Orchid House Twelve years of reliable running must say something. A drive shaft broke in the early years but Peugeot paid for the fix. 'This car was built tough. That should not have happened!' A leak on the air intake once caused error readouts that took ages to figure out but it was just a small chafe. We bought it when we lived up a really rough single track road and the 407 we previously had frequently got stuck. Four wheel lock - great. We've looked at other cars but nothing has the features we like. Plenty of storage places like a double glove box, a top box over the dash, a small tray in the roof for sunglasses. Spacious door trays that are deep and long. A center storage console with a lidded armrest. We like the split tailgate as a place to rest shopping bags when we are loading up. There are cargo rails just below the side windows and cargo rings in the floor which have done great service in strapping bags and boxes. The engine is smooth and quiet and I can get 45 - 50 mpg on a long run. We have had it serviced by a main dealer who always spends time on tuning. I think two problems in ten years of motoring is a tribute to a car we absolutely love and have no intention of ever changing.
@jfkj1695 Keep speed to 60mph max. Use brakes as little as possible when stopping at lights and junctions. Avoid hard acceleration. I can reach 30 mph without touching accelerator just using the anti-stall. My wife had a spinal trauma so hard acceleration hurts. We use Shell V-Power Diesel that does make a difference. It is serviced by the local Peugeot dealer who spends a lot of time tuning the engine. Generally driving as gently as possible. Notice how some drivers wizz past and brake hard at the next lights. I watch them go and then creep up on tick-over anti-stall. I run on 4x4 which is the default, not 4x4 lock. A friend of mine, who liked the car so he bought one, insisted on using two wheel drive full time and was horrified at the tire wear. He was not a gentle driver.
