@@dagoat5064 what black smoke is is un burned fuel. Essentially the truck is running rich if it blows black smoke. Some light smoke is perfectly normal on a pre emissions era truck, thats just what a diesel will do. But thick black smoke that you cant hardly see through means its way over fueled. And its a good way to plug injectors and gum up your valves.
Boosting FI A question. I saw a video on yt showing a Diesel engine getting a new marine cam? Why do that? If there’s minimal smoke does that mean the best fuel mileage? Not a trucker or a diesel owner. Thanks.
SWEET RIDE! I remember riding with a gal who picked me up in Montana after my Harley threw the rear drive belt! We're flying along at 75 MPH and I said better watch out for deer! She said baby Moose dog or deer I don't hit the brakes just grab another gear! LOL!Thanks for the ride Tamrah
Not supposed to smoke Black smoke is unburnt diesel . $ out of ur pocket & soot/ carbon build up in exhaust system that reduces power out put to pavement ( hooves to to ground ) .which is what truckin is ALL about .
Those are some mighty easy splits there fella. Sounds like you have done that before. Good to see a young person who knows how to drive a truck and appriciates the sound of a good set of pipes.........
I put a 3208 one time in a tandem axle Chevrolet dump truck . It sounded awesome . I drove it to a job site 50 miles away right after rebuild . When i turned in the property sounding so Johnny Bad i finally stopped and parked it . When pulled my emergency air brake button , my side tie rod fell out and the whole arm hit the dirt . I thought about all those bridges i went over . .This was in middle 80’s . But yeah nice job and a awesome noise !
bmulipola that's how your supposed to change gears, smooth and gentle, should only need a couple fingers and float them through, if you do it differently your doing it incorrectly!
bmulipola im not expecting him to hit full throttle accerlerate like a fuckin supra and shit through every gear in 10 seconds. Its a fucking semi truck, and one that can only rev to like 3K RPM!
The true sounds of America... Unfortunately now what it means to be American is getting plagued with all this radical conservative nonsense. What happened when it was okay to be Democrat or republican.. Now I'd feel ashamed to he republican, and afraid to be Democrat in the wrong area.
Lol you no nothing about driving, definitely no nothing about hauling heavy loads .from the sounds of it , sounds stock , 1,850 torque , or may be the 2050 torque .no matter what the power , or gears a good driver will split the gears for best performance and keep the speed up with little harm as possible to the drive train / engine .
@@hopebrowning6300 I pulled Super B Trains in the Canadian Rockies and the ice roads in the N.W.T. 425 Series 60 with an 18spd Eaton Fuller . Max weight was 137 500 lbs. You ! On the other hand .... Should learn to spell.
Aint nuttin like running through the woods and mashing the big kitty and listening to that turbo and that growl rolling outta those stacks. I think I'm a little moist🤗
No Russia has MONSTERS with steering wheels! Russian trucks are awesome! You guys can drive any where with those Kamaz, Ural and Zil trucks! No road, no problem! I love Russia and the Russian people!! With love from America! Semper Fidelis Bruce.
It's a soothing sound, except for the wind blowing on the camera microphone. If you could use a microphone screen next time, it might sound even better. It's good video. I really appreciate your rebuild videos. You know your stuff - for sure.
Tidy Pete, always liked Al Peterman,s wagons ,a cut above a Kenworth, nice smooth gear changes gives the KittyCat more time to meow. Pete is too quiet, narrow bore straight unsilenced (muffled)pipes are ideal to wake the dead. My mate owns a fifty five year old Bristol RE City Bus that barks through a narrow bore fantail exhaust pipe, you can hear her a mile away.
I had ten inch straight pipes on a Pete I drove in the 80s it had them for years I went on vacation and my boss let a dumb rookie drive it,he went into the scales in California with the Jake on and they wrote him up and made them put a muffler on it
@@christopherb5183 it has. I had 3 red lights on the back of my cab in the 80s one scale said they had to be amber the other scale said they had to be red,I showed them in the book facing rear had to be red, they make up things you have to carry the manual to protect yourself
Dewayne Miguel I’ve hauled a load through Cali once. Never again. I was 97’ overall, load was 77’ not considered oversized 80’+ is.. every other state I went through was. Anything over 3 axles speed limit is 55mph, sorry I haul through the Rockies. I’m not going to grenade my tranny or engine trying to go that slow. I went 75mph down the steep grades. Got out of the state as quick as I could.
@@christopherb5183 I drove since the 70s and this state only gets worse with age I'd stay out and enjoy life,I went to work for walmart in 95 it was ok but after 2006 it all sucked I'm retired now and only miss the old days don't miss any of it since 08
Pete has nothing to do with it ..just a body ..ken worth be the same if it had the engine and drive train , etc .paccar. Makes both bodies .kenworth built better but Pete's more popular to fix up ..
