Yes sir! I had a 2007 379 Blue Pete just like yours, and I remember getting done after a 16 HR day and I still had to fix things here and there then clean it and get her ready cause I’m 7 hrs we roll out again. Anyway when the sponge fell out of your had I smiled because I know that feeling in your had, I do miss my pretty Peter Truck 😟 . I fractured my spine and my 28 year career was over. Thank you for letting me in your world every Thursday so I can remember ❤🙏🏽👍🏽👍🏽
In the old days, every truck smoked, so we used the top mirror to help check for under pass clearance. Doing a great job on your restoration project. Can't wait to see it completed .
The 1st truck I bought when I became a owner operator was a 1994 379 EXH in the same blue as LBL. Sovereign blue metallic with black fenders and black roof caps...the tanks were also painted black, which I don't think you like. But, that was one sharp ride...just throwing out ideas for ya! Keep up the great work, love your channel Mark!!!
My job sent me up to northern AZ for the week. So now I’m up here, and after watching this, it makes me want to go fix the wiring on the ‘90 379. It might be nice to have a working spot light.
awsome video mark love the older petes and kenworth i am happy to see someone that takes care of the older jewels and not run forklifts through the cabs thumbs up and shared
What a treat it was to see this truck close up, And it's nice to you are what you say you are, and I'm very happy to have met all of you. But still looking forward to meeting the Smokey truck, Although I have seen that truck many times at different rodeo's. Have a great week Mark see you on the next one.
Lots of hard work just maintain a truck let alone restore one. I can't imagine. It's turning out pretty good. I wish I could save the 58 from my friend that he passed away and his kids won't do anything with it. There's 3 others . But I was always partial to that orange kw twin stick no sleeper Oregon truck lots of chrome but now getting rusty. Keep up the hard work on those minty trucks . Struggle is real
Matt in my days trucking we used to refer to those lights on the mirrors that were aimed off the side as Beaver Lights. I really like the melon lights out there and the dual element works good for the turn signal visibility also. I want to get me a set of those interior melon lights for my pick up. Those polished stainless surrounds are very very Top shelf!!! Thanks for staying true to some of our old school values with your trucks!
Switch the wires to your mirror mounted lights to your front turn instead of the combo brake/rear turn, that way it will only come on when turning, instead of every time you brake
Great video as always brother. For the turn signal brake issue, wire the mirror lights into the turn signal wiring on the front of the truck. They are separated from how the rear signals are wired in with the brake lights. That will do'er
Darryl Makes nice stuff at a reasonable price I use a lot of his stuff on my own build. The best part is its Canadian Made! As for the wiring goes on your lights try tapping into the harness that goes to the front signals not the rear. no brake lights on the front lol.
From your early videos to now. It’s amazing to see how far you have come. I watched your Videos couple years ago, now that I want to get into a 359 or 379 I am back to your videos and I love them!
Hi Mark, love the content. I have a 79 Transtar II that I'm restoring to original. Wire your mirror turns off the front turn circuit to stay away from the stops coming on. Keep up the good work
I used comet powder and a brush washed my lot truck a couple of times it took the sun faded paint the polish it. Boss was so happy he told the shop to give me armor all for the lock up. Lol. It didn’t hurt the old paint. The water had some color but don’t go crazy because it can take all the paint off. If your paint old it won’t hurt.
Love the Peterbilt it’s looking better and better and the Kenworth it looking really good to can’t wait to see it finished pulling the trailer down the road
I got the white model 4000 down to two problems break Chambers and lights it had one bad air line I was shocked for a old truck that set in a bush for 12 years ole whity is coming back to life
Regarding those spot mirrors and that mount, on my W900L, the big spot mirrors would vibrate and cracked the mirror bracket off. I had to replace the 2 of them 3 times in a year. I changed to the smaller spot mirrors and haven't had one break in 4 years
Looking great Mark I injoy watching you on these old trucks keep up the great work my friend God bless love your videos it teaches me alot as well. Remember if you got it a trucker brought it.
I would say strip the paint off the aluminum steps, and marker lights by the fenders on the hood and get them polished up 2! Would be sweet some extra Bling lol!
@@johnmcgarry3335 no I live in Northern Scotland. Look forward to Mark showing us on his channel. Only ever seen a few of these that have made it across the pond, but these big rigs fascinate me. The majority of our tractor units are cab-over except for the odd Scania T-cab so seeing these and Mark working on them is really interesting.
I never heard of smoke mirrors before,. Makes sense what you showed in the video, I thought that high spot mirror was to look at the reefer. I was at a gas station and a young kid was fueling a Dodge pickup with a Cummins. He was dumping in an "additive" before fueling, it was 2 stroke premix oil. The kid said it was to make his truck smoke more.
All the best for the show with a great looking truck and trailer. Be proud of this, it's your own hard work, y o u do and did and will do it. That's why I like this channel so much! ❤Meet the Pete 😉
Dude that's what we use to call a beaver light, it's angled downward to shine onto the 4 wheelers so you could see the people at night. And when he was wearing the face mask he sounded like south park Kenny.
To fix the signal lights on your mirrors look at your turn signal switch there is 2 left turn and 2 right turn one set has the brake light signal in it the others don't for your front lights that don't need brake signal
Looking good 👌🏻 every-time you do any interior work on LBL I love that grey with black buttons it compliments so nice! And the “hooker sign” on the trailer was a good one lol.
