My stare was from Tom Float, DCI legend and Hall of Famer. He would just stand in front of your drum and drum with you and you hoped not to tick or he'd stay on your drum with that look. Come on man!

That's the part I can't stand about drum corps man...its so much about how you look. I love rudimental drumming but why did we decide you have to look like a robot to participate in it at a high level? That's why I'm falling in love so much with pipe band right now...
A lot of the style especially marching percussion is taken from american military style bands(hence the words Drum and Bugle CORPS), were it's all about uniformity and consistency between players. The visual aspect of the band is just as important as the musical aspect of it.
