I think so many women used him which I can never understand. I think a lot of women couldn’t handle his addictions which is very understandable. He was a beautiful and damaged human. It’s so sad that he was so perfect but so damaged. I wish he was still around.

He spiraled into depression and tried to kill himself. "Slow Deep and Hard" was his musical catharsis. That relationship was AFTER the divorce with Donna. Then during October Rust, he was with the infamous Elizabeth. They had an even longer relationship, and at the end, already deep in the coke addiction, he ended up going to prison for beating up a man she'd left him for. He never really seemed to fully recover from that, 10 years later he was still composing songs about her.
So him and Elizabeth was an on and off thing for ten years? And they spent two years apart around this time? Interesting. I'm sure he was very sad about the way things ended for good in 2000, but it's clear it was very much over at that time. I'm sorry he never really seemed to have gotten over her.
