Have the new Hirundos for my gym and onsight (especially travel) harness due to the buckle ease and structure of the loops. However, with the buckle, always check yourself because when you pop the buckle open to take off the harness the buckle doesn’t always want to lay flush back down without a little forcing from the climber. Strange but once you get used to this isn’t a problem, just when you set the harness on without youll notice this suddenly goes slack.
My hirundos lower tie-in point torn through after 2years & 4months of use (2-3 times climbing a week). The dynema was torn completely and part of the orange fabric underneath too. I tend to fall often, but nontheless very disappointed with its quality to be honest. Mammut uses a plastic reinforcement at this tie-in point. Now I know why! And why a 5th loop? Nobody needs that and it sucks to attach any chalkbag now...
