Reading Frampton's autobiography, a good read. He is a fan of rock, and was there when it all was happening in England. He also is a musician, and writes as a musician--pick- ups, guitars, amps, mics... how songs were written and recorded... His life was not all glam n fame. He had some really tough times, bad advice, people stealing fortunes from him. But, he did what a musician does... he goes out and plays, and plays... he is a player, who deserves respect... I remember buying "Comes Alive" around 16/17 My father picked me up at the store, as i was wslking out with the album, took a look at the cover, and said "dont show your mother!"

75 in May. Brain not as razor sharp as it once was. I recently read that Clapton did a guitar solo on one of George's Beatle recordings, I think it was Weeping Guitar. Eric and Peter also did this at a Crossroads concert, incredible! On youTube. 🎶💙🎶

Top courtesy during their 600 year old idea of the Italian technique of "BOTTA RISPOSTA" (point- counterpoint) while one leads other fills and compliments, leading up to climax finale of joint solos.. Other Joe's other favs to do it rarely with buddies: Jimmy Vivino, Tommy Emmanuel and Eric Gales.

8/30/2022 And this is the reason why the KTBA cruises exist. Frampton was just having a ball. Joe kind of hung back and let Peter let it out I play like crap. but i wished I could have been where Peter was. This is a example of what it will be like, one day, when all of the blues pickers will gather at the great blues jam in the sky, and I can hardly wait.. Hot Damn was that good. ;-)

Bless the memory of George Harrison. This and "Something" are two of the most beautiful and spiritual songs ever written. I saw Peter Frampton live when he was in Humble Pie (1971) and he was already a brilliant guitarist.

This is amazing! Saw Frampton Comes Alive in 1979 when I was just 13 years old and blew me away! Have seen Joe 4 times in the last 20 years and his genius guitar playing just gets better like an old fine wine! But I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn 5 times in the 80's while I was living in Texas and i can just imagine him really making his guitar legitimately bawl it's eyes out playing this song!!

Wow great song played by two legendary guitarists , I really admire how Joe gives so much respect and space to Peter Frampton who is also an amazing guitarist by not playing to much or trying to really outdo Frampton with his all the way up and down the neck arpeggios and runs , just pure respect matched Frampton without making Frampton feel overwhelmed way to go Joe , as a guitar player we really need more of this type of musical respect awesome song by two incredible musicians

Yes, anyone can look at the web and see that Peter is 72 years old. Not sure how or why his age is germane to any critique. Had the first 3 Humble Pie albums in the early 70's. Peter was a wunderkind just like Joe was. Don't get me started on Steve Marriott's vocals.

@@tapstring2 OK. For you, I will say he sings GREAT for someone that is 72! And if he wants to sing, good for him. I guess I'd blame those who keep buying tickets. And how good he once was is immaterial to now. I'm 72 and also sang professionally. But nowhere near PF's level. I can still sing. It seems, a lot better than Peter! But no way am I singing in public, or recording. I can't/ never could play guitar as well as Peter, or be as entertaining, yesterday or today. Is it money or adoration that keeps these guys singing? I could use money like that - but would never embarrass myself like that! It says online that he is worth $20M. So, it's not money that drives him. Comparatively, I made pennies to his dollars in my 5 years on the road. So it would be fair to ask - why was our band beating itself up on the road in all that time? I was 30-35, and should have been focusing on making money - not playing rock star! But damn - it was fun! Wish I remembered it all better... (and I'm done replying to this thread)

I really loved this performance by two of the greatest guitarist, I just wish that I was on that cruise as well! I did see Joe on his birthday in Melbourne Florida at the King Center another great performance! Joe is from my neck of the woods near Cazenovia NY. The work and practise that he put in since childhood is defiantly now paying off and he deserves it all!

whilst In college studying my English oral I overheard a fellow student say that Peter Frampton,this one was his uncle but unknown to him I came from the same part of town as Peter and passed his home on foot regularly and one day as going by with my dad a man was in his garden weeding or something like that,when my dad said at the entrance "alright Pete didn't know you lived here?" to the reply " helo John" so him and my dad knew one another, so I told my dad of this Karl Frampton in college and the clut (idiot)he was, and on our way back Mr Frampton saw us first, came to the gate and said "are you on a nice walk"? so I said back it makes a change to get my dad out without going to a buckles
