I think Toetured Cruader is not meant to replace Seelah or another Paladin, but work for those MC that want to go for a Paladin MC and STILL use Seelah, because it synergizes very well specially at level 11. Final Judgment + Mark Of Justice melts bosses
So happy to see you doing Pathfinder content again, man. Been a long-time lurker. BG3 is pretty, but Pathfinder is gritty. And just so much fun to play!
@@ldeschamps6149I really enjoyed BG3. Beautiful looking and lots of fun. But after a while stealing everything trivialized gearing up and provisioning. Did three play throughs before putting it down. I just accept them as being different games that fulfill different needs.
@@ldeschamps6149 Which is somewhat remedied by the most interesting Itemization of almost any rpg I've seen, sure you have your "cast ice knife once a day" and +1 swords but then you get to the actual unique items that have mechanics never before seen in 5e combined with the Illithid powers and how those things interact with existing class mechanics and you gain an endless amount of ways to create builds wholly unique to BG3 that are immensely fun to play I agree that 5E is indeed very limiting by TTrpg standards but I cannot subscribe to the idea that BG3 suffers from the same build limitations
After finnishing a few play throughs on BG3 and the honour mode completion, I came back to Pathfinder WotR to then realize how broad it's possibilities are. Whitch I couldn't even digeste at first touch. The game has such a vast permutation of classes, arquetypes and role play routes, I could only dimension this behemoth after experimenting the giant BG3. Maybe pathfinder won't get the same recognition due to the visuals, but both are masterpieces unmatched in CPRG genre.
A bit weird to cover Tortured Crusader and not talk about Unbroken Paragon, extra full BAB attack every turn that stack whit haste and your smite even can stun.
I actually had recorded a section about it, but sadly forgot to include it during editing. You are correct in that it's probably one of the most loaded Capstone abilities!
Man that new Hag Witch class looks so cool. A full on Hag companion is amazing imo. It burns me so much that it's in the same Class tree as Hagbound, which doesn't seem to have gotten even a slight touch up... With all that's been added here, it's hard to believe they couldn't give even a crumb to the original.
Yeah, it's kinda offers more when you consider the whole "Hag" aspect of it, but I guess one is about "becoming" a Hag, the other about the Hag companion.
The capstone feat of the fleasheater gives you a +12 strength bonus, so along with the demon mythic path and the new armour mythic bonuses this could in fact give you huge power. I am trying this one out on an unfair demon run, so while the consumed enemy bonus is meh, one does not need that many rage powers, this is not a weak archetype (and the roleplay of being an evil character consuming your enemies flesh is simply too fun to ignore).
While Disarm is not as good as Trip its still pretty good for one reason: not only does it reduce damage but most enemies who wield weapons do not, in fact, have the improved unarmed strike feat, so they trigger attacks of oportunity whenever they attack
I also noticed it can trigger the tasty Kalavakus looping attacks even on some enemies immune to it like the Apocalypse Locusts, as opposed to Trip immune enemies!
I think its because they´re not really IMMUNE to it. The attempt itself sucedeeds, it just does nothing because they have no weapon. Whereas these monsters also have in ther sheet an specific immunity to trip.@@cRPGBro
I think the reason the horse from ghost rider isn't undead is because it's a phantom (Judging by the green colour and the name "etheric tether"). In PF2e, Phantoms are described as "A phantom is soul that has diverged from the River of Souls on the Ethereal Plane before being judged. They typically retain memories of their life before death, **but are not undead** " Nice little attention to detail there.
@@michaelgrabner8977 I assume it would be plus 60 in total. It does restrict your mythic path choices significantly, however, and there is a lot to be said for tricksters getting many more and harder crits (which multiplies seelah's mark of justice) or an azata ability resets allowing for more liberal use of mark of justice, to give just a few examples. Something like a trickster skald or demonslayer will get quite a lot more mileage out of Seelah's mark of justice overall.
