You and I spent a couple of virtual hours yesterday while I learnt to do this stitch. I knew we were going to get on well when you talked about the 'sticky out beads' -we speak the same language. Wow. this is lovely. I just tried it with 15/0 delicas in metallic dark bronze, Nozue Sonoko Beading Thread, and I think maybe a size 12 needle. Started with 4 beads and 13 rows. Kind of bead/thread/work intensive, but OMG. You guys should try it out! So sleek and awesome, it really shows off the shape of the delicas in a gorgeous way. You get the benefits of the peyote/delica combo, but also a very well balanced flexibility while keeping the sape of the bead aligned with the shape of the work. I love it. Thank you so much for showing the way!

Great tutorial Jill, I am looking forward to trying something new and also future vids of using patterns with this peyote stitch. I have always used clear 3mm irrigation tube down the centre of my regular tubular peyote to give it that firmness. I measure how long I want it and peyote right onto the tube, but keep it on the tube when I finish up.
This was a great overall basics video. As many are, I am very excited about this stitch and currently in the end phases of making a bracelet with 8/0s. I look forward to the upcoming videos. There's always something new to learn!

Wanted to learn PWAT today (yeah, I'm late to the party), and I went straight to your channel, Jill, because you're the very best teacher on YT! If anyone knows, did Jill ever make other videos on PWAT, specifically the join to turn the rope into a bangle? And on reading patterns?? Anxious to soak up more Jilledge (Jill knowledge).
Great tutorial, as always! Thank you! Did you or will you do PWAT with a double border/accent color? IE 2 accent beads on each side of the flat Peyote piece? How about showing us how to read a pattern? I learn so easily from your tutorials, is why I'm asking. The Facebook group for this stitch is an awesome international group of very talented beaders. They've taught bunches and I just joined less than a week ago. Highly recommend the group.
Thank you so much for this video. You have inspired me to want to try this using a combination of different sizes of seed beads to add texture, and by adding a third color for a different design. I was wondering if it might be possible to attach the 2 ends by matching the angles to create a bangle; something else I’ll have to experiment with. I’m thinking of maybe starting and ending my bangle with making my join as a focal design. Hmmm? Oh the possibilities. Side note: I love your new background, so fresh for the new year. I also love your necklace. I wish I could see a closer view. You’ll be seeing in the store soon.

Once again a great detailed tutorial. Thank you so so much have to try this. Any idea about how many 11/0 are needed for a 7 1/2" bracelet. I'll be using Delica beads unless you think one of the other are better.
I absolutely love this design, thank you Jill. But i do have a question. i have been trying to make my own design with PWAT but on attaching it it seems to eat up a line and i have rhombuses, which means that there are diagonal lines going the other way too. What should i do?
You are a great teacher! It's such a pleasure to watch and learn from you. It's still kind of hard for me to read more complicated pattern for PWAT. I tried few times with no success up to now. Thank you for this. Really helpful. I’ve started making a Peytwist rope but it’s really stiff and doesn’t want to curve into a bracelet or necklace. Anyone any idea what I’m doing wrong?
does this project stay stiff? I got about 1/2 way for a bracelet, it will not bend. Let me know if maybe the tension is the issue, thank you if you can help. Sam

Hey Jill, thanks so much for this tutorial, its super easy to follow and looks amazing! Is it possible to do this technique with fewer beads per row to make a smaller overall version or do we need to stick with 10 beads?
Dear Jill, thank you for the tutorial. Very helpful information as usual. I was just wondering if we can use bead crotchet patterns for this technique? I mean the 3 version draft-corrected-simulation patterns. If so how can we determine where we connect the tube?
Is there a video available on how to bring up the edges on the first row, when you have to follow a pattern? Bringing up the edges on the working ends is somewhat easier (although I really struggle), but when I have to bring up the edges on the first or beginning row of the rope when I have a patttern I need to follow ......is a disaster! I have no idea where I start on my chart and if I start at the funky bead turn end or the high end of the row.
Great video! I learned this very quickly thanks to your clear instruction. However, I like using 8/0 beads but had trouble in the beginning making it a cannoli, wouldn't bend well, had to do 13 rows instead of 11. It looks awesome but very large inside diameter, won't stay round. Any suggestions as to what to put in there so it doesn't go flat? What did you use?
8/0 works it just takes several rows before it becomes circular. Will also need to coax into circle once you have built the rope with several rows if you are using 8/0.
So in your video, you are using size 11 beads. You made a comment that for the purpose of this demonstration, you were going to "dictate" we start off with 11 rows of flat peyote stitch. What would be the so called "normal" amount of rows of flat peyote stitch using size 11 beads be? I like the thickness of 11 rows to start, but it's a bit squishy is you get my drift. I loved the video. The demos were very clear and your explainations were wonderful. Only watched about the first half, need to finish my beadwork, then I'll go back and complete it on how to build up the ends and attach the end caps. Also, would you recommend Delica's for this rather than just plain seed beads?
