@@kammonb7298 depends on the bully. Some like Flash come from harsh circumstances that make them act the way they do. My middle school bully told me as an adult that he a feels like shit for treating me the way he did. I personally didn’t care anymore but it was nice to see that he was empathetic about it. In the comics Peter and Flash end up becoming close friends after Flash acknowledges that Peter is actually a genuine person and there was no reason to bully him at all, and said that Peter is the one who inspired him to enlist in the army.

In the comics, Flash actually becomes one of Peter's closest and most trusted friends, and he also becomes a superhero (Agent Venom) in his own right after serving overseas in the military and saving his squad at the cost of his own legs. But thanks to him later bonding with the Venom symbiote when given the opportunity by Nick Fury, Flash regains the use of his legs and becomes an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well as one of Spidey's most trusted allies.

Well at the beginning flash asks Peter to take the picture…. And Peter mocks him by calling him eugene (flash’s real name I assume) Tells us 1.Peter and flash know each other by name 2. Peter knows flash hates being called eugene It implies they known each other for years, probably same elementary. Maybe even childhood friends before they drifted. Also Peter isn’t intimidated by him despite how aggressive he is, to me that says Peter knows flash well, and either is used to his behaviour, or knows his behaviour is a front and eugene isn’t really like that….

I think he understands ehat Peter's going through. I believe he may have experienced a loss in his family and he was angry about it and probably lashed out. I think that's why he picked on people because he's jealous of what he didn't have. When Peter humiliated him he felt that Peter wasn't a target anymore and probably realised that he was being immature. After he learned that Uncle Ben died he realised Peter probably feels how he felt at the time if his loss and now decided to stand up and be the bigger man and was the first person to ask Peter if he's ok. For the first time in his life he can relate to someone and finally turn himself around.

Flash never “hated” Peter. He just picked on him like everyone else. Really if you look at it, he had a level of respect for Peter even before Uncle Ben died. Even when bullying him he still talked to him relatively respectfully (for a bully btw) and wanted Peter to join in on bullying the other kid and take pictures of Flash humiliating him,

The significance of Flash’s apology is that he isn’t just apologizing to Peter about his uncle…he’s apologizing about being a bully and it took his uncle dying to realize how similar they were to each other and how it felt to be hurt when being held up on the lockers the way he did. It was like seeing his own reflection. When Flash asks, “Feels better right?”, we see that’s he’s had a similar upbringing to hurt others in order to cope with loss and Peter realized this as well.

@@federicocaputo9966 Funnily enough, Spiderman with his immense strength injures less people during fights than somebody like Batman. Spiderman has to hold back so much so he's essentially punching only slightly stronger than the average person as to not kill anybody he punches. Batman on the other hand is just a human with physical peak strength. So when he's punching you, it's just a really strong guy punching you. I honestly think Batman is intentionally more physical than Spiderman.

I'd love for some haters to point it out to me. For the second film, I'd say they suffered from too many antagonists. Usually films with more than one don't manage to perfect any. Give them a try. They're good.

I wish Sony could just make there own Spider-Man films seperate from the MCU and just let the MCU do there low-tier bidding version. Sony could continue Amazing Spider-Man just don't pull another spider-man 3 with too many villains or one tacked onto the end like enough people know that's not MCU. It was far more intelligent and felt like it had a continous plot and more grounded too without loosing the essence and was geting peter out of school finally too.

This was a great scene. I love how they imply that flash went through something similar to loosing uncle Ben, that contributed to his anger and cruelty, and Peter realizes he now has common ground with Flash. Not the best movie, but a fantastic moment.

This is one of the most underrated scenes in any Marvel related film ever. The fact that it was Peter's bully that was the first to give his condolences, and in away that suggested that he understood exactly what Peter was going through, was such a powerful moment. And you could tell when Flash said "I'm sorry" he wasn't just saying that because of Ben's, but he was saying sorry for the way he treated Peter.

I love how this movie retains the goofy parts of comics but also is mature enough to let you read between the lines, flash clearly has parenting issues, he didn't like being called Eugene which leads us to consider that maybe he was called that by someone he lost, and when peter lost his uncle flash understood it. These movies went over most peoples heads since it came right after the first sadly.

They are actually good friends in the comic books. Flash doesn't bully Peter forever. By the time Peter married Mary Jane, they were friends for a long time and Flash would always defend Peter, Harry, Mary Jane etc.. at the drop of a dime. The first thing Flash says is "It feels better, doesn't it?" when Peter pins him. And then he tells Peter he gets it. Flash has lost someone. And being means makes him feel powerful over things he couldn't control. Underneath a lot of adolescent bullies are some damaged kids. It doesn't excuse cruelty or justify anything, but it is what it is.

Flash’s father is canonically abusive, so the implications of this scene are that Flash internalized that hurting other people is a way of coping with difficulties. This would explain both why he bullies people, and why he allows Peter to hurt him after hearing that Peter’s uncle died.

Criticized for crying in the movie, so wrong. His parents disappear as a child and his uncle was murdered. That is some serious emotional baggage to carry around for life. Kick-ass had a great comment in that movie about a lack of an origin story. Most superheroes were created from a very traumatic experience. Something I hope most people will never endure. I loved this movie, ton of heart. Andrew did an amazing job portraying these emotions, great actor.