@@notalefty999 I´m aware of that..I was just pointing out the new synergy between those 2 spells in particular which doubles the smite for the Tortured Crusader and which isn´t the case with the other Paladin archetypes.
thats what I thought... A tortured paladin of Iomedae is great for going Legend. You can maintain Seelah as your faith buddy while still doing your own thing, even if you share the same class... Also, being a Iomedae follower seems torturing enough so it also fits thematically
@@cRPGBro I got the game just recently and get overhelmed by complexcity of the game mechanics so i started to search for build guides so i started build new char crossbloded acording to your build guide, than i realized that i cant choose another bloodlines because of the new patch. Than i find that there is alternative in geomancer class and guess what there is no more geomancer in game, and no build guides that are recent more than 1 year old :( are u planning to do more buildguides that fit to 2024?
I really hope you do a Prophet of Pestilence Fallen Angel Swarm build. It just sounds very thematic and powerful as isn't Shaman a class that can merge spellbook?
Shame the DC of the plague is low. Lvl 12 and was 22...demons etc no trouble saving. There is a higher lvl perk making them reroll... Unless you can raise the DC. Seems like a Hex which cant seem to increase...
With new mythic feat for skalds and bards combining Court Poet and ring that doubles morale bonuses you can end up adding 28 to charisma and Intelligence 😂. Shadowcaster shadow would be great with trickster never roll one ability.
So yeah I am totally going to run Tortured Crusader for my first Angel run. Been playing off and on since release, never done Angel. Going to Final Judgement with MC and Mark of Justice with Seelah, and watch the damage fly. Oh and what I've read shows that even summons give the stacking attack and damage bonus for TC when they die, so I might just summon swarms of fodder and send them to die at the start ^,^
You are correct, I tested it and the classic "Bag of Rats" Trick is working juuust fine for Tortured Crusader, hah. Summon a bunch of weak summons and watch your AB/DMG increase by 20+ in seconds 😁
Something you forgot to mention: Reanimator (Alchemist): the alchemy bonus to "reanimate" undead works with repurpose (lich spell) (i tested it) Tortured Crusader: you forgot probabily the worst downside of this archetype since tortured crusader doesn't get the animal companion. Weretouched: while it seems strong, it has the downside that this shifter's archetype that doesn't get the "final aspect" capstone feature so it cannot keep Lycantrophic Aspect always active at lvl 20 (yes 23 rounds are still good but permanent is better). Geomancer: the extra damage from desert/underground/urban is physical type (slashing/piercing/bludgeoning) so enemy's DR work against it.
You overlook the silliness of Flesheater in that you get multiple size increases. With an exotic Wide-Crit-range weapon and cleave/crit focus lets you go full blender at a MUCH higher rate. Especially when you are bigger than a Giant playing overwatch over the squishies.
I just tested it and... yep, it works! Got myself a tasty +40 to AB & Damage by just summong a bunch of weak things vs that died in 1s vs a Gallu Stormcaller, hah!
Hey, great video, i see some feature i've overlook during my reading ( or not totaly understand the feature like the geomancy-thing, and i'm gonna thing about dip some caster for the curse on spell ) I don't know if you have seen this, but, they added the " ice blood " feature from the winter child as a requirement for the prestige Winter Witch.
You forgot to mention the RLY nice lvl 20 Tortured Crusader Capstone! If you smite an enemy it must do a saving throw DC 30+ your Wisdom mod=if they fail, they are stunned for 2D4 rounds AND you get a bonus attack everytime you do a full attack which stacks with haste :) rly A GOOD capstone. Also as a background = Acolyte = Wisdom for persuasion is rly nice here. Also the Alone in the Dark bonus works with dead summons^^ so summon 8 skelettons, let a caster fireball them= BOOM +16 to AB and DMG and +8 AC for 1 min for your Tortured Crusader :D So if you keep Seelah in the party i guess the Tortured Crusader is the best for a dmg paladin MC. The only downside is that you cannot get the Gr. Weapon Focus + the 2 Weapon Spec feats from the fighter-bonus-feats. Thats kinda sad ^^
18:52 Alone in the Dark is most OP ability in the game. It works with summons and skeletons (and yes, you can summon and kill them before battle) ! Meaning at mere chapter 2-3, you can have 100s of attack and damage in your Paladin, meaning she can one shot anything for you. Also, even if your allignment changes, the ability still stays, meaning 2 points dip and even your caster can fight better than anyone.
