Still considered by many (including myself) as the best live recording ever produced! From a slightly known solo artist from a fairly well known group, no real solo hits before, and live, Yikes! A+M didn't expect 11 million in sales worldwide (8 million US) and sitting on Billboard at #1 for 10 weeks ( It was on for 22 weeks growing). Along with Rolling Stone magazine making it the number one album of 1976. This was an album that was made for FM, who played entire albums at the time. I still remember sitting in my room, staying up late for my favorite FM shows, besides CBS's "Mystery Theater", and hearing "Frampton Comes Alive" for the first time. Had the black light posters and vanilla incense going. As you can tell, I am still a big fan, and yes I'm a proud boomer!

Was thrilled to see Peter Frampton at the Met in Philly last July (2019). Sadly, he's winding down his career as he is dealing with a neurological condition that inhibits his ability to play. His performance was exceptional. What a talent! He played and sang his ass off, and was incredibly humble and funny as well. A true icon and underrated guitarist!

Update: July 2023 - Peter is dealing with his condition better than expected, can still play and sing very well. Just saw his Never Say Never tour in Atlantic City (sellout crowd) and he and his fantastic band absolutely rocked it. He has to play sitting down now, but when he tears into a solo, he sort of lays back in the chair and just lets it rip. Do You Feel had the crowd on it's feet, like a time machine. I wept a little.

Seventeen when it came out... windows rolled up in the Indian Wagon with 8 stoner friends... couldn't be happier... thanks Peter Frampton for the best feel good times!

Am I going nuts? Didn't they do this before? Weren't they talking about the talk box? Maybe my brain is flatlining

I can at least say in my life I had the priviledge of seeing Frampton in Minneapolis in 2001.

He was part of the first ever supergroup "Humble Pie" with Steve Marriott.

That's when I first heard him. He went on to form Frampton's Camel, I think only one or two albums were made. Finally got to see him live when he toured with David Bowie

I would actually say that Cream was the first super group followed by CSN.

Peter is one of the most melodic guitar players alive. Incredibly talented.

Summer of '76. I was 13 and fell asleep to this album blaring away for a year or more.

I also heard this record as a young kid. Used to play my older sister's album on our family's record player in the mid 70's. This was a favorite. Recently saw him in Sept. 2019 in South Florida and he was on top of his game.

Peter was an early user of "talkbox" but he wasn't the 1st, Joe Walsh may have been the 1st popular guitarist to use it.

When I was a teen, Peter Frampton was playing at our high school football stadium in Parma, Ohio. Brownsville Station was opening. Crazy!

Frampton Comes Alive is the greatest live rock album ever produced, he uses a voice box that connects to his guitar and a tube that he puts in his mouth he was first to use it. All this music we listen to is the soundtrack of our lives.
