I like how in fact PETA is literally saying to you: You were born out of nothing, now you can't kill anything and your only resource will be stuff that is almost impossible to get. There's people that literally makes mob farms in Minecraft, and PETA is a joke for them.

I once jokingly tried playing vegan minecraft on a friend's server. The only reason I did this was because there were no animals around my base to use as food and my friends noticed I only ever ate bread on the server. I came across the same dilemma with whether hostile mobs count as "animals".

i feel like peta would be against keeping parrots as pets, i haven't seen them say anything about it but they do seem generally against exotic pets from what i know

I made a sacrificial drowning altar for animals where I sacrifice one of my cows and consume it's flesh before going into the mines for good luck. Works like a charm.

Even though it's clearly for laughs, this challenge seems fun. But, the Turtle Shellmet is surprisingly vegan, because you get its crafting resources passively from baby turtles growing up. Mojang went out of their way to do that.

if most sheep grew up for shearing wool, meaning they're already in that state and you can't do anything about it, isn't it more humane to just shear the wool off the sheep without hurting it? because technically you're helping it to fight heat?

I feel like mushroom stew isn’t technically vegan because mooshrooms give it when mulled with a bowl

But, PETA said on their website that “We realize that aggressive methods of defense must sometimes be resorted to under dire circumstances, whether the attacker is a flea, a bear, or a knife-wielding mugger.” By this passage, we should be able to defend ourselves from hostile mobs!

I feel like you should be able to use a turtle hemet because you dont need to hurt or kill an animal for it. As baby turtles just drop scutes (used for crafting turtle helmet) naturally. EDIT:I see that people are saying eggs and honey should also be allowed however eggs are well a pre hatched chicken (PETA is too dumb to realise that unfertilized eggs exist) and for honey well you are directly taking it from the bees. as for wool or milk you have to restraint the animal to get them or just kill sheep for the wool

I tried doing a vegetarian run once. I ended up resorting to cannibalism to keep from starving to death.

This inspires me to the anti-Peta or the spite-Peta challenge, where you have to kill every animal you see, immediately, except wolves, cats, papagays and dolphins, also you can only eat animal-based food.

honestly i feel like it makes sense in this challenge to be able to kill the undead. PETA only really complains when you hurt things that look like animals, and undead are definitely more humanoid.

There is a mod called askiphile's bosses that contains a achievement that needs you to keep anything non-vegan out of your inventory for 100 days in game. Kinda like this.

Fun fact: Being vegan still allows you to get arguably the best food in the game. With 8 gold nuggets (almost 1 ingot) you can upgrade your carrots into their final form. Golden carrots! Sure it takes gold, but that's abundant in the nether. It restores 6 hunger points (halves on the bar, so 3) which is only beaten by steak and porkchops which give 8 (4). HOWEVER, it gives the most saturation of any food in the game with a whopping 14.4! If you don't know, saturation is like a second hunger bar on top of the one you can see. Anything that uses hunger will always first burn your saturation, only when it is empty will it touch your hunger bar. And since healing is fastest when your hunger bar is full, saturation means more time healing at max speed. Saturation is often far more important.

the mooshrooms are mushrooms witch are fungus and their mink is soup so its vegan

You forgot to mention: if you find any animal you can tame, then your allowed to kidnap- I mean seize it and take it home, then after about 2-10 minutes of having it at your "shelter" your allowed to kill it

noticed a few things i disagree with. undead are well, dead and not animals (skeletons, zombies and phantoms etc.) and the warden is literally sculk and bones

Honestly, I think I should give a few critiques here: #1: I don't think Piglins should be on the list of things you can kill, as from a physiological standpoint, they are literally just anthropomorphic pigs. I don't think sentience would be a contributing factor to the decision, a pig is still a pig. As such, I think they should be left alone. #2: Unless generated specfically nearby a spider spawner, I think it should be safe to tear down cobwebs that naturally generate in the overworld. After all, by definition, a cobweb is a spider web that is no longer used as a home by any spider at all, so tearing down an unused home should be fine. Other than those two changes, I think the PETA logic is pretty sound.

this is an interesting guide but with the mushrooms you did not specify taking the mushrooms from the ground and not the mooshrooms and milking the with a bowl is still milking them.

i have done vegan hardcore runs, it was my favorite self-challenge i had a pretty good time using a vegan mod, too, where you could harvest items like gunpowder from creeper bushes or have vegan substitutes of ingredients, like using a doll eye flower for a spider eye in recipes; I used it along with applecore, having hunger in peaceful. it was a blast.

