Arguably the finest blues guitarist of his generation. Sadly he was a shadow of his former self here but you can never forget the magic of his early work & superb songwriting.

many of you criticize his playing in his later years, his shortcomings, his voice.. Peter will continue to be one of the biggest influences and main inspirational figures of the Blues, some good guitarists didn't even make it to 30, Peter lived his way However, he left a legendary legacy in all his compositions, his work and his way of playing the guitar, like it or not, he was Peter Green until the last of his days, and you who criticize so much, are Pablo perez.

I am sorry he was far from free I knew him for a brief period . He was not free. He had , many problems that he just about over came. He had a bad drugs trip in Germany . And never quite recovered from it . He had much support from friends . He was a good guy and totally dedicated to his music.

Under this conditions no. It was a miracle for me to see Greenie back on a stage. He needed the band as a kind of safety net because his playing depended on his shape and mood. Listen to his voice very fragile. I like more to watch the end 60's Fleetwood Mac concerts and records when he was one of the greatest players and singers.

Sorry if any of you love this, I think its not too great, Peter can't sing and his playing is lost over Nigel Watson's over the top blues rock leaving all subtlety gone. I saw him with the Splinter Band wth Neil and Cozy and Nigel over did it there too. No bigger Peter Green fan than me but this is only okay.

Idk why they even bothered if Peter can’t play guitar anymore. I get it, people love Peter as do I but I mean come on. They should’ve just done a garage show where Peter would be more comfortable and be able to mess up a couple times rather than playing the right notes but being really safe about it.

I saw them play support band in Harrogate, many years ago. Peter was basically wheeled out, looked bemused and sometimes just stopped playing and looked around. Very sad to see. This performance is just like a blues jam. Sometimes it’s best to know when to say goodbye rather than being a hook to get people to see just another blues band.

He only played lead on a few slower tracks in the last few decades. Around the 3 minute and 10 minute 30 marks are as much as he would do after the 90s. Nigel was very much the lead guitarist of the Splinter Group.

@@aceflibbleNot quite. Overall the lead guitar playing was pretty much shared between Peter & Nigel throughout the Splinter Group. Tracks such as The Supernatural, The Stumble, Rattlesnake Shake, Homework, It takes Time, Going Down, and many of their own compositions were virtually all Peter on lead guitar. Obviously his playing was a lot different to his FM days.

Wrong. It was the 'treatment' he received against his will, that fucked him up for good. ECT and tranqualizers. Same thing happened to Roky Erickson pretty much.
