in the ocean. scubadiverlife.com/mahi-mahi/. Normally, I would completely agree with you, but these fish reproduce so fast and grow at such a quick rate, that killing some of the juvenile fish won’t make an impact.