I think the reason people (including me) don’t like this movie is because the drama part is great (aside from Peter focusing entirely too much on his parents death). The superhero part is where people aren’t a fan. Electro is overly campy and while the actor nailed green goblin, it feels like he was just forced in there to recreate the Gwen Stacy death scene from the comics. Mark Webb has always been known to nail movies regarding relationships and he did that here. He just didn’t hit on the superhero part

Can we just address that this Flash, despite barely being in the movie, has more development and points worth thinking about than the one they have in the MCU? No disrespect to the actor, he does a good job with what he's given, but in less than a few seconds we see that this flash can be compassionate, understanding, troubled, show weakness, be there for someone he doesn't even like, try to console someone he doesn't even like, and knows when to cut the bully act and be there for someone. The MCU version is incredibly one-note and seems more like a kid whose parents didn't show him enough love, so they showered him with money instead to solve the problem, which isn't a bad angle if they actually worked on it more.

This is the perfect encapsulation as to why I loved this movie as a Spider-Man origin story far beyond Raimi’s origin story. It treated grief as more than a plot point, Garfield was more complex and believable, and this scene STILL haunts me to this day. That is the sign of a great movie.

They kind of give Tom Holland depth when it comes to him wanting to bone MJ, but other than that they're more focused on having him be fun, clumsy, and overly excited about everything. Still better than McQuire's Spiderman who is too mopey.

Flash was not that bad of guy in this movie ,even the basketball scene he blocked a shot and talked shit( everyone talks shit now it's suppose to be cool ) the girl who got her sign ruined shouldn't be painting it on a basketball court so she was wrong and then peter who now has his super powers bullied flash.

"It feels better, right?" That one hurt, it says a lot in a few words. Flash was only a bully in this movie because of things that've happened to him, and when he saw Peter had the same thing happen, he went to console him in whatever way he knew

I think he lost his mother at a very young age due to Eobard Thawne, and his father was framed for the murder. Perhaps he just understands the feeling of losing a parental figure all too well.

TASM Flash is the best Flash, hands down. he's not a one-dimensional "haha you're a loser lol" bully like the other two, he's actually sympathetic towards Peter and he is able to put his bullying ways aside for a second to console Peter and be there for him. i hope we see this Flash again in a future Spider-Man movie.

In all honesty this movie was honestly prolly the best, maybe in the talk between best spider movie with Tobeys Spider-Man vs Andrews Spider-Man, I really liked the in this movie the first, the story line pretty good better than MCU, the cgi on lizard is insane and the web slinging from Spider-Man is immensely good. The second movie is what made it pretty bad, first Amazing Spider-Man movie 8.7 outa 10 maybe higher, second like a 5

Even though he's seen the least out of all the Flash's he's the best because he's a real character. This scene alone gives him depth as person. The original was just the typical heartless high school bully and 1 dimensional, the MCU Flash...I'm not even acknowledging that garbage character, but this version is perfect. Flash bully's because he's bullied at home by his drunk dad. So he takes that out on the smaller kids at school to feel like he's in control and not weak. But he's a good kid at heart, and we see that here. Flash knows what it's like to feel helpless in a situation.

He actually had character development and wasn’t just used for comedy like Flash, Ned, Aunt May (mostly), and MJ in homecoming. Those r the character names but they really didn’t do justice for any of the characters, they just let them have the same name

@AyMarvel Elite 1) I can agree I guess. I related a little bit more with MCU Pete. I guess I just find him more likeable. 2) I agree with that. Uncle Ben is such a big part of Peter's life. It's pretty much why he started to be Spidey. Out of the guilt of his Uncle's death. They didn't even need to have an actor for him. He should of had more of a presence. 3) I don't really care how he got his powers. I like how it's not an origin story. 4) Again, I don't need to see Uncle Ben die again. I wish he had more of a presence in the film, but I don't need to physically see him. 5) Sorry man. Aunt Bae for life. I'm okay with that. It makes sense that she's about 50-60. She an Aunt not a grandma.

I think the main complaint about it is that Peter is kind of too handsome and cool in this movie. Sure, he is bullied here, but his whole image riding that skateboard, being brave and standing up to Flash is pretty cool. Peter is supposed to be a very awkward guy. But the movie, script and acting is absolutely good. Emma and Andrew shoot sparks off the screen together.

There was a missing narrative that everyone forgot. In a previous scene, Harry referred to Flash as Eugene which angered Flash. Hinting at a once- really close friendship between Peter and Flash. Flash's popularity distanced Peter away from his former bestfriend and made Flash his bully. Creating a boundary. Flash tried to console Peter but since their friendship soured. Peter didn't think Flash would be the person to try and console him. But once he did, a boundary was crossed. His old friend tried to amend but he was not having it all. All Peter heard was his bully. Not his old friend.

This scene is incredibly deep. Through perfect writing and the use of both visual and audio ques, you can see that Peter lifts up Flash easily which means he is, actually, Spider-Man.
