What makes Pete so amazing is 1.)he is just an absolutely amazing player, and 2.) the guy is super smart. The way he can explain his rig, technique, and does so in a way that makes sense, is easy to comprehend and leaves you with a new knowledge of all things guitar is fantastic. Guys like Pete are indeed rare. We are lucky to have a guy like this that takes the time to illustrate in fine detail what makes his chops and tine tick. There is much to learn from Pete and to that my hat goes off to him. Pete, your skill and patience in giving us fellow guitarists bits and pieces of your vast knowledge of is priceless. Thanks you
lenporter This Is the Absolute most talented guitarist I've ran across in years!!! I can't believe the little short pieces of Music he comes up with to demo equipment either!! PURE TALENT!!!! Thanks for trying to help a generation of lost guitarist Pete!!! You are a Badass Guitarist BRA!
Got to hand it to this guy, super down to earth, loves to share his time, experience and knowledge with fellow guitar players. Not to many rock stars willing to do that. So many players haven't a clue how to set up or use their equipment properly. Good to see Pete's into the technical side as well as creating some killer music.
Pete man........your fans must be in full drop jaw mode watching your gig demos, you give way to much and more. hope your show's are as good as you sir.......RESPECT.
On top of having killer tone and being one HELL of a player, Pete seems like such a cool dude. He gets to travel the world playing guitar, and probably has the luxury of being able to choose just about any gear he could possibly want just for the simple fact that he's Pete Thorn, but he still seems like the kind of guy you'd wanna sit around and have a beer with. It's nice to see things going so well for one of the good guys. Keep rockin' Pete.
So refreshing Pete. Great playing great tones, no posturing and no ego. I've been listening to your album it's great. Looking forward to what you do next.
Another great video... I don't know why but the Pete Thorn videos are so much more watchable and educational than most other videos.. It's all about what the equipment does and how it does it rather than who makes it or who made it for me.. Another great vid Mr. thorn
I've seen a lot of your videos (and liked them all) since quite a bit ago, and just noticed I was not subscribed to your channel! Lol, unforgivable. And now rectified! Thanks for sharing your tone insights with everyone!
Thanks for the (ethrige tour rig rundown )pete. Mabie sometime you could talk about running your delay Or other effects through the expression peddle. Great work Pete thorn, I appreciate you giving us some of your time.
Pete, I thinks its awesome that you take the time to make these videos.. I know as a guitar player I really appreciate it.. By the way, your Eruption video is incredible
Hi Pete, from all your Suhr guitars this one is the best one, what a tone, I've always had Les Pauls but I'm thinking of trying one of this Suhr Classic guitars and I was wondering if the wiring for the humbucker in your guitar comes stock in all Suhr Classic pro guitars. thanks!
Mr. Thorn, your tone in this vid is mindblowingly good. Also, I sure hope you do master classes because your way of explaining things is truly awesome!
When I see your pedal boards, it reminds me of all the ones Dhani Harrison from the band thenewno2 has. I am jealous of all the knowledge you have concerning technology as it pertains to Music. I can't wait to tune in to more of your RU-vid videos!
Pete, another question, how do you like that guitar? feel, tone and how does it compare to a leo fender strat (excluding the bridge position of course). Do you recommend it to someone that's learning?
Hi Pete, what made you decide to use a 21 fret instead of 22 fret on this particular sunburst strat that you have? Since 21 or 22 fret does not affect the tone in any ways. And what is the finishing used on your sunburst? is it nitro-finish or thin poly?
The great thing about Pete is that not only is he a fantastic player but he is damn intelligent and is able to articulate nearly indescribable things - music and sound - extremely well.
Watched this video A LOT and I've just noticed that you've got Kluson tuners on that guitar, not locking ones! I'm surprised, did you speck it that way?
Great video, killer sounds. I've been using effects just into the front of an amp or two recently and I'm loving the difference in feel. Am I right in thinking the MIDI AB box is an RJM Music Y-Not?
Humbucker in parallel is by far my favorite sound as of late. It matches the output of my singlecoils on a HSS, but has the sustain and freq. response of a humbucker
It started out with pure love and it's still pure love but also endorsement now :) I bought my 1st Classic S 2nd hand, and then a Badger 18, and then I got to know John S and he's one of my best pals now.
Hey Pete - 1st, thanks for all your videos and being a "normal" guy ;-) Haha! I tend to really like single channel amps and just roll back the volume for cleans. The amp I was playing through for many years was a 18 watt Marshall'ish amp and didn't have an FX loop, so the delay was in front of the amp. My biggest issue with rigs like this is that when I roll back my volume, then the input level into the delay is much lower. As a result, if I set the delay levels for dirty, then on clean they pretty much go away. If I set the delays for the clean tones, then it's overwhelming when I crank the guitar for a dirty tone. How do you suggest setting up a board to manage that? Obviously, having the delay in the loop would solve that issue, but amps like the SL67 doesn't have a loop (I'm not sure why... the SL67 with a loop would be the ideal amp for me). I appreciate all that you do and hope to see you live one day.
Thomas Lester hi, yes that's an issue- maybe having delay mix on an expression pedal- or using a delay like the Timeline with a few presets for different mix levels would be the answer for you
Hey Pete, I mostly play at church anymore. Could you tell me how you run your delay and control it with a volume pedal. I currently run a 69 twin reverb, Dr z maz 38 into a original bk butler tube driver, barber direct drive and my delay is a memory man
Surf the JapStrat Hi, if you use a delay that has an input for an expression pedal, you can control the delay mix, feedback, etc with the expression pedal. The Strymon Timeline has this feature.
I'd like to see something more in depth if you ever do get a chance Pete. It's a unit I'm pretty interested in and I'm never going to get to try one in a store where I'm based unfortunately.
Great sounding guitars ..and after many years of practise I am upto a better quality instrument and did a little search on these Suhr strats here in The Netherlands. Beautifully built but unfortunately they are a little above my budget. Thanks Pete for showing me their existance anyways..ha,ha.