Fortune you can justify if you're a summoner. Conjuration summoner. Not as good as going Reanimator, but you can make it work. But the feat starvation is real.
Lord of Builds and Slayer of Capybaras, I especially look forward to your build with the Reanimator and the Tandem Executioner! Tandem does not seem to have a specific Mythic tailored to it so I was thinking Aeon? Looking forward to it!
@@ldeschamps6149 TBH I am saving Trickster for 2nd to last just before Swarm. The story is kind of meh for Trickster. I still need to do Lich, Aoen, Azata and Aeon.
honestly I really don't care about that cause the horse is bugged(yeah you still end up with weird mount bug for the horse) and it's pathfinding is straight up brain dead.
Anybody know if Owlcat Respecced Trevor to be Tortured Paladin when you first recruit him? He's the first guy I thought of when I saw the class preview. If not, well respec mod will have some work to do.
I sincerely hope the reanimator transitions well into Lich because I adore the lich path but I always find it sad that most builds say grab gravesinger and ignore summoning undead.
It can, but Gravesinger is still ideal even for it melee wise anyways, since you can have both melee with the ability that gives you +ab/dmg on kills & the summons!
Saving it for my lich run as a main but have a reanimated mercenary right now and it's a lot of fun even if you don't get summons until I think 6 or 7 - however my angel oracle battlemage has been amazing with the new tweaking and mythic feats they've done - summon a bunch of minions then ride into battle on my horse with a long sword and shield full tank/summoner is a blast (My build is not min maxed but it is a damn good time and full heavy armor tanks are finally viable)
Will you be doing any updated builds or new archetype builds? I am starved for your PF content. (I love BG3 but the builds don't stretch the same itch.)
also, the last level of shadow companion should be immune to failing the save, as you are basically a god killing hero / lich / demi-god at that point in the story =D
idk about the geomancy abyss feature - on high diff fort ends up a pretty strong save for most demons (with one or 2 exceptions that arent particularly common or scary) i feel like its a bit of a trap, especially considering how strong other sorcs are
Absolutely love your videos. Any quick tips on how to adjust your oracle angel build to use the new oracle archetype? And maybe be a halfling? Thanks again for the awesome videos!
Hi there, and thanks! I'm actually planning on an Oracle Angel rework with Dual Cursed Oracle! But ideally you really want the new Misfortune Revelation, and you might also want Spell Focus Conjuration + Spell Specialization for more Storm of Justice damage, with 1 dip in Geomancer for even more!
Just tested it, and YEP! It can be quite overwhelming even because of how many "weak" summons you can dump on enemies before battle starts just to sacrifice them for your Crusader!
Hanet watched the full video yet, but there are new normal feats (only available with the dlc) that were added. You could mention those as well if you want already. And the book of dreams was finally fixed.
Clear Winners in my Book: Pala, Druid, Alchemist (realy hoping for a Guide on that one), Cavalier, Oracle and Shaman because I love bouncing dots/debuffs
Are you going to show the new special boss fight from the DLC LoN? I think you could probably get decent views for doing guides about the specific super bosses.
I just find it a bit unnecessary when Erastil already lets you pick dual busted Domains (Animal + Community) right at level 1, but this can help if you want to go with more varied deities, of course, from a RP point of view. Madness is something that can be saved for later, as Touch of Madness requires a few levels for the effect to become really good. Nobility however is another amazing choice.
The spells mitigate comcealment but they arent quite as good as the feats. For starters, the spells dont work on Areelus Concealment, but the Blind Fight Feats do
Man, I'm torn between Reanimator and Prophet of Pestilence for Lich playthrough. Reanimator has undead support and thematic, but plague does sound fun and lich-like.
Prophet definitely has one of the most unique abilities from the mutating Plague, but the stronger effects usually only come at 14 or so, still it is something you can always spam at will!
Prophet of Pestilence is closer to Swarm path role playing wise, and having a whole bunch of swarm clones also doing ability damage could start become deadly all enemies.
