Honestly, it's Paul Stanley who started all of the hate towards Peter and Ace. He only needs to look in the mirror to see who the weak link was in that band. Ever notice how their entire setlist is made up of all the old songs?
@DCdanger That is too difficult for me and as much as I like Black Diamond and Beth they are not my favourites. I prefer the slightly more obscure Getaway, Strange Ways, Mainline, Hooligan, Baby Driver, Hooked on rock and roll and Nothin’ to lose chorus
Wow! Pete can swing! He was my childhood hero and influenced me to start playing drums at age 12 when the Kiss Destroyer album was released. I recall reading that he was a student of Gene Krupa, but I never really heard that influence until now.
@@garrycollins1475 - no you are wrong he was swinging just not continuously from time to time his snare shots were right on the beat unfortunately. Hs fills had swing he was just incapable of completing the lines but he each time he started out correctly and then faked the hard parts because he's not that technical but overall he pulled off a swing feel no question.
Peter is the reason I became a drummer!!! He's play's better than ever! I love to listen to him play! He still can rock it!!! Gene Krupa was Peter's inspiration. I love to hear him play Jazz!
You could tell Peter was just enjoying himself playing. Reminds me of the music in the old cartoons when I was a kid. Looks he sat in for someone's special occasion. Way to go 🐱man!

Thank You Peter. You do the swing justice. My favorite as well. I met Gene Krupa in 1966. He didn't like me much as I remember, due to the fact that I was a little kid. Ha!
No way peter could do live shows. He sounds decent here, but this is probably all he played. Peter's biggest weakness has always been strength and endurance, and he's nearly 80 now, so that probably has certainly only gotten worse. I bet his hands were already hurting after this little set.
He was never the most accomplished or technical, nor did he ever need to be. He made me want to start playing drums when I was 7 in 1977. And while Paul Stanley -especially - can vent and bully Peter with cheap-shot one-liners from his KISS pulpit, the reality is that Peter seems to be the only one who got out with his dignity intact, secure with you he is and found greater callings than simply gratifying himself endlessly at the expense of others. It's wonderful to see him a little South of 80 looking well, have his hair and simply drumming for the joy of it. Not because he has to or feels he has to live up to himself 50 years ago, but because he feels like it.

@tlaneb1 Lol! Which site did you copy this from? You're obviously not a serious drummer. As great as Gene was, the height of his influence was almost 100 years ago. Do you even know who some of the best jazz drummers on the planet are in 2023? I love Peter Criss, but to give the impression that he is a "Jazz influenced" drummer to prop his stature up as a great musician is mis-information.
Paul Stanley once said Peter's 1978 solo album was a complete question mark. PC just stayed true to his roots all these years. Meanwhile, now PS is out there doing Motown records.. and not too bad I admit.. but he's such a hypocrite to attack Peter for keeping in touch with his musical influences.
Peter Criss was my hero for a long time, and I learned a lot from that guy when I was a kid learning drums. As far as the count and what your foot did and the hands and so on. Drove my mom crazy. Yep.
Totally Killin it!!! Pete still plays fkg amazing. This might be the best I've seen him play actually. Brilliant. The man is the reason I play drums. He taught me how to play pretty much.

This really is the music that he loves. It shows. The "cat" can still bring it. Nice to see him playing. A class act. Just bowing out and keeping away from the Kiss drama. Long live the real "Cat man".