Actually, the sounder vegan way to play of "avoid causing suffering if you have the possibility, and don't eat animals" tends to be quite fun. The rules are : - don't kill passive mobs - don't eat animal product (just out of principle, even if I get the argument for eating meat from a cow dead in a skeleton accident) - don't exploit animals (including humans, so no npc hijinks) - Stuff made from animal products are fair game as long as you didn't buy them (since you can't know where it's from, and you don't want to encourage animal exploitation) and you didn't harvest them yourself (even sheep, since these sheep are savage ones, so they don't actually need to be shaved because they weren't so aggressively selected for their wool production - aggressive mobs are still fair game, tho I'd be tempted to add "as long as you didn't actively hunt for them and you only killed them as self-defense" for mort challenge) - Looting a village is a gray area (morally, you shouldn't, because you're stealing; in term of fun, depends on how much you want to struggle to get a full enchanting table) - Fishing is of course out of the table - Skeleton can't feel pain, so anything is fair game with them and with their bones (though your actions with any undead may depend on your stance on necromancy ; may I suggest sending them back to their grave as soon as possible?) - Try to not disrupt the environnement too much - You can kill the dragon (because necessary to go back to the overworld), but you can't resurect her (because it would imply killing her again, and necromancy is bad) - Potions... Well that depends on your stance, though they should still all be brewable with the previous set of rules; execpt maybe lingering potions (I think the rest can be found in chests) With that set of rules, you basically get a harder game, where you can't do most automated farms, can't cheese the game with villagers, and have some more efforts to do before being able to access enchants ; yet, you still have access to nearly all the content of the game

zombies and skeletons are classified as humans as they have shown higher intelligence, such as retaining memory, communicating and retaliation. there are also undead that were armor so yes they would be humans, and since peta is anti human, undead are killable. plus zombies step on sea turtle eggs every time they see one so yeah.

I don't think peta realizes that bugs outnumber us by a lot.

Honestly this would be a good challenge: Making a bed out of string, Only fighting hostile mobs, Not making a farm or killing any mobs which aren't hostile and dont get hostle.

i'd say for a play through like this set up a little cave by some water gather up a bit of wheat seeds to plant next to the water if your lucky to find a village use carrots or potato's instead, maybe melons if you found some in a jungle harvest some kelp by the water if there is any, you can use that as your fuel if no sea grass, use wood as your primary fuel source though fuel would be un-necessary if you go for carrots instead of potato's, until it comes time to get some iron

As you didn't say this in any point of the video, I could argue that witch counts as human. The witch spawns with a ''pet'' cat, and technically makes potions to attack you with. They also live in a hut, which, is a home to them.

This is going to be an interesting challenge, actually. Because you can actually defeat dragon with a glitch, making her not spawn, so you can technically beat the game with all of those restrictions. Eyes of ender you can get from trading, ghast tears from an "accident", like creeper explosion, and even if you restrict mining -- you still can use creepers so explode stuff.

Wow. PETA’s Minecraft guide makes the game really boring if we follow it, same goes to the Animal Crossing guide. They’ve done nothing to save the animals in real life, they’re just pushing their own agenda on other people. I feel really sad that they’re euthanizing most of the cats and dogs in the shelters, including the stolen pets. Btw, that jumping kitten in the cage at the beginning is so adorable. It really wants to be adopted.

I get what their saying but some of them feel contradictive towards creativity because of how it improves mental perspective- get honey in the wild feed exotic animals keep horses and llamas as pets sheer a sheep provide yourself an egg that a random bird pooped out this is my version of 'vegetarian' (a more tamer idea than vegan) gameplay with a few tricks

The turtle helm is a bit of a rough spot in my opinion because to get scute to craft the helm you need to protect a baby turtle until it fully grows, then it's dropped off its body, meaning it's more like wearing garbage left on the ground

I might actually try to beat the game in a vegan playthrough (of course I'd have to ignore the part about not killing the dragon/blazes if I wanted to actually beat the game, but it would still be very challenging)

Don’t worry we can expand this list a tad portion. Creepers are sentient swamp bog bombs, so they’re fair game to hunt; the zombies seem to be a virus or bacterial like disease such as rabies and are for the most part entirely reanimated humans, so they might also be fair game; ender men are predicted to be a close decent to humans, so they have a unique status of being between human and animal; guardians are living machines like iron golems; and vex are the soles of villagers experimented on, and human soles and animal soles are very different.

i would argue on skeletons, zombies and phantoms. Skeletons and zombies are basically dead humans, so they should fall into the human category. Phantoms, as far as i know, aren't real, but hallucinations. And hallucinations aren't animals.

One thing PETA wouldn't be okay with is killing pigmen/piglins or zoglins since they are basically pigs and hogs respectively.

This video reminds me of Mumbo's philosophy in season 8 of hermitcraft. The only thing that mattered to him was that his kill count remained at zero: how ethical he was didn't matter at all to him (you didn't hear it from me but he used end crystals to kill without his kill count stat going up).

You can get to the end though. The achievement for getting a blaze rod puts blazes as used to be humans, and the eye of ender is obtained from enderMEN, or in other words, used to be humans, meaning eye of ender are fair game.

Funny enough, I'm pretty sure PETA did have a Minecraft server back in the day. I have no idea what was or wasn't allowed on it, but I'm pretty sure it was a good 5 or 6 years old, so it's outdated anyway. Though I am going to throw a gripe this video's way. Maps in Minecraft are crafted with 8 paper, 4 iron, and 1 Redstone. Ink is not involved in the equation to any capacity, so worrying about it coming from a squid is ridiculous.

I think that you should be able to kill phantoms, as they are not real mobs, they are hallucinations from sleep deprivation due to them only attacking the sleeples and insane, like the shadow creatures in Don't Starve (Only shadows though, since nightmare creatures are part of Charlie's army and are therefore, alive)

Peta said that roadkill is ethical, so you could technically eat the blown up animals (as long as you didn't blow them up yourself)
