I remember being so impressed by White Tulip - especially because Peter Weller decided to guest star. At that point, I think the most recent acting he had done was Odyssey 5 (by Manny Coto - who also saved Star Trek Enterprise from being a complete disaster in the last season, which also featured Peter Weller guest starring in a 2-part episode).
Peter's story about shopping with his wife made me laugh hysterically because I myself do JUST ABOUT ANYTHING to avoid shopping with my wife! I don't know if it is just a woman thing (forgive me if that sounds offensive- it isn't meant to be) but she could spend ALL DAY at the mall. She is equally as happy if she comes home with a car-load full of items that she just bought, or if she doesn't buy anything at all and just looks around. She will say "I just want to look for one thing in this store- I'll just be 5 minutes" and almost ALWAYS that "5 minutes" turns into two hours. My wife and I went to J.C. Penny's just the other day and it seemed like she had to try on everything in the store, and yet she bought NOTHING. I just don't understand...lol. We've been married for 20 years, she is the sweetest most wonderful person on the planet, I couldn't even imagine my life without her....... JUST DON'T GO SHOPPING WITH HER!!!!
Loved your comment! It reminds me of "Men Are From Mars Women Are From Venus." Men would be happy if there are like 2 brands of cereal, one brand of jeans, etc. In and out and done. Women, on the other hand, just LOVE to browse.
I'm in the middle of my first full rewatch. Really just wanted to see if it was as hit-or-miss, trying-to-like-it-but-not-always-managing, as I remember. It is. But yeah I just came here because Walter brought up the white tulip again, at the end of season 3, and I thought "yeah that was better than this one", so I paused my current episode so I could browse RU-vid clips of the old one haha
Came here looking for the fringe scene with Gary numan “are friends electric” blasting in the background whilst we se Peter Weller the man electric in all his glory - such an iconic scene, it’s such a powerful image almost archetypal, but instead found the story of how peter Weller got the part which revealed that great and interesting Peter Weller on screen is just as cool and interesting in real life and he reads the same books I do ie the great jungian and religious scholar Joseph Campbell, the guy responsible for writing the hero myth of Luke skywalker!! Although if Peter Weller reads Joseph Campbell and he knows jj Abrams - wtf happened to the new Star Wars movies then? They were completely devoid of the great hero myth patterns, , seemed to me like they put woke politics ahead of telling a good story and it showed, even if people do not understand the nuts and bolts of the universal hero myth story structure, they understand it on a fundamental and unconscious level, hence why the new hi Abrams Star Wars franchise did so badly, people could feel the political activism hijacking’s the narrative and they hated it. I really hope Abrams learnt an eternal lesson from his Star Wars failure and I hope he gets back to making stuff that isn’t about showcasing bullshit Hollywood activism that has almost 0 resonance with the lives of average people, really it’s all about Hollywood taking their privilege for granted and forgetting that not everyone has their view from the unreal world of Hollywood, those in Holland should be banned from engaging in any kind of politics, they’re artists it’s just not their caper. Rant over. Great video. Does anyone know where I can find the Peter Weller scene from fringe?
