As someone not into the books yet. The way your describing it, Dorn would be the guy at the edges of the empire building fortifications, doing logistics, and planning for the worst case scenarios. And Perturabo would be the guy building aqueducts, buildings that are works of art inside and out, and doing the thankless job of planning out the infrastructure project that everyone needs, but take for granted. Meaning he's the guy people would respect in times of peace, not endless war.

I now want Perturabo to come back with a beard.

As a loyalist fanboy I miss the days when I just got into the fandom and I could easily just call Pert a twat and love me me Lemon Bush-man.... But in the last year I have been made to really like Perty and have some doubts about Lemon.

It’s funny without Puterabo and the iron warriors the Horus Heresy wouldn’t have succeeded. The other legions were to focused on causing bloodshed or satisfying their pleasures they were able to actually keep their minds and fight normally. Against the fight against angron and his legions He pulled a Tau and the iron warriors only used ranged weapons and artillery . No melee whatsoever. By the time angron got close enough for melee he was too weak to fight Perturabo because he couldn’t spill any blood at all and because he kept on getting bombarded constantly.

Love how even though he betrayed the Imperium. Perturabo still defends Vulkan and his craftsmanship.

This makes me smile.

Nah, Ferus Manus was not to retake the AdMechs. The 'bursts' of knowledge Perturabo was subject to really went the Ancient Greek theme, Big E sending him to Mars as a literal Trojan Horse, passing all scans until he gets inside and lock themselves with him in a Iron Cage. This makes me think that Emps never planed to play the "Omnissiah brings Rain to Mars", that that ploy is made by someone else. Ferus Manus with the weird link to Necrons(necrodermis in particular), Medusa, The Gorgon...somehow a play on words that alludes that he may have been created to be a living prison for the Void Dragon.
