I really love this song. I have to admit peters and lee are a brilliant duo. I wss only 12 years old when this song came out. I stlll have a lot of respect for duo. I hope everyone agrees with me here on you tube
@@charles5596 I believe there was something going on between them I just think there is too much devotion in her eyes and the body language. she adored him that is so obvious, I don't believe it was just an act for the hit and he obviously felt the same about her too.
It is easy to forget how good Peters and Lee were, I love the construct of this song, it's staccato arrangement, a fabulous song, Lenny Peters was a great singer, Diane Lee was lovely, great stuff.
Yes, In need the 1970's were the best time for all these types of songs. Well done Peters and Lee one of the best certainly. Thank you for posting this!
It's funny how a song can grab you, I lost my Dad last month, bad times but this made me smile and cry at the same time as I can remember him humming and singing this when I was 7 years old ! xx
I just feel so sad after listening to this reminds me of my first love. The fun and loving things we did.Even after 10 years after we went our own ways.Wish I could change everything.
My grandma was from England. A war bride for grandpa. Greatest thing to ever happen in my life. They used to play this and a couple others when they would leave to go back for a visit. I am 56 now and I still love this song. There is another I can't remember the name. Come on in...la la la ? Help
greendore -the 70's were great for bowie, lou reed, led zeppelin , pink floyd, elton john, stevie wonder, stones, lennon etc etc....but certanly not for this!!!!!!!! this sounds to e as much crappy as the music of today. But everyone have his tastes after all
WAHT A WONDERFUL DUET TEAM HE PASSED TO SOON he was blind we need more music like this great listening I love them "Don’t Stay Away Too Long" Peters & Lee It's time that you were going And there's no way of knowing How long we'll be apart Wherever life may lead you Remember how I need you Keep our love locked in your heart, wo-oh, wo-oh Jet plane flying high above me Don't stay away too long Come back darling, say you love me Don't stay away too long Tell me you'll be thinking of me Each time you hear this song We'll love again, some other day Don't stay away too long I miss you every minute My world without you in it Is such an empty place When days bring rainy weather As long as we're together There is nothing we can't face Wo-oh, wo-oh Jet plane flying high above me Don't stay away too long Come back darling, say you love me Don't stay away too long Tell me you'll be thinking of me Each time you hear this song We'll love again, some other day Don't stay away too long Wo-oh, wo-oh Jet plane flying high above me Don't stay away too long Come back darling, say you love me Don't stay away too long Tell me you'll be thinking of me Each time you hear this song We'll love again, some other day Don't stay away too long

It's time that you were going And there's no way of knowing How long we'll be apart Wherever life may lead you Remember how I need you Keep our love locked in your heart, wo-oh, wo-oh Jet plane flying high above me Don't stay away too long Come back darling, say you love me Don't stay away too long Tell me you'll be thinking of me Each time you hear this song We'll love again, some other day Don't stay away too long I miss you every minute My world without you in it Is such an empty place When days bring rainy weather As long as we're together There is nothing we can't face wo-oh, wo-oh Jet plane flying high above me Don't stay away too long Come back darling, say you love me Don't stay away too long Tell me you'll be thinking of me Each time you hear this song We'll love again, some other day Don't stay away too long wo-oh, wo-oh Jet plane flying high above me Don't stay away too long Come back darling, say you love me Don't stay away too long Tell me you'll be thinking of me Each time you hear this song We'll love again, some other day Don't stay away too long

I seen a programme a few years back, and sadly they were never realy a couple only together on stage, they were both Married to other people but looked so well together on stage, And Peters real name was Gary Hall he died in 1992 from Bone Cancer.
Yes Bobby's version came later, but even THIS version is a cover. It was originally a German language song called Herzen haben keine Fenster, by Austrian female singer Elfi Graf. Neither these lyrics, nor the ones Vinton used are related to the German lyrics
Kay Murphy, Lenny Peters died a few years ago, I can't remember the actual cause, he had been in very poor health for a few years before hand from what I can tell you, Diane Lee however appeared on stage with Jim Davidson in the early 80's, other than that, am sorry I have no idea what she is doing these days
Davie Kelly Lennie died in oct 1992 and Dianne had a solo album in 94 and a stint with Jim Davidson in SINderella and then had a new duo with her real husband Rick price of Wizard and the move, these days she is a mother of 2 and seems to have retired.
