I played each track from this album and I enjoyed each song, and the final track is a beautiful ballad, and my over all thought that keeps hitting me, Peter basically did what no other Kiss member did, he did his own thing, not duplicating the band's signature sound, and he stepped out of the box and do what real artists do, create music....I give Peter two thumbs up for his entire album!
Peter was in the middle of his divorce from Lydia at this time, and almost all the songs on his solo album reflect the pain he was going thru, and the personal demons he was fighting. Very powerful stuff.
@@robertisham5279 wyhd they sack him then, because he constantly tried to sabotage kiss and he changed tempo playing drums mid songs etc while in a concert!! Gene Paul and Ace had had enough Peter was given multiple chances.
Well, Sean Delaney wrote "I Can't Stop The Rain", Paul Stanley wrote "Hard Luck Woman" (and had to do hundreds of vocal takes with Peter to show him how to sing it), and with "Beth," Peter wrote a few lyrics (initially calling it "Beck," which Gene suggested changing to Beth), Stan Penridge finished the lyrics, then wrote the music, and Bob Ezrin crafted all the orchestrations, so, yeh - PETER is the true artist here....
@Donal Finn It was strange that they threw that one away to Wendy O Williams. They should have included it on 'Psycho Circus' and released it as the main single in my opinion. KISS don't get enough credit for their song writing.
My personal favorite out of all four solo - albums! Peter really wears his heart on his sleeve! His 1978 solo album is so delicate & so genuine! Love his soul/rock/disco vibe on this one! "I'm Gonna Love You" is a Great opener & "I Can't Stop The Rain" is a very classy swan song! When these 4 rad album covers are put together in unison they are "The Magnificent Four"!
My favorite Peter Criss song ever!! I know Sean Delaney wrote this but Peter put his heart and soul into these vocals.....he truly had a gift for adding "feeling" to a song. It was a shame Peter couldn't find a better manager after he left Kiss to steer him in the right direction of what songs to record....too bad he couldn't have written songs with Sean Delaney again.....
Peter Criss 1978 solo album is so underrated and all the hate is undeserved. I admit i used to hate it wen i first heard it cause i expected a hard rock album cause it was under the Kiss name and Kiss rocks hard. i was very closed minded then and opened up my mind to more music styles and this album is the one that got me started.
this song is so beautiful it makes me cry and it touchs my heart so deeply.. Thank you Peter Criss for making this song.. You know how to touch the heart love you and thank you for putting this song on youtube..
@@jeffcarr1754 -- I'm lauding Sean Delaney, and you take it for granted I'm deconstructing Peter. Then you make an anti-semitic comment about two Jewish guys who run the KISS Organization. Show me on the doll where your uncle touched you as a child.
Best song that came from any of the 4 solo albums. Every note is epic and timeless.......it was the end of Kiss.......the violins say it all. Thanks Sean Delaney and thank you Peter!!!!
Charlie Rich comes to mind..this is a country song at heart..like I'll wake you up when I get home or behind closed doors..only with a more rock n roll..northern sound.
This song got me through my girlfriend's parents forbidding her to see me when I was 13. I'm 40 now and I still feel the pain in the song. It is a brilliant song for those who have the understanding to "feel" it.
I never did hear most of the songs from that album. Today is the first time I ever recall listening to it, and it hits me hard 😭. What I don't get, is that Gene and Paul knocked Peter a lot, insulted his talent and made it seem like he had little. They made him seem like he couldn't keep a beat on the drums or hold a note if he carried it in his hands. Today is also the first time I ever heard him play big band music, which was on another video. He played the Gene Krupa part on "Sing Sing Sing".. Never heard him play anything other than rock, until today. He is very talented and underrated. He was also my first drum hero when I was a kid. My first favorite drummer when I was around 9 years old. Now I'm 57, and now I appreciate him for his talent more than ever. God Bless, Peter.
I never liked Peter's voice, honestly, but I bought his solo album many, many years ago and again on CD in remastered form because it contains a bunch of really nice songs and this one - by Sean Delaney, I seem to remember - is most probably the best of the lot.
ever since i first heard peter's solo album i fell in love with it, this album is so awesome. to me this album has a lot of great stuff in it, to me this album has a lot to say. i still have peter criss's solo album when it was done on casablanca rechord label. and to this day i am still a big peter criss fan. rock on cat man
Not only a great song, the best on the album, but a great kiss song and a great song in general! I absolutely love this song. I wish there was sheet music for the piano.
With Ace's one the best Kiss solo album! So emotional, a lot of great stuffs, Peter's raspy voice, fantastic rhythm, emotions, inspired lyrics, a colorful mix of rock,pop,RnB...so great so far
I’m 55 today and I can remember listening to this and loving it 46 years ago. It still hits me. Peter made a classic hidden gem that will last for centuries.
Why would Peter Criss delete his music.. All his song are so good.. Peter Criss if you ever read this PLEASE leave your music on here.. Your songs are beautiful and you tell it like it is in your music and not only that you touch the heart and that is what matters the most is the heart.. Do it for your fans that LOVE you.. Thank you so much for making this song you just dont know what it means to us and how much we love your music.. Please READ this PETER CRISS Love you....
OMG, I have been so intensly focused on Kiss music, couple days, and remembered Peter´s songs and this ONE, A Real Gem....what ever people think of him and what ever his ex band mates think of him, Peter Criss was//is the most touchable artist - 1:1000000, one in a million man....I can´t stop the rain and Beth....My heart breaks, my soul becomes clean, I feel alive. Thank You Peter. You are still with us 2021.
I remember my older brother owning all four of the solo albums in the L.P., they had the original interlocking posters. Am I the only one that remembers that?
hermoso cancion del gato. todavia tengo el cassette donde lo escuche por primera vez alla por 1992 con solo 12 años.ja. que lindos recuerdos. saludos de argentina.
Because it has the word goddamn in it. Separation of church and state my ass. In the USA they couldn't play it on the radio because the zealots would have lost their collective brain cell
Peter has soul. Since Kindergarten '76 I have loved him and his soulful voice. This and Nothin' to lose....Takin them to my grave. Thanks you Peter Criscoula. Probably bother the spelling. But the only love I've ever had slipped right through my fingers. it suck more than you know. and she was a witch.
I'm sitting in the back of my car rn thinking about my ex, we just broke up. I thought we were going to make it I rly did, bless you peter, this song is pure gold
Did you even listen to the other solo albums? It's not even the best on Pete's solo but certainly isn't anywhere near as good as anything on Ace's or half of what's on Paul's.
All 4 albuns are very good for me. I enjoy listen to every track. As a hole, Ace´s is the best of all, (for me of course) but i don´t know, most poeple dismiss Peter álbum and i think is as good as any other, and this song has something, sadness, memories... and yes, in my opinión, is the best... Neddless to say Paul´s is very godd too...
The most SEVERELY underrated of the 4 solo albums (6 if you count the Vinnie Vincent and Eric Carr Bootleg solo albums styled after these, Ive seen pictures of them in passing)
Peter played himself out bro! His drumming sunk to Pedestrian level! He was a firtunate fella to have been in KISS and KISS were fortunate to have him when they did...too bad he didn't rise to it and step up...and Ace just didn't want to be in the band anylonger! ... i say that i'm happy KISS is still alive and well!
Depending of the Mood and Weather, for excample it' s dark outside and Rain is pouring down, i love to sit at the window, watch the Raindrops how they found their way down the glas and listen to that song.❤❤❤❤🥰
