If you're actually asking why 21-year-old rookie enforcer Matt Rempe isn't playing more in the conference semi-finals against the Carolina Hurricanes, sorry, Chief, but you don't know all too much about the game of professional hockey.
Yeah!... Rempe as proven himself, but people have to realize that Rempe is still just a kid, and his 1st year in the NHL. It is a blessing that he is even getting minutes at all in the playoffs. The Hurricanes are not a big/hard/tough team. Coach knows what he is doing... he will get Rempe more minutes in upcoming harder/tougher playoff games.
@@francisgioia1721this kid is a penalty magnet and that’s not even all his fault, but people learn, and it’s a lot easier to make it look bad when it’s a monster like Rempe… he’s gotten a bad break couple times but it’s not the time for him to get on the refs good side…they don’t have the luxury to try shit like that midseries
Why does he need to explain this? Rempe has like 20 games under his NHL career belt and was a sixth round pick. This is the playoffs. You play your best players. Rempe will get his shot soon enough.
It seems a little of the problem playing Rempe more is because he's so big when he lays a clean hit on a player it looks like it's a high hit and Laviolette can't risk a penalty call .
it's very rare to have 4th line grinders as lanky as Rempe keeping up with players that have elite skating, what are you really expecting with a rookie like Rempe?
Shows what is wrong with the NHL. The playoffs for many years have been a different sport than the regular season. Rempe suddenly not good since he may cause a fight? Oh no cant have that in the playoffs when the score is tight. The coach is full of BS and the correct answer to the question is they play a completely different game in the playoffs unless the score is 5-1 for either team. Then a few meaningless fights.
The Rangers played this game with 1 less player than Carolina because Reaper only played 4 minutes. It's time to play Brodzinski who will play at least 10 maybe 12 minutes. He is a better all around player and a much better skater.
sadly I tend to agree. I just have that feeling. The Rangers always keep series interesting and never put teams away. I hope this year is different but it's been that way my whole life.
@@mattyo5022 this year is different… we need to believe this year is different. I’m a fan all my life only 2 years old in 94. I know your statement is perception based mostly on fact… but this year is different, we must believe it
While I love rempe and love what he has done for the rangers he is certainly a liability. Almost every sizeable hit he’s thrown has ended with him in a penalty and us trying to kill
20-2-1 with him in line-up. A lot of teams would love to have that liability. He's the reason for their success , the skilled players and whole team are playing a foot taller and with more confidence because they know he's got their back.
