Today i head to a Sea fishing venue in East Sussex , Pett Level. It a mark capable of producing Small Bass, eels and flounder- Ive also had smoothound here too.
The secret of a big bass close in . Wessex rig , big mackerel or squid bait on the 6/0 3/0 pennel running ledger , big worm bait on the 3/0 top snood . 20 - 30 yardas out .
Looks a lovely place to chill and fish.🤫🎣 On another day, who knows.🤔 Love drone footage.❤️ Thanks for taking us with you.👍👍 Take care and stay safe.😷🙊
@@SaltwaterAngler I'm just catching up on weekend videos. Last night I had 6 and couldn't find the time to watch them all.🫣😲 Thanks for the time and effort you put in.👍 It's much appreciated.👏👏
Another great video Matt. Love the drone shots. I have fished those beaches with reasonable success. Bass; eels; pout and rockling on one day from memory when I took a few friends out for the day.
I often go here when the other local beaches are crammed with anglers when the makeral are in. It's a really nice place to wander along the sea wall early in the morning, sea on one side the Levels on the other side, bird life is amazing.
Good plan ! Yes the birding is excellent with rye harbour one side and the cliffs on the other - peregrine, ravens loads of wild foul I can’t I’d too !
I have always liked the look of Pett Beach. I have only fished it once and I blanked just like you. You are right, it is very snaggy in places. It is somewhere I want to go back to a few times to try again.
It’s February Matt 😂. Fished there my whole life and to be honest it’s poor at high tide , better off moving left towards dogs hill ( opp the cafe ) and fishing low tide up . Flatties mostly . Another pointer …. The boats behind launch there via winch using both the bays you fished so not an ideal spot if you don’t want to keep moving gear out of the way 😊 Keep up the good work with your vids mate 👍🏼
Nice video and like the drone footage. Iv fish there quite a bit in the past, never got much to speak about apart from huge Chan whiting one year, and some small bass, and flat fish. Cliff edge nice for bass to the right. Nice spot for lug a bit further down to the left and nice area to practice casting.
Thanks for the info! Yep Ive fishedfor bass there but never seemed to do too well on the lures from that spot relatively- I blame those seals. Good tip for the lug
Awesome again Matt fished there a few times in my teens caught some nice fish not much going on here been quite hot still a few sharks in the swan river .Happy catching from AUSTRALIA Nick
Matt , I fished pet many times about 40 years ago , after a few blanks a locals tip put me on a top mark , it was between the first two headlands more towards the first one, you reached a small beach , then you were in fishing heaven. This was not a safe mark to walk to or back because of the blue Mudd quick sand , all the best.
My favourite mark is shown in your video looking further towards Hastings. The nudist beach has some good rocks for Bass. You keep your kit on and try to ignore some realy gross sights and enjoy some good fishing.
Brilliant Tim ! I also like that area for Ravens and the peregrine falcons always seem to see them there too. Good stuff just remember to avert your eyes 👀
Used to fish this area 30 years ago, black lug from Eric at dungs, used to be fat rockling in feb, schoolies in summer . My best bass was in hove with squid 7lber
I struggle at pett level, had a few flounder and eels I've met someone who did well here, he fished at darkness casting on top of the rocky ground and getting lots of bass
@@SaltwaterAngler I vaguely remember someone telling me low water was best for Bass there and to be fair ,my bait would have been very frozen blacks and squid😆
Nice venue for the more senior novice like myself. Loos through the gap after the caravans. Coffee shop opens late at 1000 😞 Went twice for the first time last summer. I'd like to explore towards Fairlight (not for the naturists!) but I'm on my own. How far can I go and get back?
Dunno what happened to my question. Any advice out there on walking towards Hastings from Pett and getting back safely? Best avoid right under the cliffs, I'm sure...
@@SaltwaterAngler I can’t really explain but it just jumps from one scene to another no natural flow, sorry it’s just me it’s obviously liked by every one else, may be I should of kept my opinion to my self
@@SaltwaterAngler True, I prefer the "warts and all" approach. Another thing, kudos for picking up that discarded string/line. I've seen what that stuff does to the local fauna.
