i think this is the best of moonlight serenade on piano solo

While in college, Glenn Miller wasn't a very good music student - but he was a whiz at mathematics. "Moonlight Serenade" was based on an arranging exercise he had worked out mathematically - showing that numbers can reflect emotion, one supposes. (Interesting, because at one time, music was considered part of the mathematics curriculum.) This song also started out with a different title and set of lyrics - "Gone With The Dawn," which apparently, publishers considered too much of a downer.
