PHARMACOKINETICS; Absorption & Distribution by Professor Fink 

In this Video Lecture (Part 1) on Pharmacokinetics, Professor Fink describes the Absorption & Distribution of Drugs. The major factors affecting the systemic absorption of drugs are presented, including how pH affects the ionization of weak organic acids (like aspirin) & bases (like codeine & lidocaine), which in turn affects lipid-solubility.
In describing the Distribution of Drugs through the body, reference is made to sites of action (Receptor Sites, inactive (Acceptor) sites, binding to plasma proteins, circulating free drug, metabolites, the Blood Brain Barrier and the Redistribution of drugs.
