A true Australian with Charm ,Elegance & Talent to Burn ,and gone Way to Soon at 48 ! Same age as my Dad & as a young teenager meant just the Same as this Great Australian performer ! We even Named my Son Peter ,as we were So Impressed with all his Performances ! God bless U Peter ,& Of Course ,God bless U Dad, I love U both ! I remember hearing the news of his death. I was boarding a coach and it came over the midday news. I was just 18 and I jumped off the coach to tell Mum one of her favourite entertainers had died.

I went to his last concert in Brisbane in the 80's or maybe early 90's? with my mother, and it's a lovely memory with Mum. We moved later to better seats because there were a lot empty , and as a 7 yo I remember thinking why isnt it full. Of course, I didnt mind! Now being nostalgic, Peter Allen was not appreciated and followed for the talent he was because he was gay. Times have changed , but i feel sad for him, he was not treated with respect that he deserved. An Australian icon that lives through his music.