I did a PoP Lich focusing on the Lich's blood magic spells. It's really fun though i did play with mods that added mythic ability to turn hexes to swift actions. I played a melee/caster scythe-weilding Kitsune. I picked Kitsune only because i was curious how a fox lich is gonna look like but the kitsune specific feat Vulpine Rush is a godsend. I didn't even know that feat existed in the first place
A little sad they added a second hag based archetype for Witch instead of improving Hagbound... I'll make Hagbound work one of these days. If only hunched muscle was a profane strength buff and not a size!
Well tried Hag of Gyronna and the hag seems ok, quite tanky and can spam spells...otherwise just a normal Witch which mixed with Lich isnt a bad caster...
@@cRPGBro Maybe better than the other Hag which I still havent got to lvl 20. Actually might be better now as its a Hag/Demon.. I wonder if you change to the form of the hag of Gryonna pet?!?😂 (or maybe not as demon..)
Can you please tell me, I wanted to do the usual. to follow the mythical path of the devil through azatha. I listened to the counsellor, the alignment changed to lawfully evil, but at some point my alignment stopped at the true neutral and did not change, no matter what decisions I made. Is this a bug or because I play on a character created before the patch? And how do I become lawfully evil now?
Think I´ll do a 6 Sorcerer Geomancer, 1 Enlightened Philosopher Oracle, 10 Eldrich Knight and 3 Loremaster to get a decent blaster melee build any tips?
So it is true if I buy the dlc I can use the extra classes in the normal main story? I think that what you said. I just want to make sure before I buy the DLC that on sale. ❤
@@cRPGBro Thank you, for responding. I'm excited to dive into the game. Currently, I'm playing Pathfinder Kingmaker and just reached Act 3. I've already purchased Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous for PS5. I noticed Season 1 was on sale, so I'm grabbing that now. I still have some time before I finish Kingmaker, so hopefully, I can get Season 2 for Wrath soon as well. ❤️ Oh forgot to ask does Season 2 get Archetypes too?
Awesome. i like to make thematic builds that are also powerful and your line of thought with theme and build are almost 100% matches most of the time. so i eagerly await for what you churn out content wise.@@cRPGBro
What would you say is the ideal stat load out for prophet of pest they are a wisdom caster, with the need for int to cast and have bonuses to charisma through their plague while also needing to be on the front line to help spread it? I have been having a hard time understanding what the ideal weapon and stat load out for them should be.
WIS would be ideal, as that directly increases your Plague of Abaddon DC, and I imagine if you want to play Prophet of Pestilence, you kinda want to spam its most unique feature. For example, I was able to get around 65-66 with Demon and maxxed WIS.
I just don't think it offers that much compared to for example Barbarian, and the spells you get are all very low level and quite delayed in progression.
@@cRPGBro the spells are meant to be self buff though not full spell progression, there’s a lot of unique and diverse subclasses, the unique version of rage is great, BAB progress is also really good and you can build them to be better than some of the Barbarian subclasses altogether. Barbarian is a simpler Bloodrager but when you compare something like Mad Dog to Primalist they’re completely different depending on what you’re building them towards goal-wise. I guess coming from the Kingmaker game and Starfinder Tabletop, playing Mad Dog as a AC thrower and then being able to get my hands on Bloodrider they played so much differently from each other and the class has so much flavor like Primalist going into Dragon Disciple I wouldn’t just ignore it altogether I suppose especially if you need a class that meshes with charisma casting that’s martial.
High Wisdom + Mythic Paths like Demon and some gear like the Dark Aura from the Act 4 Shield that increases the DC of Poisons! I was able to get around 66 DC at max level with Demon.
Tbh aside from the prophet of pestilence, they all seem rather lackluster in terms of their execution. A lot of great ideas, but most miss the mark to the point they arent really worth using.
It can be, but for maximum Hellfire damage, it's best to invest into 1 level of Geomancer with Red Dragon Bloodline for example, and also the Demon Mythic. Lich also works if you want to merge, but will have less spell damage than Demon, but a lot of other powerful goodies including better buffs/heals for the Hag Companion.
@@Victhemighty Well, I'd say it depends on what Mythic Path you take. For Lich, definitely the best Lich Spells starting from Chapter 3. Before that, you can simply just spam Slumber and Evil Eye Hexes to great effect as they're infinite uses, while saving a few spells for buffs or CC like Glitterdust.
