Great content! Everything is explained in few minutes. Contact area, the inferfacial zone between cement paste and aggregates or FIBER, plays an important role in permeability, durability and strenght of concrete and is a function of thickness of the contact area, type of fiber , type of cement, type of pozzolan, w/c ratio and concrete zone. HOWEVER, IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT HUSK OF PERVIOUS CONCRETE IS A PRECIOUS AGRICULTURAL PRODUCT AND A RAW INDUSTRIAL SUBSTANCE OF VARIOUS USE. Differnt studies have suggested that RECYCLING the components of waste materials SAVES ENERGY IN CEMENT PRODUVTION AND PRESERVES NATURAL RESOURCES AND ENVIROMENT. Like how you compare with Portland cement, classical type for PROS and CONS. 👍👌
I did a test run on a 12x12x1.5 inch square and it works great. I did the 7-1 ratio. As soon as the portland cement gets a shine to it you have enough water. You want just enough water to cause cement to coat rock. I used pea pebble in mine.
Good video! But I would mention: MAKE SURE the ground is prepared to receive the water! If you're putting down a sidewalk, and the ground is Packed Clay, all that water is just going to fill up the concrete, and you're right back to flooding, standing water, or whatever you're trying to fix!
I got my mix down with liquid color. I only pulled up two pavers that I didnt like and maybe 3 others are not super well drained. The last 10 tho came out perfect and I mix them with everything that comes from lowes. I used pea pebble and cement and liquid color mix.
I mix rocks and cement. Well I wet the rocks a lil in bucket then drsin water off then add cement. Then mix the two well then add water based on cement content. Then add a lil water from dish sop bottle mixing as I go. As soon as the cement starts to shine and is mixed, its into form.
I just made some edging blocks for my front yard added color and waiting to see how they come out. Slurry idea is nice but my issue is you might have to much concrete or water. Thenvthats not leaving out rocks.
Hi there Pete! Great question! Check out the pervious pavement fact sheets we have listed for more information! Thanks for watching! lid.okstate.edu/pervious-pavement/
Hi there! Thanks for watching +Rajesh Ponnabalam attached is a link to pervious concrete factsheets that will surely answer any questions you may have! lid.okstate.edu/pervious-pavement/
Hello Affaq. The water in the spray bottle is to keep the pervious concrete wet under the plastic so that it has time to cure. If it dries out too fast, the concrete will not cure properly and there is a high likelihood of your pervious concrete being week and raveling easily.
Hi there Ian! Pervious is correct, here is a link that directs you to more information on this subject! Happy Gardening! lid.okstate.edu/pervious-pavement
Nice, however I don't reccomend you encouranging any non-certified individuals or contractors (especially home owners) doing their own pervious job. This ain't your father's concrete.
