Like and old wine. Like a real great old wine. His tone, his phrasing, his singing, has never sounded richer, fuller, wiser as now. Thanks for the journey, Mr. Frampton. Whenever it may end. And for the music...
Used to go see freddie king and peter at winterland still love the tunes and still miss them days of going to a concert for a reasonable price and coming home with a great memory
Peter has been entertaining me since I was a freshman in high school listening to Humble Pie Rockin the Fillmore ....That was around 1972- some 50 years ago....OMG - And he has gotten a lot better ....This is a great blues performance Love it. Peter - Thanks for the memory's LOL :-)
Wowser.....look at that guitar rig he’s using 😮 I imagine the boat was sitting a little lower in the water once Peters crew had embarked. What a sound though! 👏🏻🤟🏻
I didn’t know until recently that Don Nix wrote this. He wrote “Going Down” too. These songs were first recorded by a Memphis band called Moloch. That’s real good Pete. But not as good as Phillip Dale Durham (vocals, drums) and Lee Baker, lead guitar. Y’all check out the 1969 Moloch album on RU-vid. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The Moloch version is pretty good but IMHO Frampton's version holds its own in comparison. In my opinion, though, the definitive version was Freddie King's from the album Getting Ready (which, by the way, features both of the Don Nix songs you mentioned).
