The José Cuervo Salón was demolished a few years ago and it still makes me sad. I have some great memories there, including this very show, in which I got to meet Hooky. I was shaking, but he was very cool. Everytime I drive near the site where this place used to be, I think of this one spectacular night.
For those who think that Peter can't play the now mythical music of Joy Division: he is part of the magic and atmosphere that rice with Ian's voice, that nigth his spirit was there because death is not the end, Peter takes us for a moment to a time that no longer exists but we could feel everybody and we know that because on the stage there was an altar for Ian... this little ritual in México was enough to feel the music and that time with Ian. Thanks Pete, Great show!
Holy shit this is incredible. His voice is perfect - raw, honest, and unpretentious. This is the soul of Joy Division channelled through one human being. What a gift.
This was a very special show for us in Mexico City, there were shrines on either side of the stage dedicated to Ian Curtis for dias de los muertas and the whole evening was incredible, many thanks to Josef Rios and all the crew for all of their hard work and dedication 🙏🏻

@@PeterHookAndTheLight tank you for information, i am Brazilian fan Joy Division / New Order and especially Peter Hook, I would have a suggestion to launch not only this show that I mentioned, as well as other shows that had their live broadcasts, I talk about launching these shows on 1080p digital video format, so the fan buys and downloads the show's file in mkv and watches the show, many artists have done this, I can quote Gary Numan, OMD, Heaven 17 and others, they make the shows available on video, shows that were filmed professionally in full hd and the fan buys on the official website or the website of a partner, I would be very happy if you guys took this idea to Peter, a big hug!
This band is so many fucking leagues above the current incantation of New Order it's actually kinda embarrassing for the current line up. And Hooky's voice is leagues above Barney's. I guess his choice to give up booze all those years ago is paying dividends now. Barney sounds like a broken racehorse destined for the glue factory compared to Hooky.
Hooky was always better singing the Joy Division songs than Bernie. Barney should stick to the NO tunes. Not hard to imagine Ian sounding like this at 60 tbh.
I agree, Barney’s vocals don’t fit. Too soft of a voice, Peter’s voice gives these songs that flare, that aggression!!! . Had Ian lived, yeah I do agree that his voice would probably be like this.
@@ScriptOfTheBridge I'd say Hook's voice fits the early no sound (jd influenced), while Sumner's voice is perfect for the later works, take Music Complete, his voice suits that album perfectly
