@@MarkSmithhhh he’s third and a distant third He’s so much worse than bonds and Clemens as a player I can hardly put it into words Plus if we’re going on morality Pete rose was a drug dealer who gambled on games and corked his bat to break the hit record.
@@bondsgoat25dick ride for Bonds much? Show me proof that Pete used corked bats. Just cuz some said it doesn't make it true. If it did, your boy Barry definitely would never make it in cuz someone said he took gear.
What I don't get is, why put steroid cheaters like Pudge Rodriguez, Jeff Bagwell and David Ortiz in the Hall of Lame, when their numbers pale in comparison to Bonds, Clemens and A-Rod? It's a joke. That's why I don't even pay attention to the Baseball Hall of Fame election anymore.
@@zachramey7187and You know this how exactly?, because you have actual published evidence that Pete Rose bet against his own team!, No, No You don't!!!, You're just a hater that's all!!!, The All Time Hit King"4256" belongs in the Hall, Period!!!
@@zachramey7187 Never proven that he bet against his own team. Given the competitor he was, I don't believe he would ever enter his mind. Bet on his team to win? Sure.
I went to a game in Cincinnati this year, there was an MGM logo on the damn field. Cincinnati is one of 13 stadiums that have a place inside the stadium where you can place bets. MLB needs to quit being hypocritical, either let Pete in the Hall, or completely ban gambling and step away from the money they get from it. MLB has banned a guy for life for doing what they now encourage others to do. Climb down from the moral high horse, because you look silly sitting up there promoting gambling. The baseball hall of Fame is a joke, I don't even pay attention to it anymore. Each teams own Hall of Fame means more to me then Cooperstown.
Put them all in..the hall of fame has a backlog of players that need to get in..writers and old timer committees..do the right thing and get going...do i forgive any player (s)??? YESSSSSSS...
Barry Bonds shouldnt have been armored up. And if he took alot of high heat he wouldnt have been crowding the plate. And he was a juicer. Dont respect that.
Rose is deserving based on his playing career. Bonds and Clemens both might have been worthy before deciding to abuse performance enhancement drugs. As such both should be ineligible.
No matter what all three of those guys deserve to be in the Hall of Fame people make mistakes you guys have move forgiveness from murderous do you have for these man Pedro he's one of the best hitters in the game ever seen lot of people Michael Jordan had gambling problem who had a thing going to the red-light districts with women these all three of these gentlemen deserve to be in Hall of Fame plain and simple😂❤😅
Yes all three. Bonds beautiful swing. Great hand eye. Eagle eyes with cat-like reflexes. Clemens. You can't take a supplement for pinpoint control and game knowledge. Overwhelming stud. Rose. Has paid for his transgressions. Competed like no other. A winner in Cincinnati and Philadelphia. The National League never lost an AllStar game that he played in. His desire to win was infectious.
None of them deserve to be in the hall. Bottom line, there have to be consequences to their actions. Rose knew the rule, broker it and lied about it for years. Without the steroids, Clemens would have been washed up before he ever won a world series. Bonds ruined what likely would have been a HOF career all for his ego. So what that the PEDs weren't against the rules. That's a technicality. These guys nearly brought the sport to it's knees when it was revealed what they did. It doesn't matter that they brought the game back in 98. The home run chase just accelerated baseball's return to popularity by a few years. The PED scandal nearly brought baseball past the point of no return when the truth came out. So no, none of them nor any other steroid users or other cheats should get in ever. Actions have consequences and more people need to learn that lesson.
Willie Mays was the best baseball player of my fathers generation and Barry Bonds is the best player of my generation. The best without performance enhancing drugs and the best on them. Hand eye coordination can’t be taught like that.
But injury and day-to-day grind recovery is instrumental. Roiding up has its consequences. Hope it was worth it. Hope the enlarged forehead is worth it.
@@noneofyourdamnbusiness3706 Go look at Barry today he is much smaller then he was in 2007 (his last season and heaviest) he bikes like 50 miles a day. And the head looks like a size 7 1/2 now
@@noneofyourdamnbusiness3706 but you just said I hope having a big head was fun.. meaning he fucked up his head with the roids but it’s normal now so the head thing isn’t an issue..
i'm surprised Costas starts talking about Bonds' charitable contributions and "beautiful smile". WTF does that have to do with anything? then he tries explaining his animosity towards the media, but there are numerous accounts of Bonds being a punk on his college team. so that was always there. and should have zero bearing on his HOF status anyways. what are you doing, Bob??
Why are you upset by this? He's explaining why he thinks Bonds took steroids, and it has much more to do with his relationship with the media than his relationship with his ASU teammates. From what I'm hearing, Costas is casting Bonds as a tragic figure - somebody who could have been a hero, but who had a tragic flaw that caused his downfall. His ASU teammates aren't Hall of Fame voters. The baseball writers are, so his relationship with them is much more relevant to this question. And I don't hear Costas trying to excuse anything. He says it's a sad story and the sadness is that Bonds's poor relationship with the media (again, his own fault) probably drove him to feel like he had something to prove after the McGwire/Sosa home run chase in 1998 and so he turned to PEDs. Costas didn't say all that here, but he's talked about Bonds a ton and so he has gotten into all this before. He's not excusing Bonds in any way. He's just saying it's sad because the greatness was there and that it was partly overshadowed by Bonds's animosity towards the writers who covered the game.
@@camicawber what makes you think i'm upset? and you missed the mark here; Costas was not explaining why Bonds took steroids. he was explaining that even if Bonds was surly with the media, he would be in the Hall anyways had he not taken steroids. and he mentions his smile, baseball acumen, and charitable works to say that he's not a monster that some people think he is. the point i was making was that his personality and relationship with the media should have nothing to do with it, so Costas trying to paint Bonds as a nice but misunderstood guy should not even factor into the voting or the discussion.
@@michaelweston2285 "what makes you think i'm upset?" Your use of WTF and "what are you doing Bob??" are both indicators of some level of upset. Maybe that's not what you mean, but that did come across - at least to me. "so Costas trying to paint Bonds as a nice but misunderstood guy should not even factor into the voting or the discussion." I don't think that Costas is trying to say that those things should matter in the voting. I really think he was going over the unfortunate history that led Bonds to where he is. I really don't hear him saying anything like, "Bonds is misunderstood." He talks about the engaging person that Bonds CAN be, but acknowledges that he wasn't that way.
@@michaelweston2285 Fair enough. But "WTF" and "what are you doing??" are often indicators of anger/upset - so I hope you can see where I was coming from. As for Costas, I think he's probably talked about this a lot over the years and so we're probably not getting his full thoughts on the matter. From what I've heard Costas saying in other forums, I think he views Bonds's surliness as a tragic flaw that caused his downfall - but that flaw isn't anybody's fault but Barry's. It's not just "if he were nice to the media, he'd be in the Hall." It's more nuanced than that.
Pete rose deserves it the most. He bet on a few games? My understanding is he only bet on his team to win and never bet on his team to lose. So to me that’s not that bad. It’s kind of stupid actually, fighters can bet on themself in MMA. Pete rose deserves to be in the hall and he’s ones of the 10 best baseball players to ever walk this earth.
I get what you're saying but still cheated the game. it's like saying "ohh that student was a straight A student before he cheated so we will let him off and allow him to graduate with honors."
@@delvorin1705 But so many shitty players and pitchers were taking PEDs or HGH and since they sucked no one cares about them. So with your analogy then the whole class cheated but since they are all D students I don’t care I just care that the A student cheated..
I think the Hall of Fame has lost its credibility. It just doesn't matter anymore. If you want to know what Barry bonds or Pete did in their careers just look at the top of the record books. Whether or not they have a plaque in that museum is irrelevant.
So no one is in the Hall of Fame that took Performance enhancing drugs??? That is the joke. If you're Black and took Performance enhancing drugs we will crucify you. Lol..... I just think trying to moralize baseball and validate levels of cheating is funny. Everyone cheats in baseball. But it is ok to be a racist and abuse women physically??? Do we still need a Hall of Fame?? Should there be a separate wing for the players that played in a segregated era?? If we want to be true moralists. Steroids vs Racism??? Which has had a more damaging effect on our society???
Voting them in is a form of rehabilitation. Maybe they will eventually get in. I do not think they deserve it in their lifetimes, that is for sure. Ron Santo, an untreated diabetic while playing deserved to get in when HE was alive and he really wanted it. Nope. No such luck. These guys should feel that kind of hurt no matter what.
Pete Rose deserves in right now! The man gave his heart and soul on the field and is a top twenty five player all time. He placed some bets on his team betting they would win. This righteous indignation needs to stop, especially with some of the guys that are in the hall and no one says a word.
if only Bonds and Clemons had not WILLFULLY cheated the game they'd be Hall of Famers. But they chose to cheat, so they should never get in. Rose's betting... that's another whole garden of issues. Did it affect his decisions? Without the Black Sox scandal, he'd probably have gotten in. But they threw the book at him and deservedly so.
Pete rose should be in the hall of fame. How many people get back into the game using steroids, or Daryl strawberrys excessive coke use I guess that's ok. Oj Simpson is in the hall in the NFL and he killed 2 people
@@williamjames648 first oj Simpson got into the hall like 7 years before the murder trial ever happened and second he was a much better football player then Pete rose was a baseball player If Pete rose was Barry bonds or Willie Mays or babe Ruth, he would have been reinstated by now He’s not even close to a immortal, making his crime to much for his very good but not great career to compensate for.
If Rose is never going to be in The Hall, then they should close the Damm place down!!!,Because I Guarantee that Place is Full of People that have done things far worse than Pete Rose ever did!!!,Baseball is so Full of Hipocrits and Fans that are Hipocrits as Well!!!!
Simple. Clemons was sn asshole and Bonds was the biggest asshole. So if it has to be one guy to vote out of those 3 . It's Pete Rose. Plus Rose didn't get caught betting during playing days
